Eenuh Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Buy the EP! I doubt all the songs will be on the album, a bit like The Lake EP. I normally only buy full albums though... Not sure they will even sell it around here, so I would have to buy it online somewhere. We'll see.
Coolness Bears Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Ooh a new Bat for Lashes song. I love it, didn't realise she as bringing a new album out soon. Awesome news! Also more Antony and the Johnson songs are welcome in my books.

Coolness Bears Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I'm still excited. Yeah, I need to calm down. I've found out Sigur Ros is great music to listen to while reading, which I was doing earlier today.
Oxigen_Waste Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Senses Fail. I think Rock Sound pretty much nailed it. Entertaining mediocrity indeed. And considering I only know Still Searching, which is supposed to be their finest hour, I'd say my opinion on them would tend to get even worse, if I started to hear them more.

Senses Fail are amazing in my opinion too. One of my faavourite bands in fact, although Still Searching wasn't nearly as good as From The Depths Of Dreams or Let It Enfold You. Nice one m8.

Well, as i said, Still Searching is their worst album in my opinion, so i wouldn't agree with what they said anyway. The lyrics before that album were so much more inspired.
Dan_Dare Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 New Bat For Lashes song up on her MySpace. Different to her other stuff, more organic-beats based, but still very her. Makes me happy remembering her next album should be out soon. do you mean 'a forest'? it's a cover- not a bad one actually but I thought I should point that out. new album is welcome, though. For once we actually agree

The lyrics before that album were so much more inspired. Well, you like them, so your opinion is obviously not trustworthy. Lollers. Also, judging by Bloody Romance, Buried A Lie and Rum is for drinking, not for burning, which are the only songs pre-Still Searching that I know, I'd say they're seriously in need of an originality injection. I fail to understand how anyone would enjoy such predictability. But I'm talking to a brick wall, aren't I?

Pretty much yeah :p I wouldnt say they were predictable, they used to have a good range of dynamic songs. That's what i liked about Let It Enfold You - many of the tracks were quite long and they changed pace and vocals quite often within themselves. That seems to occur less on Still Searching, and i cant stand some of the slower choruses (All The Crowded Rooms and Stuck In A Coma spring to mind). I still havn't heard the new one though, but i fear they are going down that route. Ah well. Everyone has their taste. I just hope there are a handful of gooduns on there.
ShavenWolf Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Thanks to hearing a good chunk of their songs on the speakers at work, I'm now REALLY digging The Bird And The Bee's album right now. Especially this song, F*cking Boyfriend! You might like it if you enjoy electro/indie/pop stuff. La La La is excellent, summery, shimmery music. Perfect for shaking away the autumn blues.

Slaggis Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I'm in love with Bruises by Chairlift (...it's on the new Nano advert) I tried to do handstands for youBut everytime I fell for you I'm permanently black and blue, permanently blue for you ooh ooh ooo --- Yes, it's a post about the Xfactor, but wait! Someone actually has some talent. Diana Vickers (17) is amazing. I'm in love with her voice. Her rendition of "Hallelujah" was fantastic. I really hope she ends up winning the show - it's nice to hear a different kind of voice on the Xfactor rather than the norm.
ShavenWolf Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Love them! Thanks for the heads up. Not a problem! In fact, I'm going to post another video of them for Again and Again. I really can't stop listening to this band. So, so, so damn good!
Karl619 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 You guys probably won't like this, but i'll post it anyway, a song by Duke Special which I heard at work and managed to track down, theres something I really like about it, its kinda cute so be warned ! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=PU_07Z1lauc&feature=related Btw.. how do you get the youtube link to show as a window like the rest of you have? I'm so thick
Dyson Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Hello! We just wanted to let you know that you are one of the lucky ones who've won tickets to see Bloc Party at the Apple Store in London (Regent Street) this Friday. Your name will be on the door when you arrive at the shop. The doors for the event will open at 9pm, and the band will be playing shortly after, so please get down early. Please note: If you're late, you may risk not getting in. Tickets will be re-released from no-shows. Thanks for entering, and have a great time! :D:D:D:D:D
Cube Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Black Ice is pretty awesome. It's amazing that they can still produce new songs without changing their style.

I'm so thick I saw them at Connect, and they were really engaging with the crowd, and were really fun. I don't actually like the music, but they were good to watch.
Paj! Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 My song of the day; Cruel (Live anytime during 2007) - Tori Amos
Platty Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I guess I might be the only one who got the new Oasis album? I like it, it's a little slow and very beatlely... Liams song "im outta time" is superb. But yet again it seems to be lacking something..... Going to see them next thursday, CANNOT WAIT as it's been a while since my last Oasis gig.
mr_bogus Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 My song of the day; Cruel (Live anytime during 2007) - Tori Amos The shaking camera actually adds to the freaky strobe effect!
Paj! Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 The shaking camera actually adds to the freaky strobe effect! Why I chose it over longer clips with better sound quality. I like that as a clip. Nightmare Revisted Kinda interested in this. Some good voices.
ShavenWolf Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Sorry to be a Bird And The Bee whore again, but this song is definitely my song of the day! I really love the bass in this song, called 'Man'. It came on in work before. I was grooving. I love it. In fact a customer came up to me asking what the song was called, which I've not had before! According to my last.fm profile, I've listened to them 164 times in just 1 week. And counting! Yikes!
