How can someone consider watching soap-operas with nearly naked over-muscled freaks sprinkled with oil groping each other in predictable and poorly acted ways manly or entertaining, in a non-ridiculous way?

Can someone explain what the magic is?

Seriously... what's the deal? If you watch it for laughs, I understand... otherwise... please do explain.

Nothing. Its too predictable now. I would've been a very rich man now had I have placed a considerable sum of money of what I believed the results would've been for Wrestlemania 2006. I got every single result correct. So predictable that Rey Mysterio would win the championship in light of Guerreos death...

I preferred WCW personally, back in the 80 and 90s, watched it every week on Saturday nights on TNT. Fun times when the wrestling entertainment wise was actually decent.

I always kinda saw WWE as a male version of Eastenders...

Its basically a soap opera to some people, see what unfolds every week. A gay tag team is imminent. Their entrance involves them pashing each other in the ring. They should also introduce a wrestler called the Angel to be enemies with undertaker. Controversial stuff. Yellow spotlight shines on him with harmonic music.

It was much better in the days of year 7. Man, wrestling on the school field was awesome. They'd always be one kid who would break a leg each term...

Its entertainment, and can be pretty good. If people enjoy it, let them :)

Nobody is forcing you to watch it, are they? There are people that enjoy watching it for a variety of reasons, so why question them?

Edit - I also posted this after finishing watching a WWE PPV. And proud of it.

Yeah I'm with BlackFox. School wrestling owned like no other. How cool must we of looked in our shirts all twisted and trousers green; running and then jumping on someone on the floor with your elbow outstretched like some sort of spear.

Being 18 we still wrestled in school during our breaks between classes (free period/studying time)Ahh good times. Good times. :heh:

Look at this way; why do people enjoy the theatre? It's play-acting yes, but it's constructed that way so it's entertaining. Wrestling is no different, everything is pre-ordained yes but the viewer doesnt (hopefully) know what the outcome is (as peopl ehave said it's become quite predictable which detracts from the enjoyment).

It's basically evolution from old school wild wild west shows, now don't tell me you didn't find them entertaining; people getting shot and stunt jumping off from buildings onto stables and all that? Hell, even movies are fake, it's only because wrestling is considered a sport that the WWE has a hard time from such a closed minded anti-audience.

If you want to watch fighting you should watch Boxing, real Wrestling or Pokémon...or you should go play Tekken or something.

Or wait outside your local at closing time.

EDIT:

Does anyone presides me on the forum actually watch wwe now the wwe thread seems to have tumbleweeds going through it

If you wanna watch wrestling you shouldnt really be watching WWE, watch a company with more than a few guys who can actually wrestle. John Cena vs Umaga... ahahahahaha my neice and nephew can put on a better wrestling match than those guys.

EDIT: if you wanna watch real fighting dont watch boxing or real wrestling, there both very boring. Watch UFC!!!! WAR

Over the top storylines and stuff are alright, but I don't think the characters are anywhere as good as past legends. Where are guys such as Bret "Hitman" Hart?

Those guys are pissed off with vince and wwe creative

To be honest WWE storylines aren't OTT enough. We could do with some more ridiculous characters being brought in. Howabout some alien wrestlers, whose ring entrance can be in a flying saucer, that'd be cool.

BTW, anyone noticed a pattern to Oxigen wasters threads? First Cheese sucks, then I hate the WWE, all the guy does is moan. What next?

That would sure be something, alright.

I kinda liked Gangrel's character, a Vampire. The hole entrance where he emerged out of the fire. Reeked for awesomeness.

Hehe, I think he's alright. We need a balance anyway, and I think threads such as the BreadMegathread help to keep that balance.
