My point, which was illustrated perfectly by that video, was that Daft Punk are sophisticated artists. Their songs are complex, layered and nuanced. Their use of samples is unparalleled and stupendously exciting. They engage your head as much as your feet. They are mentally, or intellectually, stimulating. Jesus, arguing with you is hard work.

first of all, it's not he, it's them. Secondly, I was being flippant on purpose. Glad to see you guys are taking everything to heart regardless. Thirdly! Comparing Pitbull and J-Lo to Daft Punk is like comparing a crooning faux jazz restaurant singer to Coltrane. I really, really shouldn't have to explain why the greatest Parisian house act of all time, who single-handedly redefined an entire genre and have been at the vanguard of popular dance music since the mid nineties, are good. Or engaging, or sophisticated, or whichever one of my words you want to pick an argument with today. Words pale in comparison to this video anyway, so here you go: everything great about house in nine minutes flat. All done live.

I'm in. Bitches best be ready for some awesome

Yeah well so's your face.

I actually started answering that, then realised that if you really have to have why Daft Punk are good explained to you on any level you're basically a fuckwit.

I have, occasionally. Recently I bought Stark: Resilient because Amazon hiked their price and the cheaper indie sellers charge postage. The difference meant that I would have paid the same online as in store so I picked it up that weekend when I went to town anyway. Other than that, though, there's really nothing I can't buy online at a better price.

The thing about this L.C.D dance music is that it's irrelevant. OK, so it twinges some primal synapse in your brain that makes you dance. Beyond that, it's impossible to engage with it on any kind of intellectual and critical level. But you know who else twinges that part of the brain? The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Justice, Mr Ouizo, SMD, SebastiAn, Danger, New Order and hundreds upon hundreds of other dance musicians. The difference is that they can be engaged with, they do stimulate more than the basest parts of the brain. So the question re: l.C.D is why? Why just...waste your time on it?

well up for it. DO NOT LIKE the new Supes get up though. I don't give two shits about the pants but it's armoured. Eugh. After all that brilliant work Waid did on Birthright, his costume should be entirely symbolic and decorative in my mind.

OMG I'm on Tumblr now. I'm doing a little project I'm calling Man in Full Colour which is going to be a photo diary of my day to day routine. Kind of a visual document about stuff I do. It'll either be interesting or shit. I'm not sure. Either way, follow me. plz

Fair summary. It starts interestingly enough with a cool concept and a dramatic first arc but it goes totally off the rails soon enough. Even the big pitch story, which forms the team in the first place, is rushed, cast aside and forgotten. Personally, I wouldn't buy it. It's not consistent or important enough to warrant spending on.

I think I'm quite adaptive like that. I quickly pick up slang and stuff from friends and my accent has been known to change from living with a bunch of southerners at uni! Hopefully that means I'm empathetic rather than a hollow, soulless shell merely pretending to be human

aye! Yeah, looks boss. In fact, is boss. Beta had giant swinging hairy balls full of testosterone and biceps. New Horde looks suitably meaty (Firefight in Halo raised the bar after gears 2, so it's nice to see Epic respond in style) I really wasn't planning on buying this game but it's looking really substantial and headed in the right direction from launch. Looking forward to it.

My brother was vegie and then vegan. He eventually went back to meat though. The thing that most vegans gloss over is that it's an incredibly imbalanced diet. My brother was constantly compensating every time he made a meal, always finding alternatives that, at the end of the day, sought to emulate an omnivorous diet. And on top of that, it was socially disastrous. Everywhere we went, his diet was a cause of annoyance and shit food. It was unhealthy, too. Despite his best efforts, he only ever lost weight and never looked healthy. Pale skin and so on. And the thing is that he was good at it too. Everything my brother does he takes very, very seriously so despite all the research and supplements and discipline it was essentially a failure. The truth is that we're omnivores. We have the teeth to eat meat and the eyes to hunt it. Obviously, a heavy meat diet with not enough veg is shit - it's a consequence of easy living and most people just don't understand where food comes from. But take a hint from nature and eat meat in moderation as part of a balanced, vegetable centred diet and you'll be fine. There's nothing wrong with eating meat, and there's ethical means of sourcing your food if you want. Respect your food and nature and you're ok.
