Daft Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Uuuugh....I hate this man: http://kotaku.com/gaming/virginia-tech/breaking-idiot-thompson-blames-va-shooting-on-games-252702.php
AshMat Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 How did he die? Probably put the gun to his own head after he did it. It's jsut fucking sick, this is why America needs to ban guns like our country.
stuwii Posted April 16, 2007 Author Posted April 16, 2007 the guy was so slow though you would think the people in this operation would be the best of the best
Charlie Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shino wtf I think somebody was having a little bit of "fun" with Wikipedia. Awful, truly awful. Apparently, Jack Thompson has been on Fox News as a "shootings expert", saying that the only possible cause for this is videogames influencing or at least calming the nerves of the killer. My source in neogaf posters watching Fox btw. Hey, it's Fox News, no one believes them anyway. They're like The Sun of TV news programmes. I find that I'm far more influenced by films than I am games, I'm sure the majority of people are the same.
Hellfire Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 SO I was right Jack Thompson did have something to say about this. I'm a motherfucking prohpet.
Platty Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Madness and absolutely horrible. Some crazy people in this world.
gaggle64 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Apparently in Virginia a person is able to purchase a semi-automatic military rifle with no background checks of any kind.
Blackfox Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 This is crazy, I saw a newsflash on the BBC a few hours back and there was one confirmed death. This is just shocking and highlights the need for the US to get rid of most of their guns which some ancient law allows them to have.
Jon Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 It ain't the guns but the people, Canada is living proof.
gmac Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 tighter gun control would not stop these sort of things, as you can see in Britain people get killed every day with illegally purchased firearms. It's not a gun problem it's a people problem (oh my god I'm agreeing with the NRA, aaaaaaahhhhhh) although I do think there should be tighter checks on all firearm sales
AshMat Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 It's truie actually what many of you have said about it being the people. Especially when you look at places like Canada. Bowling for Columbine summed all that up pretty well.
Shorty Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 You can say its the people not the guns. But take the guns out of what happened today and it would've been a somewhat different event, no? That's undeniable.
Guest Jordan Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 The gun lobby is way too strong in the US, theres no way there could EVER be a ban on guns. The stupid US Senate just wave around their shitty old fairly dated cositution. Seriously, if we can do without one, i don't see why they have to keep referring to it...
Eenuh Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 The gun lobby is way too strong in the US, theres no way there could EVER be a ban on guns. The stupid US Senate just wave around their shitty old fairly dated cositution. Seriously, if we can do without one, i don't see why they have to keep referring to it... They just like to cling to what they know, even if it's a bad thing. They don't seem to like change much. Yes it's the people killing people, not the guns. But if people are too stupid to use a gun responsibly, then you should take those guns from them. Now everyone and their dog just seems to own one simply because of fear. Because if anyone can get a gun, they can shoot you, so you need a gun to protect yourself. Seriously, if this kid had been running around with a knife instead of two guns, there would've been a lot less victims...
Jack Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I can't believe there's people who genuinely think that this situation could have been stopped if the university had armed guards. That line of thinking's just completely fucked.
gmac Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 yes but the point remains if there were tighter gun controls can you honestly say that he wouldn't have been able to get guns off the black market? someone who is as fucked up as that guy was could easily have gotten some illegal firearms and done the same thing
Dan_Dare Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Already being used for advertising purposes. fucking hell. that's disgusting.
Gaijin von Snikbah Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 If you had to go through the black market it would have made it much more difficult to get a hold of guns.
