  1. I finally got my scooter fixed! Had a lovely ride back home on it today. It's been in the garage since it was attacked (twice) in October.
  2. Have you ever tried doing it with melted wax from a candle? It's the same feeling but warm.
  3. I whacked my hand on the door handle a few hours ago. It hurts, is swollen and I can't move my thumb. The worst thing is I can't play Zelda, which means I have to put up with Dan playing MORE Dark Souls : .
  4. I still feel weird telling people I met Dan off of the internet. Most of my family think I met him in the pub (technically true). It's definitely easier than what it was though!
  5. Congrats on the job! Yep, that's typical. Nothing comes, then everything all at once.. like buses. My good stuff: Today I went out on a training course about parents, report writing and classroom assistants. It was stress free, very helpful AND I managed to leave at 3pm.
  6. Well done for taking a pro-active step!! From using both websites I found OkCupid to be much better, mainly due to the question filter thing.. it's definitely worth doing as it will set you up with people who you want to be set up with! As for a photo, I agree with what everyone has said so far. I would also recommend you try to avoid ones of you inside and obviously by yourself. Use a photo from a social situation (but not you on a night out getting trashed). This helps girls realise that you must be normal and people must obviously like being around you. Make sure though that you're the only one in the photo. Good social photo places: holidays, on a trip, walks, doing your a hobby etc. This will also help stimulate further conversation . Also a few tips for message writing: Make sure it's personal, read the whole of her profile first and write 1 or 2 questions about something she mentions, maybe expand on it BRIEFLY with your own experience/ opinion so she has something to reply with. Here are some example messages that I got whilst on OkCupid BAD: I have terrible experience on dating site things...people can be quite hectic and weird....I went on three dates and three weird stories....check me out first, if you like my profile, just drop me a line...then we can talk and see how things go between us if you dont like my profile, wish you all the best BAD: if you could be a jaffa cake, would you be a full jaffa cake, half a jaffa cake or no jaffa cake? x GOOD: So, you've lived in 8 places. Where was the nicest place you'd say? I'm contemplating moving abroad somewhere and i'm currently taking on ideas! Oh and hello i'm *** by the way hope you're well. x GOOD: How's it going? I'm a teacher too, except I teach secondary (English) in Barnsley. Very cool that you talk about teaching/education all the time. I find myself doing the same thing... Have you heard of teach first? JUST FOR LOLS: Hello there my dear, I would love to be able to exposit at length and write an amazing message that hooks you in and creates an unbreakable bond, but I've been on the champagne and can barely manage a typed grunt. But cest la vie - You are very pretty - And how could I not message someone who cites Matt Smith as their fave doctor? Much love, D x --- *shivers*
  7. This thread inspired me to have a go and try my own.
  8. Okay, I'm trying to see this through your girlfriend's eyes. It's easy to think she's just trying to be horrible, it's very unlikely that that's how she's trying to be... even though it seems to be coming across like that. I still stand by my view on her being lonely, especially now that you say that you live far away. It seems to me from what you have written so far (even though that might not be the case!), that you value your friends far above your girlfriend.. maybe this is what she thinks, and feels hurt by this. I guess if she likes you a lot, she might be hurt by any unreciprocated feelings. My opinion is that you need to have a good talk together when you next see her and find out how she's really feeling, no-one is insecure for no reason. I'd recommend finding out why and help her get over her insecurities, if that's how she feels.. she will need some help
  9. As others are saying.. is there reason for her insecurity? What explanation does she give for not wanting you to see them, does she believe the girls flirt with you? Possibly she's feeling left out, you could invite her along next time you go out with friends?
  10. If it's not too late: know there's a few portal things already but: Oh and: Finally:
  11. @Goron_3 I once dated a guy for about 6 months, who I had an awesome time with until he made a sudden move to Beijing. I never spoke to him during this time, and often conjured images of him being the perfect person, and how incredibly lucky I'd be if i saw him again. I randomly (very randomly) bumped into him in Manchester (of all places) 2 years later.. initially i was like WOW, but then after dating him again I soon realised he wasn't all that, it was just my head making him seem awesome in the 2 year gap. ....but yeah, what I'm trying to say is, make sure these feelings are genuine! Was it really perfect when you were together, or were there niggly things? Did you never really get closure on the relationship when it ended? If your feelings are genuine, do both of you HAVE to be in Nottingham and London? Could one of you move? Why not join her on her travels? If both of you think being together is important enough.. DO IT!!
  12. Very nice outfit Was it for work?
  13. I now totally see why @Serebii is reserved about meeting people from his forum....
  14. Congratulations! Will you be moving in to your fiancee's place or getting a new place together? Sounds like a fun time in your life right now (By checking for spelling I just learnt on google that fiancé is the man and fiancee is the woman, strange fact I never knew before)
  15. Trying out some new recipes over the Easter holidays, courtesy of Good Food magazine. Tried a spanish omelette or 'frittata' tonight. It was topped with tomatoes, goats cheese, pesto and rocket: The fritatta was so tasty, we almost forgot to take a photo The recipe (and clearer photo) is available here. Will be trying it out with various different ingredients in the future. So far I've also made a chorizo soup and baked macaroni with meatballs .
  16. I've been wanting to visit Brighton for a while, everyone who I know that's visited said it's lovely, and has a different vibe to the usual seaside town.
  17. Me and @Dan Dare have been 'Facebook official' for 1 year. Here are some photos of the weekend: Mysterious flowers appeared in my classroom on Friday morning! We ate and drank at an amazing restaurant called 'Kitchen' on Ecclesall Rd in Sheffield on Friday night. On Saturday morning we decided on a last minute trip to York: Smiles outside York Minster walking round the Wall. Room we stayed in. The 'transport' from The National Railway Museum to York Minster. An absolutely amazing weekend. Oh and tomorrow our new sofa and armchair arrives .
  18. Really enjoying the game so far! I'm currently in the Eldin place and I've been playing for a few hours now. May have a slight OCD cutting grass situation going on. I just can't walk past without getting slice happy.
  19. Have you tried this? http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4333/sweet-potato-and-chilli-soup It's quite similar and super tasty! (Follow the recipe but add a bit more stock)
  20. It is! But £600 is still a lot of money to spend every month. We've booked in a viewing for Saturday morning
  21. So we're still looking for a house! We nearly went for a wonderful 3 bed in Greystones, unfortunately the price was just a little too high. After posting an ad on gumtree, I received an email about a property in Crookes. It's not exactly were we want to be, but the photos look amazing. It's offered at £600 unfurnished, or £675 furnished. We'd be going for the cheaper option, is it all a bit too good to be true? http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l526/emmajparr/Everyday%20Stuff/DSC_0399.jpg
  22. She's been at it all night apparently. It's starting to make me paranoid about the blinds in my flat!
  23. While at my best friends apartment block with @Dan Dare this evening, I caught sight of something very peculiar just as we were leaving. Through the blinds of the flat opposite, I spotted a girl masturbating over webcam very.... ferociously. Her legs (in fancy white socks and porno heels) were spread akimbo as she was bouncing up and down on her bear bottom on the sofa. She then proceeded to squirt all over the sofa, floor and laptop, which she then spent the next 10 or so minutes cleaning up. Oh and she had massive boobies too. My friend was considering moving. I think he'll be staying put for a while.
