People at work are going to try and get me and Hot Girl together. It's going to be awful, I can tell already. She's in tomorrow and I've got a day off, and she's off on thurs when I'm back in again. Shiiit... Good day at work in general - getting more respect from colleagues, and got three 3-2-1's correct and earned my name on the lottery board, which I am actually gleeful about thus showing my corruption at being employed. Shorty's knocking on my front door - he's lifting me to his to watch the new HOUSE. BOOYAAAAAAAAAA bye. I think you probably hate me -- but dare you meet the rest of the sheff crew at some point?

Yeah I was initially hoping for that job-frogging idea. Still might happen. I think this'll be a sleeper hit, and we'll all grow to love comic book guy.- 3920 replies

Led Zeppelin - Ramble On is one I know fits, anyway. There's a quote where dean can't decide which song is his favourite - that or Robert Johnson-Traveling Riverside Blues. I'm fairly sure they had wolfmother in season 4 - it's definitely a Deadesque sound, considering they sound a bit like Led Zepp :P Here's a Supernatural music guide for the first 3 seasons that might give you help...

Glad I got a proper mention this week :P I've set my tactics, but if I wake up and go straight to my 'pooter I'll probably change them again. Feeling very nervous. Need these mofo points! Can someone (ell? ReZ?) text me the results tomorrow? Working 'til late.

Housemates all got in from a night out and woke me the fuck up. One dude came into my room with a gas mask and boiler suit on, but I just said "dude, I gotta get up in 4 hours, go to bed" and he left without hassle. Turns out my room is probably in the worst place in the house -- I can hear all the other doors slam open and shut, I can hear people running up and down the stairs... So I got up and grabbed a beer and drank with the dudes for a bit, waving away their apologies. I've had two-ish hours sleep and will have another 4-ish before I gotta go to work, and it's not so bad. Everyone's excited to re-start uni/be together and stuff so I got to allow for this. Might slam a few doors in the morning mind you. Murray: Yeah I think I'll interpret what you say as "you should take it slow." I figure I'll not instigate anything for a while. She's been telling me for a while that she wants to see (500) days of summer, but if I ask her to see it with me... well I just think cinemas aren't a great place for a date, especially because I'm night-blind. Sure, It'd get her to take my hand and guide me to my seat, but we're essentially spending 2+ hours in silence. Never great. Weeyellowbloke: Sock wrestling sounds interesting but a bit tricky to do during work. She's just suggested boxing. She might be a keeper. *continues dreaming*

I AM DRUNK. I have had the equivelant to a pint of 30% alcohol. Two 7.5% cans of 500ml, two 250ml 5%, two 4% ciders, then one 4.5% pint. I drank in a social environment with people I have conversed with sober. All the alcohol did was make us comment on the fitness of the younger ladies in the pub. We could've done it sober but we would've been more annoyed at the noise and the atmosphere. I never spent more than £1.50 on a pint tonight, roughly the same as a can of relentless, and I think the effect from the alcohol was worth more than the effect from the stimulents. Bleh. OK my maths is probably wrong.

Ok, so my day! At work, one of the hot girls challenged me to an arm wrestle. I beat her twice. Then she wanted a thumb-war. I beat her twice. So she's cool with touching me. What's the next step? I do not know. Came home, drank some cider, went to pub to meet up with a sorta-course mate and his twin brother. Complained about all the freshers then...well I'm here now. Been reading The Gunslinger, the first book in the Dark Tower series. Good reading so far (Dan Dare; you'd like it), and been continuing with Mad Med season 2. Got work early tomorrow so trying desparately not to stay up too late. Hoping Hot Girl is at work tomorrow too. Uni site wouldn't let me re-enrole. Fuckity fuck. Etc. Life's continuing in its regular no-holds-barred way. Shit keeps popping up to deal with. Seeing all the freshers out tonight makes me remember how naive I was 3 years ago. I guess we're all just pottering about, getting used to this 'responsibility', this world of Things That Must Be Done. I wish I was done.

wtf stick to the units on the bottle?! Dude, alcohol does not taste good. The modern primary purpose of the substance it to get drunk. You do not get drunk from 3 units a day. Anyone can socialise sober. Socialising while off your face pissed is where the challenge is at.

Watched Bored To Death - a calamitous detective story that I'm attracted to because it's clearly attuned to me. The main dude (played by Jason Schwartzman, who was in The Darjeeling Limited) Jonathan Ames (same name as the show's writer, and also J Ames... my name duh) has stacks of books in his room (like me) drinks too much (like me) and is struggling to write a novel (like me)... so yeah I'm immediately interested (look! Brackets!). Basically his girlfriend leaves him and he puts an ad on Gumtree (he's bored or lost in life, or something. Not really any reasoning besides a stack of books falling over and Raymond Chandler being first to catch his eye) saying "I'm a private detective, I don't really have any qualifications but I'm cheap," and of course he gets a case. Oh, and there's TED DANSON! There's a whimsical-well-that's-life feel to it, with a quaint nod-or-twelve to the noir genre, with people not really knowing how much money they're supposed to accept in exchange for info, and with J. Ames' hotel sign-in name, etc etc... Hard to tell where it'll go just yet, though no-doubt it'll be a season of situational mishaps, subtle digs and winks at the genre. Good stuff. Yeah I suck at reviews. Though I do that that Ashley may well enjoy the show. Dunno if you've thought about watching it or whatever- 3920 replies

My point is that if you and others vote for BNP in 'protest' then all you're going to do is encourage the other main parties to emulate the BNP.
-
I'll help you out mate What day is it arriving? Get it re-delivered to our old local PO or my house and you can pick it up from mine no hassle.

I don't see how a growing vote percentage for BNP will make the other parties change teh way you want them to. If anything the other parties will just become more like the BNP, which surely is the wrong idea? If you vote for green party, and the reds and blues go "holy shit, people wanna be green, let's be a bit more eco-friendly and liberal!" then... well that's surely a better end result.

tbf he just took the quote from Black Books -- but applied it excellently!

I like alcohol. It is a fun, numbing absolution. *lights a cigarette* Pure lies. *stubs it out in EEVILMURRAY's face*

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Sheep. Curtained myself into a dipshit of a brasier, faking sense since '98 from god-knows where, but I blame my mates. Picked a trip to timbuktu for a frightful plight at the local zoo. Harnesses and clarinets avail my every step, but blemishes and clementines are harder to interpret, so I guess I'll try to confess each falsity I beget, each molehill of a mess, each mountain I digest and each new path I digress. To make do with me and you until the time comes when I can confront the part of the ocean that clashes with the sea. The glacier's gratitude, the canyon's regret. The air's platitudes of being unzipped by the clouds, trailing from the sky jet. The beetle's supper, the crow's lent. . Give me the answers! Pay my rent.

Derren Brown's "I'm failing the nation" series
jayseven replied to EEVILMURRAY's topic in General Chit Chat
He once had a live show where he had a member of the audience stand and give her responces to his question "think of an animal" and she said "mouse," and he replied "now the rest of the audience were thinking 'elephant'..." and I was thinking elephant. There's a different response when you're actually involved in the situation to the one we have as spectators.
