  1. That's true... but you can't do Double Battles in multiplayer at all either. That's like saying that Inverse Battles are a core game mechanic that were introduced in X/Y (as much as I wish that were the case, it only happens in a single battle sadly!) I'd still count it as a cut feature because it only happens literally about 2-3 times throughout the whole game and it was completely cut from multiplayer (you know, the main point of Pokemon at the end of the day!)
  2. AVs are just frickin' stupid! What is even? What can I even say about it!? The entire system is broken beyond belief! Levelling up is now basically pointless, hell, all Pokemon are basically the same now! Only the move choice seperates them here. There's nothing to make them unique and individual now, stats are basically completely pointless here since you can just max out everything! I can totally see why the guys running the Pokemon VCG Worlds annual tournament don't even acknowledge the game's existence... As far as the competitive side goes, this game is a complete disaster. All I can do is hope and pray that it has no influence on the real, next mainline game. BTW @Glen-i, you forgot to mention that Double Battles are gone too (yes I know that you can do 2 v 1 through co-op, but AFAIK, you can't do the traditional 2 v 2 format). Also there's just a buttload of smaller stuff that is completely gone now, like seperate boxes, berries, Union Room etc (the list really is too big to count), but even just the list of major gameplay features that Glen-i has gone through really tells the tale. Even the bike is gone! This is most definitiely not the traditional Pokemon experience and it is not really for those of us who have played the mainline games. It's squarely for those who have only ever played Pokemon Go.
  3. I reckon that Spyro will likely come out on top in the UK. The combined sales of Let’s Go will likely outdo Spyro though. Worldwide it’s no contest of course, Pokemon will crush Spyro. But then again, I’m not convinced that Let’s Go will be able to match Fire Red/Leaf Green, let alone the new mainline entries. It’s not a proper Pokemon game at the end of the day; and the Switch userbase is still smaller than the GB/DS platforms were when their respective Pokemon games came out (it’s also a LOT more expensive too!)
  4. Surprised that nobody here has mentioned the ongoing controversy surrounding Nintendo of Russia's CEO... For those not in the loop, Yasha Haddaji, the head of Nintendo of Russia, was caught on a public livestream abusing and swearing at Nintendo staff and staff from the organisation running a local Mario Kart 8 DX tournament at Level Up. Following this, staff from Nintendo of Russia went on to talk about how this represents his usual behaviour (plus claims of harrassment and more) Today, another article from Nintendo Life came out detailing even more personal accounts of harrassment from him within Nintendo of Russia, within which, Nintendo of Europe have gone on record to make a public statement regarding Yasha Haddaji's conduct... Looks like the Nintendo Ninjas are out for this guy's blood now. Hopefully someone else more deserving of the role can take his place and finally give the Russian market the attention and support that they deserve!
  5. Bloody hell! You actually played me good and proper! Good show! Darn kids!
  6. Switch will be basically 4 years old by then, while N-Vidia will have Orin Tegra units out by 2020 too (if not, then certainly Xavier). It will probably not run in 4K, but it should be able to take downports like the current Switch can!
  7. This is great news for Nintendo in particular BTW. It means that their chances of having strong, ongoing 3rd party support for the Switch ecosystem just skyrocketed! If PS5 (and presumably Xbox Scarlett) isn’t going to be ready until late 2020 now; then that means that not only will the current Switch keep getting 3rd party support until then (and increasingly strong support too), it also means that Nintendo now have time to get the Switch Pro/2 ready in time for those consoles! They can now put out Switch hardware at the same time that will be able to take on ports from those machines! They must be cracking open the bubbly at NCL HQ right now!
  8. Indeed! I honestly expected Sony to push for a 2019 release for PS5; figured that they would want to strike before Switch gains a foothold (and has a chance to get a Switch Pro model ready), before Xbox has a chance to retaliate with Scarlett and to get it out in time for the PlayStation brand’s 25th anniversary. They’re losing ground to their competitors right now... I can’t help but feel that waiting to strike with PS5 is a mistake...
  9. Confirmed by Gameinformer! https://www.gameinformer.com/2018/11/15/sony-interactive-entertainment-is-not-attending-e3-in-2019 So much for PS5 coming out next year... what a way to celebrate Playstation’s 25th anniversary!
