  1. Nintendo Direct (21st June 2023 @ 15:00 BST)

Time to hang out here for a bit again
  2. Virtual Reality

I was hoping no one would notice The physics for that button is a bit off, so I always struggle with it. I keep hopping from one headset to the next, which is nice, but it's also a sign of the VR hardware scene in a nutshell. Never anything that's 100% what I want. If I could have Pico + Quest Pro controllers, I'd be happy for the next years. The Pico is aaaalmost there. But the limitations of inside-out tracking still annoys me. Interesting read. A lot of youtubers and people praise it as the second coming, so it's nice to see some actual reviews with no bias. Even though, it seems like a proper good introduction to VR for new players though, and the more people who try VR, the more mainstream it will become. Hopefully it will spike a big surge of new VR software with actual quality behind it. Resident Evil Village is one that I'd love to try. A full fledged RE game with full VR support? Yes please! Only downside with the system is that we'll probably get an even more split market with more exclusives at Sony and Meta. I wish it was more "VR for everybody!" mentality, but money is money.
  3. Virtual Reality

Okay, so this is not going to be about the PSVR2 (but congrats to everyone who gets one :D), but I recently bought a Pico 4 after considering it for a long, long time. I mainly play PCVR games, so my Quest didnt really exist as a platform for me. No games bought, no risk in switching to another standalone headset. I ended up weighing the pros vs the cons from a PCVR standpoint. And man, oh man, it was the right call. The headset is light, and the form factor is super small compared to the usual fresnel lens headsets. The balance is perfect with the (larger) battery on the back, and the pancake lenses... Oh man, the switch is amazing. The entire lens is the sweetspot, and it's crazy to pop it on and just "see" at once without needing to adjust the headset until I hit the spot. The controllers are better than the Q2. They feel solid, and of great quality, and the tracking is properly good. Q2 level, but a bit better. The fact that the tracking "rings" are to the sides of the controllers makes everything steady. Here's a short video of me testing out the tracking in Pavlov on a 40 m target. On quest, my controllers would have a tiny, tiny shake from just holding them still, making these hits very hard/impossible. I don't get that at all on Pico 4. Now I'm just looking forward to moving house (in about three months) so I can get my PC wired and hook up a router to get the Pico wireless with Virtual Desktop. It's supposedly really well done, and offers an experience on par with, or better than, the HP Reverb G2, which is actually pretty insane. I just hope my PC is powerful enough to handle it
  4. Granblue Fantasy Relink (1st February 2024)

Looks amazing! The combat and combo animations are so well done. Looking forward to playing this sometime... in 2023 maybe.
  5. Virtual Reality

Well, now that they've upped the price, as well as launched a 1500 dollar headset, it might change. This probably doesn't bode well for the price point of the Quest 3 either, and if people go in thinking they're gonna pay 3-400 dollars for that, they're in for a surprise. I think we're looking at a price closer to 6-800 dollars, and that doesn't have foveated rendering or eye tracking.
  6. Virtual Reality

This right here! I was going to post something similar after seeing all the backlash. I mean, it's more or less just the reality. You're not paying for a simple accessory. You're playing for a display with 4K HDR OLED screens, tracking cameras, 90-120 FPS, 2x highly specced out controllers (!!), foveated rendering (!!!), which is better than even most high-end PCVR or standalone VR headsets. You thought this was going to be cheap? Do the math, I'd say. Better to realise that this is a beast on a whole different level than PSVR. That was junk in comparison, and it didn't even come with the complete package. The only thing this device is missing are the new pancake lenses. Other than that it looks to be a top of the line headset, and you get what you pay for here. I'm hoping we'll get this updated or modded for PC as soon as possible, along with support for the eye tracking and controller haptics. That'll probably make this the main headset for a lot of PCVR enthusiasts.
  7. Bayonetta 3 (28th October)

Pasting this from Reddit, which made a lot of sense in my opinion: No matter the outcome, this will only go bad for her future career as a VA, probably won't see many jobs with an attitude like this.
  8. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (29th July 2022)

Excuse me, what??? This makes it way easier! Also I'm in the same boat as you, doing loads of side quests while in chapter 6. Some of them are really good! And i just got Ino, the new DLC hero. Pretty cool character
  9. Bayonetta 3 (28th October)

That looks sooo smooth, and very impressive for a Switch game! I actually really love how Viola looks and play. Going to be a good counter to Bayonetta and Jean. Also, what was with that scene with Jar-head Luca? Hopefully they'll implement more of the cast into the world in this way. Looks fun.
  10. Virtual Reality

