  1. I didn't know such a thing existed! So I wouldn't need to have vlc downloaded at school? And vlc plays .flv files? ...Also, if I download the Mac version, will it play on my schools computer?
  2. I've tried this before . I'm not allowed to download the codec to play .flv files in school.
  3. Yep . It's really annoying, an embedded youtube video will block a whole webpage too. My friend just told me that ITV do a pantomime every year on TV. Hopefully I can find some online.
  4. Hello everyone! @Dan Dare suggested I write this as I could really do with your help . My year 4 class (and 3 other classes) are learning about acting and plays over the next two weeks. It would be great for the children to see some short clips of different theatre productions (professional or amateur) on the interactive whiteboard. All the clips I've found are on youtube, but that site is (as most video streaming sites are) blocked on the school network . It would be much better if I could download some instead. So if you know of anywhere I could find some, please help!
  5. I generally agree that Costa is better than Starbucks, except for their Frappuccino Cremes. They're super tasty and I'm not sure how to make them at home. There's the chocolate one (add a shot of caramel too) and a strawberry one.
  6. Bought two of these, they were less than half price with free delivery. I feel old.
  7. TASTY! I made a falafel wrap too, made mine with lettuce, hummus, orange pepper and feta :awesome: .
  8. 2 bed. The loft had a really nice radiator. That sounds a bit daft, but it looked really fancy! They refused our offer, they didn't even bother calling back to let us know. Then today we heard that it's been 'reserved'. They are nice, I've seen quite a few brands that do the same sort of thing. @Dan Dare and I really wanted the JosephJoseph multicoloured 'elevate' utensils, but after reading some reviews, we've been put off.
  9. So yesterday we saw another very nice house. It's in Hunter's Bar. We're going to make them a lower offer as we think ?625/month is very pricey for unfurnished. Front of the house, although we'd used the back door to enter.
  10. I used to be like this, but after moving SO many times, you realise it's easier to get rid. As far as art stuff goes, I've kept my favourite sketchbook and paintings etc. I allowed myself 1 plastic box for all my art stuff. Everything else I just binned, memories are nice, but keep them limited to make way for new ones . I take all my books with me though. They look nice in my bookcases. Oh also, every time I move, I put all my old clothes that I no longer wear in a bag for the charity shop. You've got to imagine the place you're moving to. What do you want it to look like? What do you want to have in it?

    Snow!

There's a fine dusting of snow settling in Sheffield at the moment!
  12. It has so much character! But then technically it's a studio because there's no 'door' between the living area and main bedroom.
  13. @Dan Dare and I went to look round a 'coach house' yesterday. We had a second viewing this morning. I've fallen in love but Dan isn't so sure. What do you guys think? It's a coach house just outside of Sheffield, right where we want to be. THe driveway is completely private and the original gate is mostly closed off. Living room with wood burning stove. Theres an original stone sink to the right of the fireplace. The stable door opens up to outside, but the main entrance is round the side. Kitchen and dining area, with stairs up to the master bedroom Stained glass windows at the top! They said we could bring our own sofas in. Bedroom up the steps. That's a super king size mattress. There's about double to space behind me as well. More bedroom space. Through the bedroom there is a gallery balcony, which overlooks the living room, it could be used for a book corner/ study space. The balcony overlooking the living area, yep.. that's a chandelier. Balcony again with a photo of the ceiling. Didn't get a photo of the toilet, but it's on the ground floor by the entrance with shower - we don't want a bath. There's a cute brick storage room outside (very nice) which stores the washer, tumble drier and freezer, plus room for a few more things. There's also a south facing garden (that needs a bit of work) but it's completely private. So, it's 10 minutes walk to work for Dan, in the area we want to be. No agents fees, lovely landlord and it's only £595 a month. This includes internet, water rates AND council tax.
  14. You have parties with housemates, not parents. If you're happy living at home with your parents and your parents are happy then that's fine. I was just hoping you'd see how MUCH better life is living independently.
  15. So you could have a party at yours without letting your parents know and they'd be fine with that?
  16. Exactly, 'what's best' involves growing up and moving on with your life, experiencing new things and living independently without parental control around you. You can do what you want, when you want. You can live where you want, and do your house up how you like, you don't have to follow their routines and rules, you make your own that suit you. You learn how to live independently and learn lots of new things, instead of the same stuff you've had your WHOLE life. You don't have to live with your parents to help them out either. If you're planning on losing the big V, are you really expecting to take a girl back to your parents? Or are you relying on the girl being independent instead?
  17. Those pictures make me want to go back to Paris. I've been but it was only for a few hours when I was 11. It was my birthday yesterday, me and @Dan Dare went to Manchester for the day (was meant to be going to Liverpool but the trains there were cancelled). Here is a pass the time train photo: <3
  18. It'll be staying in the flat for now' date=' someone else signed for the house before us . Not a clue, it wasn't in there when we looked around, all the furnishings had changed (for the better)! The flat is very nice, it's unique and there's plenty of space for buying stuff. I'd say go for it You've got THAT much money and you haven't moved out yet? I'm surprised your parents haven't already kicked you out.
  19. There's no lights in the ceiling! Me and @Dan Dare looked round a house yesterday. It's at Hunter's Bar. Right where we want to be: The photos don't do the place justice. There's real wood floors, a working victorian fireplace, stone tiles in the bathroom and a spiral staircase up to the attic. There's a lovely kitchen and the surfaces are all wooden too. Th It's also south facing, and the living room faces onto the garden (through them lovely doors). The street the house is on is also cobbled and very private, yet in a great area. They're asking £600 a month unfurnished for it. The only downside is we'd find it tricky fitting a table in there :-/.
  20. I painted it back in sixth form. It's to help 'feminise' all of Dan's black electrical gadgets. I was waiting for that. He's certainly turned the bedroom into a slum .
  21. @Dan Dare is happy because we bought this today: It's 32" .
  22. You could just buy some red felt and stick the emblem on with glue! What I bought in town yesterday: From River Island, I call it my holiday skirt . Aso, Dan and I bought these from John Lewis. They're ridiculously cutesy and spew worthy:
  23. Me and Dan have been looking round houses to rent in Sheffield recently, we saw a nice one today: It has two double bedrooms and is £495 a month. It's very nicely furnished. The only downside is there isn't a separate dining room and it's a little far out of where we'd ideally like to be (Hunters Bar, Sheffield area). However, there is a house to rent in the exact spot we want. I call it the dream house: It comes with everything you see in the photos, it's 3 bed.. however... it comes in at £700 a month!! I'd totally be up for paying half of that, but unfortunately, Dan is not !
  24. Eeee! That looks good, will it have a drop like Oblivion?
