Fair enough, I'm just not a Konami fan, never have been, probably never will be.

I'm with you. I don't really understand why they're given God-status, but that's just me. My favourite Konami game is still Zombies on the Megadrive.

Heh look at N-Europe front page.

If an MGS is coming to Wii, it will go like this:

Announcement: "Metal Gear Solid is coming to Wii" (Everyone cheers)

"Konami is pleased to announce that MGS: The Twin Snakes is being remade and enhanced for the Wii with loads of extras. Snake now smokes Cigars in fabulous 3D!

"And finally, despite rumours MGS 4 will never ever be out on the Nintendo Wii console.. you stupid kids!"

Am I too harsh..? We'll see.. Konami haven't shown Nintendo much love in recent years, I don't expect a lot now..

Would love to be surprised though!

Also, if they were kind enough to give us a 'cut-down' MGS4, would be awfully nice of them to give us some MGS2 & 3 love too..

The whole thing has been confirmed as false, its over at cubed3.com.

Not quite: the Wii side of it has, the 360 thing is still believed to be true.

After all, it makes sense...

I'm not really a fan of Konami games either, it's just their way of thinking towards Wii that bothers me!

Plus the fact that there are those who would like to play their games on Wii!

I'm not overly bothered by Konami games, it would be nice to have a few on Wii (like Castlevania, PES, MGS and maybe Silent Hill) but, being a football fan I really want PES because I haven't liked FIFA for years and ISS has gone down the pan since the N64 days. Pro Evo is my chance to have a really good 'realistic' football game on the Wii to compliment my Mario Strikers..

It's not as if it could sell bad. What competition does it have really?

I can't complain about Konami, I mean, Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin all rock.

its all about the PES

Spot on mate. Give me pro evo for Wii and its All Good:)

Fuck PES. Resi 4 Wii Edition ftw.

Fuck PES!???:nono: PES FTW:wink:

PES + Wii + Online = Demuwan's a VERY happy man:p

My grandma wouldn't play Silent Hill, but she sure as hell would watch and get involved.

The original Silent Hill was like a magnet to most people, I used to play it and find a crowd drawing round all getting involved. "RUN!" "try using *insert object* on that" "try playing those notes instead".

ISS on N64 > PES

I have PES games for my PS2, so it's not a fanboy rant from me.

Maybe true, but either way, some konami football action is always welcome.

Idiots.

So the Wii is outselling the PS3 about 10 to 1 (Is that accurate?) so what Konami are saying that 90% of Wii owners are kids/family.

Fucking retards.

Edit;/ And they freely admit they cant implement decent controls just because the controller is a different shape. So they're also fucking whinnios. (New insult Ive come up with)

The only good game konami have put out in the last year is konami arcade classics.(gradius FTW!)

Also people like Pro Evo... That's all folks. They barely released a thing on gamecube(Most noteworthy is twin snakes which silicon knights fixed up) and i don't think we missed them.

I have always thought the Silent Hill series was overrated and I didnt really like the 2 that I played ( first and second ) I prefer the R Evil style of gameplay as its more action based but Silent Hill do has a good following so seeing it on the Wii would be a bonus.

If R Evil and Manhunt perform well ( I think they will ) then Konami may have to swallow their pride and admit that mature games will work on the Wii and that people do actually want these kind of games and not just the mini-game collections that we have been getting.

Silent hill is an over-rated resident evil clone. It lacked a decent storyline(The film proved it)controls were worse than the ps1 resident evil games.

the ps1 silent hill game was awesome but too hard for it's own good. They just kept getting worse then. I prefer a mansion to a large pointless empty town though. It was more frightening and the radio effect was genius.

The point to that is to say We have resident evil coming so fuck this!

and i don't think we missed them.
No we didn't necessarily miss them (those who have been with Nintendo for many years), but if Nintendo is to appeal to new audiences (I know it's not having a problem doing so at the moment, but in order to keep the momentum and sale going) then the mature titles Konami produces will help towards that.

It doesn't really matter that many of there games aren't all that great, 'casual' gamers still buy that sort of rubbish!

If it helps sales, it's welcome from me too, but after playing PES for years, I think it's very overrated.

