New show Persons Unknown started in the US last night, just watched teh first episode. It's one of those "what the hell's going on?!" type shows that wants to take some of Lost's fans and give them a warm, soothing bath and whisper "it's ok, shhh...." in their ear. This introductory episode can be summarised fairly easily; bunch of varied people wake up in a ghost town that they can't leave where nobody knows what is happening. Starring a-bunch-of-familiar-yet-unnameable-faces who all act as if they've only been given a one-line bio of their character (which may've been true anyway). I guess the idea is that we, the audience, gets to know the characters as they get to know each other, but they're pushing the paranoid trust-noone tone too much, and the camerawork profoundly annoyed me throughout because the show's premise deserves thoughtful, intelligent shots rather than the constant cutting/handheld 'action' style they've gone with. However, I'd say this offers more hope than Harper's Island, and it hasn't played too big a card in its first episode a lá Flashforward. Definitely worth adding to my weekly roster. Also! Breaking Bad's s03 e12 proves once again the shows pedigree -- it is simply the most stunning thing on tv -- I mean that in the sense that shit happens that paralyses you emotionally, which pajchair so often only allude to. This season I thought we were going to have a slow-burning, Duel-esque stalking of the prey, instead we're seeing that Walt's is still one long breaking point. MAD!

DuD: fantastic win for you there. I'd say you'd be better off going for a bit of dev. against shorty and seeing how the league looks before thinking/worrying about what to do against Mcoy. Kinda wishing I had VIP again. It was so useful -- especially with player form graphs. Currently most of my players' forms seem to go from one extreme to the other. Fingers crossed my 20 4 defender (who scored two goals today!) gets a +2 at the least. He's played nearly every game at 6/7 skill as it is, and his development value is 17. My 'awesome' keeper's had a bit of a dodgy season. I think he's on the turn, so I may just actually sell him and invest in someone who is awesome, but without the apostrophes. Going to consider getting an official team again. I don't really know why I stopped. I guess it never really felt like my team. If we had longer seasons, would our players get more time for development, or is the amount of development set to a max per season, if you know what I mean?

It's always a treat when you see a fox in town. Usually they're half-way down the street crossing the road, turning to look at you like that wolf in Collateral. One time I was walking towards my house in Brighton after a nightbus back from town. A short way ahead of me was a fox, who'd just run out from an alley. He didn't seem to spot me, instead just trotted the same way I was going in that casual-rushed way that foxes run - like someone who's running late but doesn't like actually running in front of people. Well anyway, we're approaching my house and I've gained on the fox -- and it stops and sees me, so I stop as well... then it turns into my garden path. I was barely seconds behind it but when I got to my garden I couldn't see it, and now whenever I walk home at night I always think some fox will be sitting there, waiting for me. Probably to eat me. Wow, I made a meal of that 'story'.

- turns out that apparantly there's some scavvy 14 year old kid that has been frequently passing by our house just to steal the fag-ends I throw away when I smoke. he's been suspected in teh past, but today my housemate witnessed the kid rife through the disposed butts, compile a 'best of' rollie and then proceed to wait RIGHT BY MY FRONT DOOR with it, presumably for me to go out for a cigarette as he didn't have a lighter. If you'd seen my front door you'd know how weird/creepy it'd be if he just waited outside. Just hte other side of teh wall. ugh! My current sheffield/brighton 'drama' (that only I care about) has shifted towards staying in sheff. A mate, who is autistic and frankly stressful to be around for prolongued periods of time, has said he needs a place in sheff at the same time as me -- so i was all "yay, two-bed flat, cool, sweet, a return to form - familiar and friendly settings" etc, etc... then i get a text from him the other day saying, effectively, he's bumped into to random people that he once met at a rave, and they wany somehwere new to live, so he's assumed I'm cool with it and has told them all about me and our POSSIBLE plan to move in/look for a place. Then TONIGHT I get a text saying tomorrow night we're all meeting to discuss housing options. I'm all WTF as I just spent a year living with strangers and tbh I just want to sit in my room and be comfortable SO FUCK YOU STRANGERS! I also spent the day watching Kenny Vs. Spenny s06, the last ep of Breaking Bad (s03e12 -- Sooo good -- good enough, in fact, for me to go straight on amazon and order a copy of the first season to be sent to my dad as he HAS to watch it. YOU ALL DO. It's too good at the shocking drama), and now working my way through s01 of True Blood before finally succumbing to the night. Got up at 7am this morning after 3 hours sleep so I've been pushing it all day TEE ELL DEE ARR: Your mother prefers it to-the-point, too.

