Saminthehat Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 I went yesterday too and I agree, MCR were utter bollocks. Not too fond of Shy Child either. Biffy Clyro were decent but I actually liked Zane Lowe the most. None were a patch on the legends themselves.
Dante Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 sooo yeah new white stripes record is ace. All the songs on the new ablum are good. my fav songs from the new ablum are; Slowly Turning Into You You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told) Little Cream Soda Rag and Bone Martyr for my love for you
My Buttons are Magic! Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 ;478516]I am currently re-loving The Format. Made of awesomeness. Their video for is perfectly fun. I was so peeved when I found out they are playing in Boston three days before I get there' date=' may fly to t'other side of the USA just to go see them later on in their tour.[/quote'] thats a really fun song! the voice reminds me of someone but i cant remember who .. its annoying me
The fish Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Oh great, I'm in love with Long-View again... They are the most underrated band ever, which is obvious as no one has heard of them... Check them out:If You Asked If you like it, whatever you do, don't listen to Further! It was one of their singles, and is crap. The main reason for this is that it's a christian rock song. Woo. (Don't worry, the rest of their stuff isn't)
Ashley Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 thats a really fun song!the voice reminds me of someone but i cant remember who .. its annoying me Their whole album (also called Dog Problems) is like that, it all sounds really happy but when you look at the lyrics its a bit more cycnical: Can you hear me? Are you listening? This is the sound of my heart breaking. And I hope it's entertaining, Cause for me it’s a bitch. Was it worth it? When you slept with him? Did you get it all out of your system? Plus that one particular song contains two of my favourite lyrics; "Cause words like girls get bored and run" and "When I said, "I hate what I've become" / I lied, I hated who I was." Their album is free as of next Monday to download on theformat.com may be worth while checking it out.
Roostophe Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I hate Good Charlotte, they are utter utter shite. But their new song "The River" is actually very good, but it's probably only because Avenged Sevenfold feature in the song, who are good.
Dante Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Anyone like The Vol Bondies and The New Pornographers?
Dan_Dare Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 For those too lazy to check out my thread: (We Are) Performance have this week's free single on itunes, and it's really, really good. Pop fans with a taste for the excellent and keyboard riffs should, by all means, investigate.
Ant-Shimmin Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I would like to introduce you to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, he was 700 Pounds and died shortly after singing this song...Original Song, Extraordinary talent Guys, Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4XhMANcCbM
Platty Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 That version of somewhere over the rainbow was played at my cousins funeral. Israel Kamakawiwo'ole recorded that song in 1993 on his album facing future. He died in hospital in 1997 due to his weight and breathing problems True Legend.
mariosmentor Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Anyone like The Vol Bondies and The New Pornographers? Yes I like all of the New Pornographers stuff, not heard much of Von Blondies though, I got an album after hearing them on the film 9 Songs but haven't listened to it much yet. I have too many films and albums I haven't wathed/listened to yet, *sigh*
Hellfire Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Dream Theater was amazing last night. They sure know how to throw a show. Not only are they flawless, their selection of music was awesome and they really have a great stage presence. Simply brilliant. I was going batshit loco.

Seen them at download, hoping to get some tickets for the SECC that are sold out. Dream Theater and Rush rate incredibly highly in my list of good music. And I mean real good music, not stuff thats only good for a laugh or catchy but actual flawless, epic, amazing kind of music.
harribo Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Got the 2 CD re-release of Orchestra Of Wolves today and it is fucking immense. Possibly my favourite album this year.
Ashley Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Hmm my friend suggested Devendra Banhart. He's odd and weird, but its good (in an odd and weird way of course)

If we're talking flawless musicians rippin out some mad skillz in a prog vein, you might like King Crimson. If fact, even if we're not talking about that, check them out anyway. They're in-funkin-credible.
Slaggis Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Has anyone else bought paramore's new album riot? anyone? Its one of the best albums I've ever owned.
harribo Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Has anyone else bought paramore's new album riot? anyone? Its one of the best albums I've ever owned. No for the following reasons. a. Paramore are shit b. NME gave it 5/10 c. In a few weeks you'll have forgotten about it. d. Get Gallows - Orchestra of Wolves its a proper punk album none of this pop-punk bollocks.

In a few weeks you'll have forgotten about it. d. - Orchestra of Wolves its a proper punk album none of this pop-punk bollocks. a. there not b. I dont listen to reviews, rather have my own opinion c. No, I still listen to their first album regularly d. I like pop-punk "bollocks" (is it classed as pop punk? In HMV it was under rock, and in a local shop it was classed as punk/rock) thats my opinion anyway, btw who's "Get Gallows"? I've never heard of them. edit: ah, your half right lol their classes as "pop punk" or "alternative rock"
