  1. The first level's tricky bit (in terms of being spotted) is right at the end when you dive into the water. If you hear the dischord ring out then you got spotted (you probably knew that already). It's a different game when you play it this way, and it may take a lot more reloading. Some of the missions are really testing, and I can imagine reverting to the ordinary blink will be frustrating. Also consider avoiding even knocking out the guards - the number of times I had to replay missions because a body was somehow spotted, even though I'd knocked out everyone... was maybe twice but still..!
  2. I don't know that pub Flink! I'm not great with that end of town and up Elm Grove way. I've returned to Brighton myself! Good to be back! Did some xmas shopping/catch-up sesh with a friend today. Got confused by exchange rates and may not have gotten the best deal (most likely), and the bank is being a dick about me trying to give them money, and my PAYG sim card is being a dickhead and I don't know if it's because my phone went off whilst it was connecting to 3 but it won't let me send anytexts annndd yeah this is Bad Stuff territory!
  3. It's not true. Source: Back home in brighton, and I checked!
  4. I know it's harsh, but maybe you should've waited 'til after she gave you xmas presents then broken up with her. She got you AC3 for no reason so xmas gifts would've been ace! ... Pretty soulless thing to do, I know.
  5. Back from a nice meal that was a joint xmas gathering combined with a goodbye farewell adios bon voyage thing. Thai restaurant. Food too salty. I was promised it was MSG-free but I have to admit I'm worried. ANYWAY GOOD NEWS! I got given a bunch of presents, totally unexpected, including a set of my very own U360 headset that I've been in love with for weeks! Cost something like $200 so it was such a nice surprise. Big annoying to take in my luggage though :P I have also acquired two new tutoring pupils! I may also be aiding one of them long-distance while I'm not in Australia. I charge $50 an hour and last year with this kid I was doing three $100 sessions a week in the month leading up to his big exams. Aiaiaiaiiaiii!
  6. It was july and it was fairly chilly... after 10 months you kinda get used to it -- but yeah it doesn't really feel like xmas due to the 35 degree weather... I'm heading home tomorrow though so no xmas bbq for me!
  7. I went into a bookshop for a random browse and, unfortunately for me, they had loads and loads of those awesome 'unusual' things dotted about the place. I purchased a book of idioms for an octogenarian whom invites me round for lunch on occasion (we have recently started an obsession with guessing origins for known phrases). I also purchased a bunch of things that, truthfully, I haven't a specified recipent for... yet. A compass, a wee 3D globe jigsaw, two mint plants in a can, two kite things, 365 joke memo organiser thing... a snowman THAT MELTS (alien concept, I know)... and I'm sure other stuff. I also discovered a £20 waterstones giftcard that I'll either re-gift or use to buy a couple of books to spread the joy... Organised a big shopping day on wednesday at 9am -- which is a !!! considering I'm arriving home at 6am tuesday and I have no idea how good/bad the travelling will do me. I'll be glad when it's over. @Emma Dan will be pleased with those gifts! If he's not then send them my way. Putting them RIGHT THERE TO SEE is such a cruel, cruel thing to do. High five! I'm doing xmas cash-in-hand which is painful. Combined with travelling a few days before xmas, weight limit on baggage and an aversion to shopping due to shitty eyes that only get worse when it's dark = NIGHTMAAARE SEASON... Cheers & Thanks to you, too...!
  8. I'm probably 4/5ths of teh way through the game now..? Finding it's suffering a bit of Deus Ex: Human Revolution syndrome; I can basically walk through much of the game thanks to the upgrades you can buy (found a couple of blatant farm spots but didn't overly milk 'em), except for the 'bosses'. Just the last two, really, but they have attack sequences that basically mean they knock you down in 1/2 hits, then by the time you've healed yourself they're half-way through the sequence and they knock you over again. I'm failing to flow well, I guess. Great game for the price though!
  9. Ha! That was what I said to him when he came home yesterday with the phone. He is leading a double life!
  10. Oh god. Please tell me that's xmas #1 this year :P
  11. My cousin is having an extremely lucky year. He found an ipod touch on a bus, got in touch with the owners and they said "meh keep it we got a replacement." He found a Nokia N8 on a train and, again, the owners said keep it. He won a set of Sennheiser U320 gaming headset at a gaming expo worth a coupla hundred bucks. And the biggest win? yesterday he went to the arcade and played that stacking game where you have to line up the squares as they light up... and won. Top prize? Samsung S3! I did immediately think "I should ask him for some lottery numbers," but I can't play over here :P
  12. The river crusts were ridiculous! Too strong. A well-placed grenade does the trick but they weren't utilised very effectively. The game is very short, I concur! But there is loads of replayability - achievements/trophies push you to try a few variations, and they work a treat! The world was a modernised Discworld and I found it such a joy to just wander around, eavesdrop, scope out the art. The world was excellently fleshed out and realised, considering the shortness of the game. But one of the surprises of the year (for me).
  13. I think I got Double Agent for $5 (£3.50ish - I know that's not your currency, Magnus, sorry :P) and had to stop playing after 5 mins because it was hurting my eyes. It's approaching next-gen season so I'll wait and see about that sort of thing!
  14. Goddamn all these trilogies that I gotta get now! Awesome! ... Though I did suck at hitman in the past. Perhaps my older, more stealth-inclined self will do better. Splinter Cell trilogy (quadrilogy?) too, please.
  15. @Wii please note That's taken from the rules. I will send you a PM shortly.
  16. Life is currently approaching that part of the book where there's a bunch of photos acting as an interlude to the story. I'm in the middle of this Australia chapter and I'm coming home to the UK for 4 months. 3 days before my flight and a mate says he's convinced his girlfriend to switch shifts so they can pick me up from the airport at 6am. I posted on FB with an outside hope, and it paid off! Now all I gotta do is pack, figure out xmas presents that I can get here, and try not to panic.
  17. just passing through Yup - some vigilant mod removed "Cheap New Era Hats is for sale here. This hat is for someone who are looking for cheap hats. Most of our customers said the design is very nice and quality is very good." I think your vote for them ended up getting them banned, ergo you have some sort of dodecouplet vote - vote: DuD!! Just kidding, I'm not even here.
  18. Aw man, not the best thing to discover when it's approaching 1am! Beautiful picture! Just... so many animals... so far away... so tricky for my first 'classification'.
  19. Walking Dead on sale you say? Schweeet! It's banned here in Australia so I'll be glad to snap it up on home soil. If the Lego games on demand are a reasonable price then I may get them too... and Mark of the Ninja - sorted
  20. @Wii you're quite an angry person, aren't you?
  21. My cousin is similar to that - he bought/borrowed Fallout 3 and didn't like it. Red Dead Redemption. Mass Effect 3. Bioshock. Dishonored. Darksiders... Nope nopety nope nope! He likes assassin's creed, gears, halo, COD -- I'd not say he was a typical frat bro, just that he isn't forgiving with his games -- he doesn't want a timesink or a game where he has to learn a whole new skillset or eat up a catalogue of menus. He wants immediacy and he wants direction and he wants epiiiic stuff.
  22. (my least favourite panel is the "This is ridiculous" panel C.
  23. This is brilliant. It's mostly funny because it's random, though -- but still brilliant. I'm too lazy to copy/paste each picture for the 'good' ones, plus I think it's kinda the process of randomising the comics that makes them great, so posting them for others may not garner as much of a reaction.
  24. Just saw that - absolutely fantastic! Can't believe there's a top flight team who potentially have zero fans watching the game. What a farce! That guy is a legend now.