BoneLab is out, and it has gotten a bit of a mixed reception. I love it, and am really enjoying the experience as well as the story. There are parts of the game that is hard to understand, especially with the "absolutely no hand holding"-attitude Stress Level Zero has (almost to a fault), but if you get through the hurdles or just try and explore, you can mostly figure it out pretty quickly. I really love the new avatar swapping mechanic, and feel it adds to the flow of the game. Going to play through it first with a clean playthrough before starting to import modded characters and try to mod in my own.
  11. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (29th July 2022)

Also a major shout out to the voice cast, they're killing it in this game. So much emotion in their voice, and it sounds so believable! Crazy good acting. Love that they're still embracing the British Isles-focused voice casting. Not too many actors with as thick of an accent as Nia though, but still varied and with great quality.
  12. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (29th July 2022)

I just finished chapter 5, and I was utterly destroyed. I haven't cried like that in ages.
  13. Virtual Reality

So, surprisingly enough, BoneLab is releasing this week, on thursday. I'm really, really looking forward to it, and seeing where the game goes forward. I really think the way they open up the way for modders will be really awesome, and the avatar stuff looks really, really cool. And that it works on a quest natively is crazy!
  14. Virtual Reality

New headsets from Pico getting an announcment this thursday. Rumored to be shown are the Pico Neo 4 (Quest 2 competitor) and the Pico Neo 4 Pro (Cambria/Quest Pro competitor), with a lot of good upgrades. Pancake lenses, foveated rendering, new controllers, eye and face tracking etc. Rumors are saying the Quest Pro (Project Cambria) will be priced at around $1500, which is insane. The Pico Neo 4 Pro will be significantly less, somewhere between $800-1000. We'll see at the announcement though. Also, for PCVR players, Pico has a great feature where they have a DisplayPort port directly in the headset, which lets you use it as a regular PCVR HMD. No data compression like you get on Quest 2.
  15. Fire Emblem Engage (20th Jan 2023)

I wish there will be skins for the main character, because I honestly can't stand that combination of colors. If they'd been more subtle, or toned down, or just one of them be toned down, I could probably roll with it. But they're both too... dominant to work together. Ugh.
  16. Virtual Reality

PSVR2 hands on previews now, and Meta Connect in a month? A lot of stuff is starting to happen in the VR scene
  17. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (29th July 2022)

I'm scared of coming into this thread. But I just wanted to say that I love this game I'm about the same level as most of you here, at the start of chapter 5, level 50 on all characters and doing sidequests more than the actual story. It's been a blast so far, and how they've managed to polish the game to this level on the switch is beyond me. Just having 7 main characters on screen at once while batteling 1-10 monsters where all hell breaks loose is mind boggling. Also, I want Eunie to step on me and Sena to lift me.
  18. Bayonetta 3 (28th October)

New, extended trailer from todays Nintendo Direct. Looks absolutely bonkers, very ambitious and way over the top! I love the look of it all Viola looks like a cool character to play as, with quite a different approach than Bayonetta. And Bayonettas new moves looks insane. Love that she changes way more with her weapons this time around. I'm getting very hyped for this game!
  19. The amounts of life simulators and Square Enix JRPGs in this Direct are insane
  20. I'm sitting here tossing coal into the engine! Time for (moderated) hype!!!
  21. Relive the epic tale of Xenoblade Chronicles, the Wii classic from 2011! Coming some time in 2020, with updated graphics using the engine from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (not sure if it uses the original or Torna) and with less derpy faces, this will be sure to bring back some good memories! Xenoblade Chronicles is regarded by many as one of the best JRPG in recent times. I never got around to finishing it on the Wii, so I'm really feeling it this time! Here is the reveal trailer: And here is Gamexplain comparing the original to the updated engine: Can't wait to listen to those tracks again. The music in this game is legendary!
  22. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (29th July 2022)

First Switch game I've bought in years. Looking forward to playing it tonight!
  23. Virtual Reality

Yeah, that's kinda weird for a 2 year old product to go up $100 in price. Makes me wonder if this is done to let the quest line be more afforable and to ease in a higher price for the Quest 3 when it comes out next year. Still a bad decision in my book. Anyone else seen the dumpster fire that is the newest VRchat update? Store page is getting review bombed, and the developers are more or less out of touch with the community, putting up restrictions to using mods (where the majority is used for accessibility functions). Will be interesting to see how this affects VRchat, and if it will remain the biggest social VR platform in the future or not. I think it's a vocal minority at this point, and that it will have some effect on users, but not by a large amount.
  24. PC Gaming Discussion

Congrats! You're going to see quite a big bump in preformance, that's for sure I went from a 1070 to a 3080 my self, and it's such a beast!
  25. PC Gaming Discussion

That usually means this fall. But there's also rumors of them postponing the launch because of the terrible 30-series demand, so now might be as good time as any to snag up a good card for a decent price @martinist. I would definitly recommend you go for a 3070 though, to have a card that'll last you a longer while.
