Britney Spears - Kill The Lights

I really like it. I swear in parts she sounds like Madonna.

I like it much more than Womanizer, for sure. I'm now hyped for her album.

The pointless new version of Beautiful is hideous. The beat it good, almost like something Goldfrapp would do, but she sounds bored/stoned on it.

It's my least favourite from the 4 new tracks.

I still like it though :P

What do you think of Dynamite/Genie 2.0?

It seems like she's going back to when she did I love rock and roll, not a bad song.

It's not a very good track. I see where your coming from with Madonna, but Madonna has a better, less obviously-enhanced-digitally voice. I like the fact Madonna has a low register to her voice as well.

Don't see the point of her taking an allready fine song of hers and making it sound cheap(er).

Dynamite sounds ok, based on the iTunes clip. I just don't like her choice to just do dance music, as it doesn't suit her voice.

Completely disagree on that point. I like it, more so than Womanizer which is average at best (though incredibly catchy). It's no "Heaven on Earth", but it's still rather good imo.

Anyone heart the instrumental of "Circus", her next single? It's fucking immense. I can't wait for her performance on the 29th on the Xfactor.

I think it's a nice "thanks" to her fans more than trying to make new material (the remakes I'm talking about)

As for the dance music move, no, I'm not completely happy with the choice, I thought the "Back to Basics" era was freaking amazing, performance wise AND it suited her voice perfectly.

I'm kinda sad shes moved on from that, but that's what you get with Christina, she changes, and that's what I love about her. You don't get the same thing twice :)

(Although I wouldn't have minded another Back to Basics ;) )

Give her chance, these are only "Greatest Hits" singles, so, so hyped for her next album! Just hope she doesn't scrap the ballads for "You are what you are" kinda stuff.

But for now, I'm happy with KGB and Dynamite, two brilliant fresh tracks IMO :)

Go Legendtina!

It just seems like she's literally a producers puppet...I still own In The Zone from years ago, and a listening back as a 17 year old, as opposed to a 12 year old, it's a mature sound, with mature content. It didn't sound cheap.

All these female pop singers now just sound cheap...Britney ,Christina, Madonna's last album too.

Only one that made an excellent album was P!nk (this year). But then I've always liked her honesty, her voice etc. Much more genuine, especially her new album, than her contemporaries.

Anyway...

The bassline at the end of DVNO is probably the best thing I've ever heard.

Just thought I'd share.

Justice are amazing.

I'm pretty sure I mention something along these lines each time one of those girls gets mentioned... Pretty sure you disagreed with me last time I did :P

Back to Basics....cheap?

LOL.

Kay.

This is where I stop listening to you :/

EDIT: If you just meant Madonna's last album....fair enough, havent heard it.

But saying Christina sounds cheap atm, :/ hmm.

Christina co writes her own stuff, and plays a HUGE part in her music, whereas the like of Britney doesn't.

Apparently its pronounced Just-eeece?

I never realised, and just pronounced it Justice.

It didn't sound cheap, there were just to many really shit songs and interludes, and only about 4 songs of substance, so the overall impression was negative.

I actually meant her new songs. Sorry. Back To Basics is a very atmospheric album, actually. Suited her voice. Nothing to do with what I was talking about. :)

I love the whole interludes and stuff, and as Paj said below me, it's very atmospheric, and you can just lose yourself in it

And yeah I realised that after reading it again :P

It's actually my favourite album ever, if I haven't mentioned it before XD

I always used to say Justice until I was corrected. :)

but me saying Just-eeeeeece sounds so wrong. :p

Isn't that just cause they're french?

Saying that though, I pronounce Christina Aguilera's name right (most of the time), and that's just spanish pronounciation.

Ageelayra.

Oh well. Justeece it is.

Yeah someone keeps insisting they're called "Justeece". Can't think who...

New Fun song. Woo :D

"For everything you've lost, and all you've overcome

I wanna be the one to put it in a song."

Hate the fact I can't go to their tour (as its in America). Album now please?

I've suddenly become addicted to Girls Aloud and a couple of their songs.

I'm in love with "No Good Advice" - I really like the lyrics, how ever simple they may be. "Daddy always told me too remember, leave the boys till later, don't you drop down"/ I don't need no good advice, I'm already wasted" etc.

Also, on the new album, "Miss You Bow Wow" is fantastic. I love the "I remember living the dream, twenty minutes in a hotel bar, then I slip into your girlfriends jeans". It's one of the best tracks they've done, and it's so damn catchy. Unfortuneatly though, their next single is "The Loving Kind" (Call the Shots 2 basically) - the one that the Pet Shop Boys had a hand in.

Also I just realised that "If U Seek Amy" (a track on Britneys new album) sounds like "F-U-C-K me". Ok fine, I didn't realise this. I read it on popjustice.

It's pronounced Justice. There's no written accent so unless you're actually French and accent English words naturally, you're going to sound like a wanker of massive proportions saying justeece.

Posted

Can't stop listening to Explosions in The Sky. Got all their albums loaded on my iPhone. I think the word 'Epic' sums them up quite well. I was never really a big fan of instrumentalist music before but this shit is just awesome.

My French-speaking, France-living but not actually French (she's Swiss/English) friend calls them 'Justice', even when speaking to fellow francophone-types, so this person who's name escapes you needs a slap.

Either that, or we're all wrong.

Personally, with the help of my new on-ear headphones, I've just gotten back into Led Zeppelin. They're both awesome, especially the Zep.

Well justice is actually a French word as well, as far as I know. So yeah, it could just be pronounced the French way, especially since they are French and all that.

I've heard both pronunciations, but usually the French one.

Coolness' reaction to my telling him there was going to be a Katy Perry concert next year was this:

"Right we meet 00:00 hundred hours backstage. I distract the bodyguards using my mexican Ninja skills. Then you dressed as a transvestite Panda enter her dressing room and kidnap her! :D

After that we make her do a video involving a transvesite Panda and me in the background naked and wearing a sombreo"

We must make this plan come into fruition Coolness. Katy Perry will be ours!

What constitues a "mini" world tour? Skipping out a few continents she's not too fond of?

----

I was asleep just now, since I was so tired, and before my mum woke me up, my dream involved me fishing an overzised CD case containing an album by P!nk off a clothesline way above me. I had to pull all these hooks and stuff.

More a tour that's mostly across north america, with other dates usually only being one date per country. I.e just in the capital or something. She's just playing masses of "Intimate venues" around North America, then coming abroad for a month.
