Or how about doing the job? It's not a forever-thing. It's a job. Do it, give yourself a week to settle in and if you don't like it then quit. That's the worst-case scenario. You'll learnsomething new, and you'll feel that jobs are actually possible. I say accept it!

I think the mentality in Brighton is that most people support two teams - someone in the Prem for whatever reason, but always proud for Brighton to do well, too. It's weird though. Certain teams I find are 'acceptable' to support - man u, chelsea, liverpool, arsenal. There were outsider fans here and there as I grew up - spurs, west ham, everton... for little reason other than a certain player or kit at a certain point in their lives.

Oh, man. I was proper nervous before clicking -- 2-2! I got to accept that considering I was away from home. The match description was fairly boring/standard. The x11 for the week is 5 of my players and 6 of cubes, with me taking manager of the round. I love how everyone on my team played completely out of their socks for what was essentially the most important game of the season. Friday's return leg is crucial! Aaaah!

Are you saying you were going to play your youth keeper against me during the double? Cheeky :P

First bunch of images for 'jonnas genteman mafia' :P

Just realised I've got £20 vouchers for HMV. HMV online is £37 so i'd be paying an affordable £17 (damn you £26 PC game!)... teeeemptiiing. Can I ask, though, what's the gamelength like? Not just for story but for collecting/completing achievements?

Tomorrow I'm working 9-1 in one job then 3-12 in another and I'm really looking forward to it! Unfortunately MOTD2 was mega-important today so I may've had a couple of glasses of wine and may be a little hungover tomorrow BUUUT my gf is back from her holiday and I have a working phone so mmmmm texty text text!

Next we'll see a thread where mummy is asking if we've got our scarves and gloves ready for winter. Or asking us if EEVIL is spending his internet time productively. On topic; my diet is mostly pizza/pasta. If there's a good deal, I'll get a few curries for the freezer and probably eat all of them in consecutive meals. I don't make curries any more simply because I don't buy much chicken and beef mince curries seem a bit wrong.

14 to 13 is one, 13 to 12 is another one, so that's two. If you went from 10 stone 4 to 10 stone 3 you wouldn't say you've lost two pounds!

Ok. So direct context, yes I was specifying the whole birthdate thing. I'll clear it up a little; people are being born in a world where the walkman is a thing of the past, where the twin towers were never standing. I was born, and raised in the prime for the walkman, and I knew of life without the fear of terrorists. I do find it rather oblique and lame that you choose to point out inaccuracies rather than recognising a sentiment made. Antagonistic roles are laden with duties for pedantry... but it's still something that drags out a sigh when my post wasn't exactly threatening in any way :P SMILEY TONGUE FACE POINT IN FACE CASE

Man. I try to avoid results all day in order to savour MOTD, but my gf's dad was all "you don't know the score?!" and it was clear that a team defied teh odds and thrashed a team. Knowing the fixtures, my gut told me that city had beaten Man U severely... honestly, I used to be a Man U fan and I tend to say I'm a neutral these days... but that match was hard to watch. I've been saying all season that this fixture will decide who wins the league and I think it's very true. City proved that they had the hunger and the drive and the squad to excel while Man U really seem to be a bit of a thrift team - a decent squad, but - especially when you look at their champs games - spread rather thin, and perhaps proof that their lacklustre transfer market scourings are taking their toll. City to win the league now. Fairly comfortably. Alan Hansen was saying that City haven't had to play a match 'up against it', but I think man U have been playing the whole season like a team that is kind of out-reaching for their ability, and they're not really comfortable. The stats for Man U's loss are unbelievable. Great drama!

That... doesn't... negate my point... Congratulations..?

There's two sides to this, as we've already discussed; the 'rose-tinted nostalgia' that every generation encounters when they realise that everything is in a constant state of flux, there's something slightly unreal about trying to recognise that other people have minds and experiences, and that's just made even more absurd when you realise that you can have a full conversation with someone born into a world after 9/11, after mobile phones and after walkmans and after Home Alone and blue sachets in crisps with real money in and so on. It's basically impossible to comprehend being born in any other era, and as Eddie said, it doesn't half make you feel old when you start reminiscing! That state of naivity/innocence, of an age before unlimited and unfiltered information at your fingertips. I think it's important to try not to assume the past is better, or to assume that the scale is somehow the same. The measure has changed, and it won't stop changing. What is important to note is that no matter how different the world is there is a stability in the human's ability to respond to stimuli in whatever emotive or imaginative way. While specific experiences may be long dead -- I'll never experience watching a movie at the cinema whilst being allowed to smoke -- they are surely experiences that are composed of other elements of experience that can be experienced, so there's no true loss involved aside from, in a way, mere bragging rights of having actually experienced the image in question... as if that even matters anyway. Yeah...