I'd put some money on joker having a 'cameo' in the third movie, somewhat akin to his mention in teh first. He'll make an appearance via some newspaper headline or a mention on a scrollbar on a news report, grafitti on a billboard, etc, etc, you get the gist. Seriously, I wonder what sort of odds I'd get for that...

My completed games list is; Lost, Banjo kazooie, condemned, Assassin's creed 2 and MW2. I think I have a fairly typical range, there. For me, a lot of the achievements I don't have for a lot of games are online ones, where the game makers are essentially trying to bribe me for my free time.

I went to a bbq this afternoon, drank some homebrew cider that was stronger than it tasted, told my new joke (I now know TWO!), played some COD (beat everyone) and some guitar hero then got a cab home, watched twin peaks and... wow it's late again! Aaah unlucky! I hate it when I lose something. Even though I'm a 'messy' person, my mess tends to be sorta organised -- there are piles dotted around my room, and if I want to find something specific then I know it can be in one of three places. When tidy people lose something, they lose all hope of ever finding it again. Well over the last year I've become numb to the typical 'stealing'. Toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo, onions, general food, etcetcetc. I will be glad to move on from this place.

Performing in front of the queen is undenyably a dream come true. Just not necessarily mine.

I woke up to see my new cardboard sign of "You STILL owe me" had been altered to "you'RE still Gowe-ing DOWN SmeD". I changed it to "you're still gowe-ing downTOWN TO BUY PERSIL LIQUITABS FOR smed". Not sure how far this one can go. Spilt a glass of water during my falling-asleep, went all over the plug sockets. Freaked out. Housemate who 'accidentally' took my copy of assassin's creed home with him must've taken my fallout 3 and my fallout 3 DLC disc, too. The fucker. Can't really be sure if he's not got any of my other games as honestly I don't know what games are my own ones half the time. And at some point in my sleep I've managed to lose my phone. Usually when I go to bed it lives in one place -- under my pillow. Not being there this morning, I presume it is under my bed somewhere... but I've yet to find it. It's on vibrate and I'm literally sitting here waiting for someone to text me...

Promotion is safe, I don't think I'll win the title though. EDGED a win today despite fielding my worst possible team. Do not like the idea of playing against the likes of noodle or roostophe next season at all...

Turns out my coursemate and her boyfriend are people I should've met 4 years ago. I went to their place after work/pub and we played Resi 4 and Smash bros (currently undefeated on their console, oh yeeaaah!). They are into the same books/movies as me, suggestested only the graphic novels I've already read and wish to watch shows I've already seen... Love these guys already. Managed to stumble home by myself -- only to realise I'd left my keys at theirs, ensuing a 45 minute-round trip to collect access to my own place. Subsequently I've watched the latest Ultimate Fighter and am finishing the pilot to Twin Peaks (weird), and my friday is essentially xpert11 followed by potential bbq, as well as general harassment to a housemate who owes me £70, another who stole my copy of assassin's creed, and another housemate who was foolish enough to use up the last of my persil tabs. Clearly the whole house has been using them.... but now I have concrete evidence to prove one housemate alone owes me clean clothes. Last night I drew "U OWE ME!!!" on the carcass box and left it by the kettle, today teh box is nowhere to be seen, but there was only one other housemate in to use the tabs and to throw the box away, so classical and comical confrontation shall ensue. P.S. I love my ex-girlfriend. But where shall I live come july? A new friend has offered his flatemateship. I need to decide by sat 12th june...

Every time you break out a pun, you speak in a contrived manner so the audience knows to expect a bad joke. There is no foreplay to the jokes! If I were you, I'd have all the puns I could think written down, then try and do one long sketch that fits them all in, preferrably with dialogue and, if we're lucky, an essence of plot as well. I'll go through and point out each moment where it's too long when I come back from work.

For some reason I've spent 30 minutes 'catching up' with comedy rainbow. - Each episode is too long - Each segment is too long - Each line is too long By this I mean there's no need for any of the pauses. They just cumulate and annoy and detract from any intended dead-pan tone. People aren't going to sit and watch it for the full 10 minutes. Just be snappy, dammit!

Logorama - won the 2010 oscar for Best animated short. It's pretty cool.
