  1. It's really hard to decide, as I have had loads of major changes in my life. One of the biggest would have to be when I stopped seeing my dad 11 years ago. The whole mess when I had to leave uni 18 months ago was a pretty major change too, as I lost a friend I'd known since I was 11, left academia and had to give up the dreams I had been aspiring to my whole life. Hopefully in a few years time though I'll look back on getting my current job 6 weeks ago as the biggest and most positive change in my life though. I am certainly feeling happier with life and more positive about the future than I have done for years.
  2. No snow here, thankfully as it doesn't go well with 30 miles of commuting each day. Some at the weekend would be ice though. I had a good day! I got some nice shampoo and my scalp is already feeling so much better. I know thats pretty lame, but I have been using a shampoo for a couple of months now that really hasn;t agreeg with me so my hair and scalp have been 'orrible. Finally rmebeered to replace it. On the downside, I managed to smash 2 glasses and a bowl AND pull a muscle in my calf while I was feeding my hamster... serves me right for being too lazy to put my used dishes in the kitchen rather than leave them on the floor.

    Cars...

not meaning to sound boring but i actually work as an insurance underwriter, so if anyone wants any advice, just send me a PM.
  5. I have a 1992 VW Polo Fox. It looks terrible, but runs really well, tbh i prefer it to the corsa I learnt in. I only passed my test in July, so I got it as it's really cheap to insure and is no great loss to motoring history if I crash it. I will get my first year no claims in july, and assuming my income is still about the same I really want the volvo 480 like Oxigen_waste has i love the quirky styling and the interior too. plus, not meaning to sound like an old man, i really like volvos! ps: tomorrow is my cars 16th birthday, hapy birthday Fantastic Mr Fox!
  6. i have had quite a few jobs, and certainly the one here the public was most irritating was when I worked in a games shop. one particularly funny story from them is less the idiocy of customers, more the fat, disgusting D&D stereotypes that game stores do attract. We used to have a big sweaty, sticky guy who used to come in every week. He never used to buy anything, but he'd look at stuff. Everything he touched he made sticky, so we used to watch him the whole time he was in the store and mentally note everything he touched. Then as soon as he left we would each have our own tasks. 1 ran round with air freshener, 1 wiped down the front counter and I wiped down everything he had touched. Very synchronised, like the Morcombe and Wise breakfast sketch.
  7. i have the complete pink panther cartoon box set, which is great late night viewing. and listening too of course due to its excellent soundtrack
  8. crazy coincidence, as that is the very dvd i'm watching now exceptional stuff, and makes an exceelnt fall back show as the WGA strike continues to destroy my TV viewing habits aka my life! I just purchased Tom and Jerry vol 1-6 complete collection and house season 2 in the HMV sale, for a mere £27.98 inc p&p. I'm very pleased with those purchases.
  9. hello all! miss me? i had a great day. i ment for a christmas lunch with some friend at pizza express and had a great time. not to expensive either, so good all round. I am currently experienting with my secret santa gift - Carlsberd Special brew. Never had it before, not so sure I like it. I like Carlsberg export, but special brew is too sweet and there is no need for beer to be that strong.
  10. too true! when i came here i had heard so much crap about the city being crap, but i love it. lived here for 4 years now, and just like it more and more. The eastside development looks good, and its so close to town too.
  11. i bought myself a laptop, the lack of which is why, for those of you who had noticed, I haven't been on recently. very pleased so far, although vista is really freaking me out. i'd never considered a laptop before really as you have very little flexibility with the hardware, but I have a promotion soon (hopefully) and assuming i get it i'll need a laptop.
  12. a previous purchase arrived in the post today, dexter season 1 boxset. a few extras on there, it looks good. what good show!
  13. i will join as soon as i have a new pc. i get the impression wii browser won't be quite as immersive!

    Dead pc

it turns on, it just can't complete loading windows. several people have suggested it may be a hdd problem, so i'll buy a new one. i had hoped i had made it clear i was trying to isolate a component or software cause of the problem

    Dead pc

nope. the main hard drive is less than a year old, surely there shouldn't be anything wrong with it? i have much older harddrives by the same manufacturer too. hmmm. i thought it might have been a ram problem?

    Dead pc

my pc has all but died. the last week or so i have only just been able to use it, never more than 1 program at a time though. now it is even worse, taking over an hour to load windows when i turn it on. even that is sometimes a waste of time as it keeps turning off my usb ports, so no mouse or keyboard. last few times i have been able to use i have checked to the best of my ability what might be wrong, but can't find any software issues. it's not overheating either. anyone have any ideas? its a 3ghz 64bit sempron with 1gb of ram running xp home.
  18. 1 - logan drives a yellow hummer i love logan. not like that though!
  19. I work in insurance. It's insanely boring. Whats even worse is that I actually have to care too, and do start caring even though I know the whole thing is pointless. I need to try and decide what I want to do instead. There must be a good job I can get.
  20. I have seen a few places like this in the past open and then go bust quickly. I can't really see how this one will buck the trend, but it would be nice if it did well.
  21. I was in the pub opposite omega sektor on wednesday night, and there were loads of Hummers driving around advertising it. Certainly seems like a classy place!
  22. excellent, I'll download the new one, as menus was the key 'failing' of the last one. I have some requests for sme Heroes DVD's, so I'll sort that and give some feedback this week.
  23. i know what you mean. It's not my usual sort of genre, but 1 listen and I was just blown away. Absolutely incredible, its like a whole new level of music, it's in my top 10 too I think.
  24. that definitely changes things! You can get a gps for about £70 now. I think i'll just get one of those. Thanks.
