Didn't see the update 'till now!

What the hell is this gorefest doing way down the first page of the Wii section?!

Finally, a game that'll allow for some extreme gruesomeness, uncensored in all its glory (unless you're german, of course, in which case you'll probably be treated to fluffy pink bunnies coming out of where a Bratwurst used to be). And for the Kiddiest of all Kiddies' Consoles, no less!!!

Can't wait ^^

"... wearing decapitated heads as keychains, and using them as distractions later on..."

"... ripping soon-to-be-corpses open from between the legs up..."

"... using a pair of pliers to rip off an unsuspecting victim's jewels..."

Got milk?!

June 29th 2007 is Resi 4...so...it's quite near if that release date for Manhunt remains.

After watching Dexter (a show about a serial killer) I am more curious about this game now, which is kinda twisted but ah well.

Good anger management I'd imagine.

Very nice....So there is life to extinguish outside of the nuthouse.

Some of those pics are quite reminiscent of Derek Rigg's style for the Somewhere in Time album sleeve for Iron Maiden....Half expecting the band and Eddie to be somewhere in the scenery.

I assuming all but the first 2 are concept art though ? (Strange for a game that is releasing any day soon..)

Another game that seems to be a definite purchase.

It totally doesn't make sense the TV is facing that direction. They just have to show off porn - that's really lame.

I stand corrected. Still don't like the developer's attitude though, it's somehow really annoying me that stuff like this has to be made.

Quoted from the IGN Wiik in review:

Big developers heading to Wii. Manhunt 2 will test the water for adult titles on Wii.

so if it doesn't sell....Wii will be buggered when it comes to adult themed games?

Fair enough IGN - But by this reckoning...Putting one M rated title as the focus of the entire future of 'adult' content on the Wii seems somewhat confusing..Especially when said console is less than a year old and it's ONE game! What if Rockstar balls it up? What then?

It seems that an adult Wii game at the moment simply means 'Manhunt 2'. This not only grates on me as gaming should be a broad spectrum yet in the same vein isn't Brain training on the DS aimed at adults (advertising in TIME, readers digest publications etc)? Yet, frustratingly this never paved the way for more adult titles for the DS..Different genre I guess..but then what is classed as a MATURE genre? I feel there is a fundamental problem with identity in the industry.

A recent article on Nintendojo.com mentioned VC sales and how the Mario, Zelda (Nintendo) franchises were the most popular downloads..Yet if we want more "elusive" titles on the VC we need to buy more of the elusive titles that exist. Makes sense right? But surely the massive uptake of the Wii should guarantee that these niche titles sell? Just give it time. It's not only us 'gamers' buying the Wii, evidently.

Maybe the above IGN statement shows that the industry itself still sees Nintendo in a certain light and even with the sheer amount of Wii consoles sold, mature titles just "wont" sell on the Wii. We have seen this with the DS. it's the most popular device of recent times yet still lacks mature (read: Adult themed?) games.

Either way...I'm looking forward to Manhunt 2 (on its own merits) :¬) I'm just confused as to why IGN would imply that developers see Manhunt 2 as the proving ground for Wii. Here's hoping Rockstar (and the sales) deliver.

I'm going to buy Manhunt in order to boost sales so that hopefully developers release more 18+ titles on the system. This is similar to why I'll be watching the new transformers movie at the cinema, so that hopefully it'll do well and they'll begin making the Thundercats movie!

Well, now we've had The Godfather, Manhunt II and Scarface, plus Resident Evil 4, so it's not like we've been neglected when it comes to adult content is it? I hope Manhunt II sells well, as i want more developers to become interested.

Manhunt will be the first original title however so will be a better indication, sales wise, of how well an 18+ title can do on the Wii. Publishers can't say that sales weren't as high as expected because people had already bought it on another system.

Manhunt is, technically a brand new game (ok, I know it's a sequel but its a Nintendo 1st) but the Godfather, Scarface, Resi are all remakes...and they are gaining mucho interest.

This will probably sell vastly in America...Probably just because of the interest it will garner. It could even change the perception of the Wii to many people. It will be interesting to see jut how the game is covered by the media. Or if it is picked up at all...considering the Wii is the media's success story right now.

But it's no different to having films of this kind, we have an industry that tries to cater for everyones taste.
