Columnar Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 Hi Everyone! Just wanted to know what, if any, Dreamcast games people would like to see sequels of on Wii? I would love to see new versions of: Skies of Arcadia Jet Set Radio Space Channel 5 Rez Street Fighter III (although Street Fighter IV would be unbelieveably amazing - come on Capcom!!!) & of course I would love to see Shenmue III on Wii (or 360). So over to you - which games would be great on Wii?
immy Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I'd rather see the games made on ps3 or 360 to be honest
Columnar Posted July 26, 2007 Author Posted July 26, 2007 You know what you are right - it probably should have been! I feel a bit stupid now lol.
Teppo Holmqvist Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I'd rather see the games made on ps3 or 360 to be honest Not so stealth troll. Neogaf is that way, and please, don't come back.
Dante Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I think will never see sequels to Sega games on Dreamcast.
Jasper Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 We did see Skies of Arcadia Legends, didn't we? That meant the franchise was still possible to shift some discs over the counter, so maybe they'll release a second legend. it would be awesome.
pedrocasilva Posted July 26, 2007 Posted July 26, 2007 I'd rather see the games made on dreamcast to be honestfixed for accuracy (and reality)I think will never see sequels to Sega games on Dreamcast. On Dreamcast we won't, since rumors say it's dead (for a while now). On the Wii... Possible; a lot of Sega franchises would just fail on HD... on wii that cost could be lowered so it's a better platform to take risks. And at some point in time... Skies of Arcadia 2 was in development for the GC, it was definitely a sequel. Just wanted to know what, if any, Dreamcast games people would like to see sequels of on Wii? We don't know nothing from Overworks (Skies of Arcadia) since a while ago, but Skies of Arcadia 2 was in development at some point (like said above) Jet Set Radio was made by Smilebit... Who mostly works on Gamecube hardware (with some Ps2 in-between) since 2003. Space Channel 5 and Rez are from UGA, who already developed games for Wii... Sonic and the Secret Rings... Thing is the REZ creator left Sega when it merged with sammy, so now he's freelance (he did lumines and meteos afterwards) So over to you - which games would be great on Wii?Sega ones? Definitely Shenmue 1&2 (and 3 when they do it) with wagglemote... since the games focus so much on ryo's hands and such I feel it would profit more from that than remaking the game from ground with AAA graphics (a big investment for a previously unprofitable game)... although of course some graphics enhancements would be most welcome. Then... Panzer Dragoon... seriously, it would be ace. And then... House of the Dead and Virtua Cop ports or sequels, all of them.
Speedysurfer Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 The world NEEDS Space Channel 5 on the Wii...imagine yourselves going "Up Down Shoot!" in your living room. It has been one of my first ideas of games that would work perfectly on the Wii.
Helmsly Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Jet Set Radio could be done on the Wii, when you tag on a wall, you could hold the Wiimote up right holding the A button and moving the Wiimote around to make the graffiti. You could even have to shake the Wiimote before hand just like a spray can. Not so stealth troll. Neogaf is that way, and please, don't come back. He kind of has a point, whats the Wii going to add to any of the other titles that the PS3and 360 can't.

Best thing Sega could do is release light gun compilations, HotD and Virtua Cop.
4q2 Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I have said it too many times already..... Rez was made for a machine like the Wii. Space Channel 5 was rumoured for a next gen comeback, but all has gone quiet.....unfortunately.
Problematique Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Hmm..Arcadia II has been in development potentially since 2004. So unless they shifted platform halfway through I guess it's been canned. Still. I live in hope...plus if it's going to be another 70 hour belter then maybe it is still under development...
immy Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Not so stealth troll. Neogaf is that way, and please, don't come back. how are you going to play Street Fighter III with waggle?
pedrocasilva Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 how are you going to play Street Fighter III with waggle? The same way he plays Street Fighter 2 on the Virtual Console with a waggle.
darksnowman Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 If there was ever going to be something that I'd truly appreciate from Sega, it would be a Skies of Arcadia follow up. I've been hyped for it ever since I completed Legends on the Cube and every single E3/ games conference since, I've been looking out for it. But to no avail.
Hero-of-Time Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 If there was ever going to be something that I'd truly appreciate from Sega, it would be a Skies of Arcadia follow up. I've been hyped for it ever since I completed Legends on the Cube and every single E3/ games conference since, I've been looking out for it. But to no avail. Agreed. I would take a sequel for Skies over the 3rd installment of Shenmue anyday of the week and twice on Sundays
immy Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 The same way he plays Street Fighter 2 on the Virtual Console with a waggle. If it plays with standard controls then what's the point of it being on wii?
dannbrownn Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I love the dreamcast! I never 0wn3d one but i remember seeing them in the shops etc, i wonder how many great games there are for it that didn't get the recognition they deserved, i would love to see what could be pulled out of the archives and given some sort of wiimote magic!
pedrocasilva Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 If it plays with standard controls then what's the point of it being on wii? What's the point of using standard controls on the Virtual console then? Because it's a game's console, and it allows to link classic controllers in? And it's been there since launch too. Sure you could have a wagglemote attempt, but it would be stupid not to try pleasing everybody, with a classic control scheme available. There's no reason for such games not coming out on Wii if there's a market for them. Agreed. I would take a sequel for Skies over the 3rd installment of Shenmue anyday of the week and twice on Sundays NoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO (I'd take Shenmue 3 anyday)
Ten10 Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 Didn't pretty much all the games you listed make its way onto Gamecube Xbox and ps2? Minus Shenmue 3
AshMat Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Why has nobody said Chu Chu rocket?!? I'd like to see that on th Wii. Otherwise i'd rather have 360 versions of most of them, because i feel the controls would just seem.. tacky (like the ps2 ports).
Jasper Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 What's the point of using standard controls on the Virtual console then? You have really lost track here. Virtual Console are direct ports. New games are, well, essentially new games. Wich means they can better use the wagglebaton to be on Wii.

Street Fighter 3 was what the creator of this thread asked for so it would be a port of a existing game nonetheless. Not much diference, and even if they did a waggle control scheme it would be utter stupid to remove the classic aswell, it's easy to do and doing otherwise would not please a lot of hardcores.