  10. Well this is interesting... https://www.nintendo-insider.com/rumour-platinumgames-has-three-nintendo-switch-games-in-development/ Supposedly Platinum Games have 3 games currently in development for Switch (Including Bayonetta 3); and apparantly Hideki Kamiya is involved in all 3 of them! Supposedly two of those games are on track for a 2019 release (Bayo 3 being one of them). If I had to hazard a guess? I'd bet on the three games being Bayo 3 (obviously), a Switch version of The Wonderful 101 (Which was teased ages ago alongside the initial tease for Bayo 1&2 Switch) and a revival of Scalebound for Switch (Hideki Kamiya's last project and a game that was being built on UE4, an engine that runs very well on Switch )
  11. We'll probably get one. Probably won't be announced until that week's eShop update though.
  12. Oh! Yoshi's Island ended up winning? Cool! I actually completed it again just a few months back though, so I'll sit this one out; but it's a good choice! (then again, all three choices were hot fire!) Yeah, I have to agree with this. It really isn't worth 100%ing this game, it's just far too frustrating and takes way too much time to do (unless you have an absolute photographic memory and the patience of a saint!). It's worth collecting enough to unlock the bonus levels though! They're ace! (And insanely hard too!). But probably not worth doing for a quick replay...
  13. Wow! That's insane!! This thing has $1 Billion opening weekend written all over it!
  14. Well this explains a lot about the character designs... https://kotaku.com/realistic-pokemon-artist-got-a-job-on-the-detective-p-1830396116 Funny that I was joking about it looking like the fan made mockup "realistic Pokemon" designs! And the guy works for Ubisoft too, so in a way, it's all their fault. Thanks Ubisoft!
  15. That is a really great poster! Looks utterly stunning! (all the subtle call outs to all the games in the series are brilliant too! The guys did their homework! )
  16. Aww... that's really sad He had a hell of a career! And he certainly ended on a high note! I don't think he could've been happier by the end really; so that's something to be happy about!
  17. I really don't get why they didn't just go for Pokken's art style. It would've worked so much better, even for a live action movie! See! It IS possible to have realistic texturing on the Pokemon and not have it look utterly disgusting! Art style aside though, I think it actually looks really promising so far! I reckon it has real potential to be a legit good movie!
  18. The script seems good! It's legit funny in places; even if it feels a bit too serious in tone... (but then again, it could've been a LOT worse... this IS Gritty Hollywood we're talking about here!) Ryan Reynolds absolutely nails it in the trailer though! Brilliant casting choice, as expected! But... well... there IS the elephant in the room... WHAT THE HOLY HELL HAPPENED TO THE POKEMON!? They are literally nightmare fuel! They somehow actually managed to make them look worse than even the jokey "realistic" fan made mockups that purposely tried to look bad! Wow! They actually managed to make something that looks WORSE than these!! That's REALLY impressive! They are probably the worst things I have ever laid eyes upon. Absolutely putrid! Yuck! JESUS FUCK! I AM NOT SLEEPING TONIGHT!!! Still, art (or lack there of) aside, the movie actually looks like it has real potential to be good! I just hope that the story doesn't end up being as GRITTY HOLLYWOOD as I am fearing... At least the comedy seems to be on point!
  19. At least it’ll probably beat that crappy quality Megadrive Collection on Switch... ... it is sacrificing itself so that SEGA AGES can live. Bless its heart!
  20. The Eevee version makes you start off with an Eevee... That you can't evolve... And you're asking why people would prefer the Pikachu version!?
  21. VERY interested in this! Planning on picking one up so I can use my NES/SNES/Wii Classic Controllers on Switch (And not JUST with the NES Online games, like the useless official Switch versions!)
  22. That's a real shame. Their guides were beautifully produced; I loved collecting their Zelda guides for the artwork! End of an era
  23. It IS Star Fox 64. They're not writing the proper titles in there for some silly reason (unless it really is Arcade/NES Donkey Kong selling in 1999, but I think it's safe to say that's not the case )
  24. Yeah, it's just the bog-standard TV app. There's no Switch specific features at all. Would've been good if they had it switch to the mobile Youtube app when playing in handheld mode; no touchscreen support is terrible!
  25. Dahym! This update is bonkers! (no not the monkey!) I was wondering why we didn't get any EX Bosses in The Ultimate Choice! Can't wait!
