It is pretty great.

That's ace- where's the clip from?

I've been a little guilty lately of doing a bit of a vanishing act in a new relationship, but I've been on the other side and seen friends just disappear completely so I caught myself and dedicated more time and effort to my friends. It's not hard to do both, but it's easier to just do the relationship stuff.

What's the lowdown on 1.8 then? rpg elements sound compelling.

Godspeed, Iun. Godspeed.

Out of curiosity, have you read the book? I read it recently (ish) and then rewatched the movie. I already thought it was good but seeing how the Coens adapted the written word in to the cinematography and direction elevated my opinion of the film to 'mind-fuck genius'. It's pretty incredible.

bit of a back step on the thread but WHAT THE HOLY MOTHER OF SWEET BABY FUCKING JESUS!? No Country For Old Men is one of the best films of the last twenty or thirty years. It's an absolute masterpiece of cinematography, tone, casting, performance and tension. It's absolutely perfect in conception and execution in just about every form you can imagine. Clearly, you associate with shitheads and vagrant fucks.

God alive - WHY?

They'd probably say 'they can't, because we know too much' which is bollocks. Look at actual totalitarian states- people get dissapeared by the state all over, no matter who they are or what they know.
-
Exactly! And if these groups were right about all this being a massive conspiracy how have they: A: Acquired so much evidence from their home computers and B: How are they still alive? Any actual world dominating evil secret society capable of controlling society as we know it would have them all killed.

Actually, I think the site's pretty cool. Nice design and the Child of Eden review is really well written. -
I love horseshit like this. Attributing pattern to coincidence is classic conspiracy theory fodder and these guys are no different. They take popular imagery like the 'one eye' and say it's repeated because of a conspiracy. It's actually repeated because it's a successful sales technique, but that's a fine detail.

to be fair, I was fucking sick of the sea by the end of that movie. North Atlantic what!?

Nintendo? Rats... Any room for 360? -
I saw on Twitter he said he was completely done. Fulltime Millarworld from now on. Might still be published on Marvel imprints like Kick-Ass but no more Millar on the MU.

He's not doing any more Marvel I'd say Gage,Hienberg and Gillen would be my top picks. Fraction and Brubaker are, I think, better on solo books, so they're out. Aaron I almost picked but I'm waiting to see how he does with X-Men.

After reading Children's crusade and Academy this month, I'm starting to think Bendis isn't the right man to really helm the Avengers ship now. He really worked for the New Avenges launch, Dark Reign etc, but I'm feeling that his character work is slipping. Take, for example, his Spider-Woman. She was amazing in the original New Avengers launch, and her solo series (tragically short lived) was great. Now, though, he seems to have reduced her to another talking head in the background. And I really don't like his handling of Protector. He's supposed to be a super intelligent alien diplomat of some kind, and one of the most powerful members of the Avengers and he's frequently being written as an 'I no understand!' comedy foreigner. Think about that: a diplomat not understanding or engaging with foreign culture. Makes absolutely no sense. And just...generally. His style doesn't fit the scope of the Avengers anymore. I like Bendis, but he's at his best doing 'low concept' stuff like Daredevil. Gage is doing much better work on Academy because he has a better grasp of team books, Avengers history and a cleaner approach to character voices. Gold has way more stun. Come on Jean, come on Bishop. Hey Storm. I don't think I ever read any of the original Archangel stuff. Was he written as he is now with a whole split personality theme? Warren is easily one of the most interesting X-Men written this way but I'm not sure about historical precedent.

That awkward moment when everyone's on the internet.

That's more like it.

I really liked it. I think the show could have started going a little stale at this point but the switcheroo they pulled has spruced things up a little. It's fresher and the new status quo is fun to piece together. Some of the changes were a bit weird, others were more interesting. Either way, they're worth watching for.

Looking really good.

Unfortunately for you, I agree.

Commendable. Good work.
