Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore (16th Jan)
ArtMediocre replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Oh man, people sure are gonna look weird at me when I'm playing this on the bus. -
https://www.roadtovr.com/valve-index-sold-out-stock-half-life-alyx/ Looks like Alyx has made its mark. Valve Index headsets are selling out in a lot of regions. Now, the question is how many did they have in stock in the first place, but it's still a good sign. I will most likely order the Index myself when it becomes available here in Norway (if it does...)

@drahkon I just wanted to chime in: Astral Chain and Xenoblades Chronicles 2 are really great games! You should get Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna The Golden Country as well if you enjoy the main game. Really good expansion!

So does this mean we get like that map, but times 50 in verticality?

Just got my Oculus Rift S, and I have to say... from the first impression, I think I'll be keeping my OG Rift. The screen is great! It's really crisp, I can read way more easily with this than the CV1. The colors are good, and I don't think they are washed out at all. And the tracking actually surprised me! It's really impressive work they've put into that! But to lose the tracking outside of the field of view is a big minus. Same can be said about the sound. Oculus/facebook should be ashamed to release something like that on a PC VR headset that cost over £400. Also, the controllers feel a bit more cheap, and the ring on top is way less ergonomic. The comfort of the headset is okay, but I'm finding it hard to find the sweet spot, and stay there, with the halo band. So it didn't click with me. Thankfully as I said above, I have a 50 day return policy, so I'll try it a bit more just to be sure. If I end up sending it back, I'll save up my money and buy the Index when/if it becomes available in my country.

Finally finished the main story now. Credits have rolled! Man, that final boss was tough! I really enjoyed the story, and the music. The muuusic!! When I went to ARI just before the final fight and this started playing, I understood it would be a heavy fight with some twists and turns. I did not really have any problems with the platforming in the Astral Plane, but the camera was wonky some times. Other than bad lip sync, I think this is one of my top games this year. Looking forward to starting chapter 12 for a good epilogue, and then diggin a bit deeper to see what I've missed, before starting with Fire Emblem: Three Houses or Bayonetta 2.

With a lot of new and possibly great VR content coming out (Boneworks, Half Life: Alyx, Medal of Honor), I've bit the bullet and bought a new Oculus Rift S on a black week offer. I'll probably get it in a week or so, and I'm really curious to see how it stacks up to my Oculus Rift CV1. I bought it from a store with a 50 day return policy, so if I can't sell my CV1, it is not really that good of an improvement, or if the Valve Index becomes available, I still have a chance to return it and get my money back. I'll give you my impressions when it arrives. I've read a lot about it, but reading can't really give you any impressions when it comes to the VR platform. The only way is to strap it to your head and see it for yourself. (so why would I tell you my impressions? :P)

Well, of course they want to sell more VR headsets. I mean, it's kinda like calling out Nintendo for being jerks because they want you to buy the Switch to play their games. But Valve is at least giving you the option to play it on every PC VR headset, which is really nice. I think it's time for me to sell my CV1 and get a Rift S or a Valve Index, if it becomes avaliable in Norway. This just looks that good! Oh, and they confirmed it will be a big campaign similar to HL2. 13-15 hours, if my memory serves me right.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (November 15th 2019)
ArtMediocre replied to Julius's topic in Other Consoles
Ow, speaking of Mass Effect and loading... I just remembered the greatest loading screen of all time. The Citadel elevator <3 So many awkward conversations. That lovely music. -
This could be really, really cool, but I'll keep my dreams in check. It probably won't be Half Life 3, but if it is a lengthy single player with a good multiplayer with Valve polish, it could truly be an amazing journey. It will probably make a lot of people bite the bullet and purchase a used or new VR headset, which will only make the community and the platform grow. I'm optimistic, but I doubt it will be as big as some people hope. ......but here's hoping!

Here's a pretty cool tip: The game features a lot of secret weapons you can make in the Gunsmith You can find most of the secret weapons in the reddit post above. I love the gunsmith for this feature, and you can really tailor your weapon to fit your needs. Just immagine, if you reeeally like the M4A1, you can use it as an assault rifle, or just built it to be a functional SMG with 9mm bullets. Pretty great feature

Oh, and crossplay! I love crossplay! If any of you guys decide to get the game I can finally play with some of you. I play on PC, so I've always felt a bit isolated while playing multiplayer games. Not too many of my buddies play on PC, so this is a really welcome addition to the game.

