I don't start many threads so hopefully this will take off and I'll be a huge success...:indeed:

I was riding around my town today and on my way home I decided to cut through the highstreet (which is pedestrianised). Now I'm more than capable of steering through the crowd but there's always a danger of being confronted by a member of the PPOC (Piss People Off Club).

Why is it, that old people have to try and piss everyone off? I was just cycling through the highstreet at 0.002 mph and he decided that I was a threat to humanity and must be stopped at once. He was so fearful that I might hit him (or someone else) that he practically ran round the lampost that was seperating us and dived infront of me. JUST so he could say 'No cycling' and then bugger off! If he had stayed in his own walking line instead of coming over to me then there wouldn't have been a bloody problem anyway! I'm not one of these idiots that cycle on the pavements getting under everyone's feet. I'm one of the idiots that ride in the roads pissing off all the motorists thank you very much.

If this old man was so unsure of his own ability to keep out of the way of speeding things coming at him, then he shouldn't be allowed to leave The Home at all.

Well that's it, sorry if you fell asleep and lost 3 hours but that's a risk you have to take when reading my posts.

How slow do you think we read? :heh:

When I was about 11 I was riding in the road with my friends ahead of me but went too close to the curb and fell onto the pavement. This old man that was walking next to me just started banging on at me about cyclists and I could have hit him or maybe I skimmed his hand I can't quite remember. Still I could have used someone asking if I was ok not shouting at me. I had to listen to him moaning whilst I put my chain back on.

Old people just love a good moan it seems, especially at the young. It doesn't matter if you were in the right or wrong. Thing is though is that they are highly hypocritical as they go blazing about pedestrianised areas in their electric mobility scooters. I've had my foot run over by one of them and they bloody hurt, and got no apology. Also I heard a report on the radio about accidents in involving them and some are ridiculous. One guy was found going down the motorway on one and apparently a child was hit by one and killed.

Actually just remembered an encounter on my bike about a year ago. It was past midnight and I was cycling home. Now there is an area near my house where three major roads meet in a confusing mess of traffic lights. However this can be avoided by taking a small path that goes round the back of these roads. This path is meant for both cyclists and pedestrians, it even has little bikes painted on it, but I went and encountered an old drunk who seemed to very strongly disagree. Apparently my reckless cycling could have killed him, despite the fact I saw him quite a time before hand and avoided him by quite a few metres. Idiot.

This happened to me loads of times the first time was this wired man I was cycle ling down a busy road no cycle path and I was about 10 so I thought I’ll be safe and cycle on the path and I see this old man walking so I’ll be kind and let him past I let him past and then he starts shouting and swearing his mouth off how you should cycle on the road so I ignored him then he spat on the back of my head and started to kick the back of my bike so I quickly cycled off to have a bath and now when ever I see that guy I cycle on the path and block his way(f**king crazy old man)

Old people are my hell on earth....they think their so great with the pension ans "i used to be in the war so respect me you young minor!".

in my town old people alwys push to the front of q's in shops. Everyone just ignored them but i get so pissed of about it. Last time ti happend i said something to the woman, got accused of mugging her and was thrown out my local shop.

I proceded to shout "when i'm old enough to drive mrs whatever your name is, you'll be the first to know about it!" and walked of.

I hate old people in mobility scooters. They ride in the middle of the road and won't stop for anyone. I was once stood next to a bench where my friend was sitting and one rode full pelt into the back of me. And then had the cheek to say that it was my fault and I should have moved out of the way. Well lets just say that she wasn't a happy bunny when she left.

I also hate fat old people (usually women) who walk really slowly side by side in a crowded shopping area e.g. meadowhall and won't move for anyone.

i ride my bike to work everyday, generally i ride in the road, but sometimes i cycle through the pedestrianised centre (which incidentally does allow cycles). People just get so confused when they see you coming towards them on a bike, and either stop dead, or weave around all over the place trying to escape. Ridiculous! just keep walking as you were and I'll magically manage to go around you. Idiots...

Ahhh old people, those scooters are a pain in the arse and about 90% of people don't need them, they're either too fat to walk or just plain lazy.

I remember once when i was off school (it was like an inset day or something) and these two old women starting having a shout at me and my friend for being off school. We told them it was inset day and they they started moaning about how much time we have off school as if it was my fault.

I don't cycle, but on a somewhat related note, the centre of Durham is so fucking crowded it's untrue at weekends. Trying to walk through town is a nightmare, and you know what? It's old people who cause all the trouble. Why not walk a bit fucking faster? Or perhaps just politely move out the way when I'm trying to get past you?

Old people annoy me, we should all be put in an institution when we get to 60.

I think it's about time we had an old people lane, like a cycle lane, but for old people. That'll teach them to get in the way.

We could place a trail of werthers originals from one end of the street to the other ;)