You're right - for some reason I got confused and thought discussions could continue during the night, but the rules strictly say that non-game-related duscussion is allowed only. I'll accept any punishment in order to preserve the purity

The couple-friends that me and my girlfriend have been on caravan holidays with have recently moved in to a flat about 20 mins away (I helped lug the heavy shit up 6 flights of stairs!). Tonight I went over and had a cooked meal and played disney trivial pursuit and WON (with my mate, as his girlfriend thought he was rubbish and refused to go on his team). Earlier today my mate came over and we played darksiders, pac-man CE and peggle. Just generally having a nice time now my phone works again. Can't believe how lonely I was without it. Also bumped into my mate's ex-bf on the way home and he gave me his number for anytime I want "a cup of tea and a spliff" when I'm in his neck of the woods... probably won't take him up on that. But yeah! Overall, despite money being shit, had a nice saturday! Tomorrow hopefully I get to see my girl as she's back from her hols. Maybe convince her to cut my hair, too :P For now I will try and find where I left off with House...

Oh what was that? Yeah. You're all idiots. if I die tonight then please check the individuals I quoted last phase as suspects.
-
To clarify; I am vocalising my suspects, not saying that everyone I've mentioned is mafia, just that they've ignored something which I think is proof of innocence. It's nothing to do with not wanting to be idle, rummy, it's to do with Cube's post where he explains himself. There are plenty of other explanations - perhaps cube is mafia, but he'd have to have contact with someone completely innocent in order to provide the proof he did, and if that's the case then someone here will know of that link and they should be suspicious of Cube. I know I'm not explaining it perfectly, but frankly the whole point of this is that the innocent will know what I'm talking about if they read cube's post, and the mafia will not :P if I clarify any further then it defeats the whole point. It may indeed be that people are not paying hard enough attention - but I can't spell it out.

He posted a picture of himself looking like an idiot/moron/stupid, and said "share this with all the mongs you know". The point is that idiot/moron/whatever is a part of our language that has no power to directly offend any party at all. however, 'mong' is still a word that is in limbo. Generally speaking, nobody has used the world for nearly a decade, so while he argues that his use is similar to 'moron', the fact is that the last popular use of the word was still derogative, while words like imbecile, idiot, moron, etc have made the transition from an actual labelling term to a floundering word for mindlessness in some form or another. Gervais is actually arguing that the word is already without any negative meaning. He refuses to accept that it may still have some root in offense. Generally I believe that offense is something often felt but rarely intended, however there is an element of sensitivity about offense, and I do just think that Gervais has misunderstood just how word meanings change. Just because a word hasn't been used for a decade does not mean it immediately shifts to an inoffensive term. Too bleh to communicate effectively. ultiamtely I think Gervais did not explain himself properly, did not show proper understanding of the shifting meaning of words/ Bleh.

We're with you R_A. Best wishes.

Rummy and Nintendohnut are suspects for me. Dannyboy is trustworthy as he clearly understands - as does diageo. Diageo -- consider not how the others 'may' know the same thing, instead look specifically at how certain members have clearly not recognised it, and try to see how that's dodgy. I think it's far more dodgy that they fail in this respect than it is dodgy that cube presents it.

5-0 - another clean sheet, but more importantly I won with a wider margin than my rivals did. As cube said, this double will decide who wins the league. I repeat it, but the only points I've dropped are when I forgot to set my tactics -- and even then it was a 0-0 draw. Comerade co-op scored against me and I'm sure Cube will, too. Cube has the strongest team in the league. I do wonder how much of a difference my team has playing away first -- I think we'll taste our first defeat of teh season... but I think I have a better midfield and a better defense - our keepers are perhaps even, but I think he has a better strike force. My prediction is 3-1 to cube for the first match and 2-0 on the return leg. I am fairly sure I'll take my fair share of points -- but it's certain that this double header decides 1st and 2nd place in the lower league.