So, despite the media backlash and bad PR this game have gotten (and the fact that I don't have time to play any multiplayer games anymore), I caved in and bought this game two days ago. And it is good. Really good, to be honest. There are some modes that I don't like at all, but it is good to play a CoD that is back to the roots. It gives me the same warm feeling I got when playing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. I like that I can customize each weapon with 5 attachments again, and that there are so many options :D. And playing harcore team death match with down to earth abilities and skill again is sooo satisfying. I'm not ever going to bother with buying any cosmetics, and everything seems doable when it comes to unlocking. I like the new blueprint system too, which gives you the option to get a high end customized weapon with multiple attachments at low level, which also helps level up the original weapon. If that makes any sense.. I still haven't touched the campaign, but that'll be for another day when the twins sleep longer and I have more time.

So it seems my SNES controllers are stuck in germany because of "Missing, incorrect, incomplete or illegible export documents." Gee, thanks Nintendo. Do you know if they are able to help me out with this? I ordered them over two weeks ago when they first got available. I'm gonna start a chat with Nintendo support in about 20 minutes, but wanted to see if any of you have had any similar experiences with Nintendo Store.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening REMAKE — 20th September 2019
ArtMediocre replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, those EU-logos are all over the place! Way to ruin a beautiful cover artwork. I'm gonna shamelessly put this here, seeing as it's one of my favourite themes from the Zelda series, and it's a remix I'm really happy with ^_^. I made this guitar remix of the Ballad of the Wind Fish 7 years ago, and I still love it. Hope you enjoy it. -
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
ArtMediocre replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Someone remade the Breath of the Wild 2 trailer in true N64 quality 😁 Pretty good nostalgia vibes going on here. -
Finally gotten around to starting this game. So far.... it looks like I have another favourite for this years Game of the Year I love the art style, the characters, the customization, the costumes, the photo mode, the combat... this is really, truly a gem, and I have no idea how they manage to get this game running this good on the Switch! Real magic going on right here. The investigation is really great too, and I'm glad they didn't go for a full action game, like Bayonetta with no stops between the action. The down time in the city and suburbs are really good, and does a good job at giving the game and the universe charm. And Lappy. Lappy is love. The grand tour, when she pops up all over the place. Had me laughing loud a few times

Just a heads up man, it's 'fussed' not 'fuzzed' (you did the same thing in the VR thread too) Thanks Bob! That's what I get for using words I don't know Btw, do anyone know if you can connect the SNES controller to a PC? Would be nice if you could use it for other games on Steam.

No I haven't and I really don't think I'm likely to. Wait what? That's too bad that you won't even give it a chance of trying it either, seeing as something that really sells VR and convinces people is when they actually try it out. This was kinda like reading about a review of an expensive wine, but then finding out that the reviewer didn't even taste the wine. If you ever get the chance to try it, at a friend, an expo or a store or whatever, I urge you to try it at least once, just so you know what the fuss is about. If not, that's cool too :). Ow, for me it was Elite Dangerous by far! VR brings a whole new element to racing-, flight- and space-sims by letting you actually turn your head and look around. The first time I sat down with a HOTAS and the Oculus Rift DK 2 and started to fly around an asteroid field, I was sold. Can't be beat. That shit is magical, and I do hope everyone gets to try it out some time. It's the first time I've ever felt like "Holy hell, I'm actually in a freakin spaceship!?", and I've been hooked on VR ever since. You speak about there being a lot of hassle for VR by setting it up and having to spend a lot of time with it. I've set up my Oculus Rift CV1 Once, and now it's always ready if I just wanna have a quick go in VR Chat or Pavlov, or if I wanna do some longer sessions in Robo Recall or Lone Echo. So the tech is as easy as putting on some ski googles and you're ready to go. It is actually that easy. Oh and I am a massive first person shooter fan, and I'm currently hooked on Pavlov VR. It brings something completly different to the table. Sure, you could play BF and run around just like we've done since Goldeneye in 1995, or you could put on a headset and actually get good at aiming, doing the entire reload procedure and being more aware of your surroundings. You might call it a gimmick, I call it improvement. Tl;dr I hope you can convince yourself to atleast try it once, seeing as it is a brand new way of playing games, and experiencing game worlds. I've had some incredible moments in VR, and I really do wish everyone else get to experience it themselves.

Sweet, thanks @S.C.G! Ordered two now. Jesus, 13,4 shipping... Sucks that Norway don't have its own Nintendo Store.
-
Your post is from 6 hours ago, and I'm still getting the spinning circle. I'm not too fussed about not getting one, but I would like to order one for a buddy. (and maybe get one myself, why not..) Oh well, I guess I'll see again tomorrow.
-
Gee, thanks for increasing my backlog even further guys.
-
Is that good too? I've seen it time and time again on steam sales, but never picked it up.

Ended up grabbing Transistor, seeing as I still haven't played it yet and it is 90% off on the eShop. Heard great things about that game. And got Untitled Goose Game with my Nintendo Gold Coins 😁 Looking forward to being a proper asshole 😂
