Teppo Holmqvist Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Universal has announced new Crash Bandicoot platformer "Crash of the Titants" for Wii and DS. I wonder who is developing the game? This is first true Crash platformer for four years, so it is kinda promising, even though it doesn't push Wii's hardware by any means.
Pit-Jr Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Damn i thought i was seeing Clash of the Titans, i almost got excited.
Teppo Holmqvist Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Oh dear. Doubt this'll be good. Well, it could be. I actually liked Wrath of the Cortex, even though it didn't break any new ground.
Mayjest Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Well, if those are DS scans I'm seeing, then it's not too bad at all. If those are supposed to be for the Wii, then I want whoever made them burned. I never found Crash interesting at all, the 10mins I played around a friends house were boring and far too easy. Apparently I was playing on the second last level or something... certainly didn't feel like it. The best way to describe it is like playing Mario with the graphics dulled to the point of boredom, and the puzzles spelled out for you, like a normal 64 piece jigsaw has been reduced to a 4 piece.
dazzybee Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Mayjest they are CLEARLY Wii versions so your post is trying to be a dig at the graphics for the Wii, but to me is painfully obvious. Anyways, hate Crash games, but great to see another popular series coming to nintys machines.
Teppo Holmqvist Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Well, if those are DS scans I'm seeing, then it's not too bad at all. If those are supposed to be for the Wii, then I want whoever made them burned. Well, they are from Wii version, but before jumping to gun and doing stupid conclusions, only picture that gives even little info about technical level is the screen on the right corner, and it is hard to say anything about it because scan is so small.
Retro_Link Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Well I'd guess they are Wii scans, I don't think it looks too bad, plus it's good to see a Crash platformer launch on Wii!
Hellfire Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Crash would be perfect as it was orignally, kind of like Secret Rings, but this seems more like a Mario game.
Cube Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 So is this a Nintendo-platform-only game, or is it also on PS2.
Charlie Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 This is first true Crash platformer for four years, so it is kinda promising, even though it doesn't push Wii's hardware by any means. I think there was a DS one, wasn't there? It was horrific though, so maybe you're not counting it. (Or is that Rayman DS I'm talking about?)
Kurtle Squad Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Well, it could be. I actually liked Wrath of the Cortex, even though it didn't break any new ground. That's because it was good. Why does Crash look nothing like Crash and have stripes:hmm:
Mayjest Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 I'm sorry, but these are either atrocious scans, or very bad graphics. The blue guy in the left picture spells that out. It looks like a bad guy from Metroid Prime: Hunters with slightly better textures. In short: definitely not living up to the potential of something with twice the power of the Gamecube. I'm not gonna buy it simply because my experiences of Crash haven't been great, but those graphics certainly do not encourage me. Combined with my previous experience, and I'm staying clear. From everything I can tell, Crash was popular because is was a fairly decent platformer on a console severely lacking in decent platformers - same with Spyro. Since Spyro's gone multi format, the games have technically improved, but it's less popular - I think because there were other decent platformers available on the format. Although I welcome what used to be SONY's 'mascot' on the Wii, I doubt it will do well, simply because we have Mario to look forward to. Most people only buy a few games - the 'big' games, or one of each type. Most of those who own a Wii will be looking forward to Mario and either cannot afford/do not want another platformer.
canocha Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 More Scans: Source Gonintendo Its not looking that bad...
Teppo Holmqvist Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 Its not looking that bad... Yeah, it has actually quite good style. Who is developing it?
canocha Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Yeah, it has actually quite good style. Who is developing it? One of the scans mentions "Radical Entertainment".
Teppo Holmqvist Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 One of the scans metions "Radical Entertainment". The team behind Hulk: the Ultimate Destruction, Scarface and The Simpsons: Hit & Run, it seems. Could be solid title.
Daft Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Its not looking that bad... I really didn't like Crash but this looks quite cool. I really like the style.
canocha Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Is that even Crash? Looks more like a relative or something!
Hellfire Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 The team behind Hulk: the Ultimate Destruction, Scarface and The Simpsons: Hit & Run, it seems. Could be solid title. Good record actually.
ReZourceman Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 This looks like it could be good. 3D platform/Platform games used to be my favoruite genre...but theres a HUUUUGGGGEEEE lack of decent ones nowadays, I could quite possibly buy this.
mcj metroid Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 Crash looks retarded in this game. ya what the fuck dod they do to him? man i am dying for a proper crash game again. Warped was a great game and so was ctr... Why the fuck can't they make another one?