All we need from them in my opinion is pro evo. Even though i myslef would never buy the game and will always have more fun with strikers. I also wouln't say no to a wii:exclusive metal gear but i'm sure that won't happen.

I don't think konami can ignore the success of the wii for much longer. They had to put PES on the ds eventually because of it's success.

I agree PES has reached almost a saturation point with the current control scheme. I mean theres only so my refinement you can do before you start to change the formula.

Thats where the Wii comes in ;)

I think we're being too quick to jump on Konami's ass on this one... that's the opinion of the guy who gave the interview, yeah it's stupid and all... But not representative of the company itself...

This following interview came out a few days ago on Gamasutra:

Interview with Mark Franklin of Konami:

During the course of the conversation, a multitude of topics were touched upon, from Konami's ramped-up support of the Nintendo and the Wii, to whether Elebits creator Shingo Mukaitoge is being groomed as a new face for the firm - read on for the answers.

Konami is having a lot of Wii and Nintendo console support right now, moreso than big-budget stuff. What is the rationale behind that?

Marc Franklin: Konami has always been a strong supporter of Nintendo platforms. We were one of the first companies to come out with original titles on the DS, we were a supporter of the GameCube, and made lots of titles for the GBA.

The Wii, I think, embraces a lot of the innovation and creativity that Konami is known for, and provides an amazing outlet for our developers to design incredible games. You're seeing games like the next generation of DDR come out on the Wii -- called Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party -- to provide full-body immersion in a dance game.

We also partnered with Hudson recently to do some Wii games like Wing Island, and Marblemania, which is doing well. The Wii platform in and of itself echoes and provides really great creativity for Konami developers.

(...)

In the U.S., it seems like developer names are getting more and more important. Is Shingo Mukaitoge someone you guys are grooming as a new face for Konami?

MF: Konami certainly has many world-class developers, and we don't single out anyone in particular. With that said, Mukaitoge-san is certainly a rising star. He's improved himself with Elebits, which many people believe was one of the most innovative games that came out for the Wii.

He then announced a new game called Dewy's Adventure, and that is a very promising title. It looks extremely good. In fact, many of the press, when they first saw the gameplay, thought it looked like a first-party title. I think there is a lot of talent with Mukaitoge-san, and we're all looking forward to what he's going to be able to produce.

(...)

Do you feel that Nintendo has properly marketed the Wii to expand its demographic?

MF: They did a great presentation. I think they hit the nail on the head. The industry, overall, if you look at the publishers, is really starting to take a better look at the mass consumer, because that's where we're going to get our growth.

Nintendo did a really great job with their marketing campaign with the Wii, and you're seeing other people do that too. They're not avoiding the core consumer, but they're also thinking about how to get to the mass consumer in innovative ways that make sense to them, whether it's through social networking or speaking to the consumer in ways that they identify with.

Do you think that the Wii's success is sustainable?

MF: You just need to look at the sales so far. It's done extremely well, and it's a great machine. So is the 360, and so is the PS3. They all have their own positioning. It goes back to the publisher, though. It matters how we create the best games possible for those systems that fulfill the needs of our fans and consumers, but that also help promote the industry and push video game sales and hardware sales forward.

Masashi Tsuboyama, heh? Sure he is in the Silent Hill team (he's the art director, not game director or producer so he doesn't decide anything directly) and he might reflect the team's opinion, that said... they don't release a Silent Hill since 2004 and they've been working on something for HD consoles... the game should be far along in development by that, they just won't scrap it and make it for the Wii instead, so they're basically defending their game by saying this, getting defensive.

Now I'm really not defending them... I find it ridiculous, but I don't think Konami has anything against us; and if Wii continues to sell as it is and RE4, REUC sell through the roof, Konami direction itself might order these guys (with no "but's") to make a SH for the Wii, it's just how the market goes; if Kojima was ordered by Konami to make MGS4 for Wii... he would, they're employees after all.

I couldn't care less for Dance Dance Revolution, but let's not forget Dewy's Adventure is shaping up really nicely. Konami is a developer we should want onboard. [/ass kissing]Now give us Pro Evo!

True.

Konami should feel able to give us a mix of games such as DDR, Silent Hill, PES etc...

Not feel the Wii is only right for DDR, Dewey, Eledees etc...
