Yep, definitely a good idea and thank you to @GenericAperson for posting your Super Mario Maker videos, I can see how a lot of your courses could benefit from the extra features in Super Mario Maker 2... for instance, I think you mention during your 2D remake of Hazy Maze Cave that there weren't red coins available? (Its been a while since I played SMM as well) But they could be added in SMM2 so I think it will be interesting to see what new features can be added to existing courses, even if they have to be remade for the new game. @Dcubed definitely a good idea, I don't feel like I'd have much to showcase myself but if yourself and @RedShell wanted to do something similar then that would be cool. I'm happy to help promote unique article ideas like this for the main site, so long as everything is up on YouTube then we can just embed the videos, have a bit of commentary and then link back to the forum, keep the conversation going and this should work out well for everyone as it will increase the exposure of the videos on all related channels and gets the creative courses out there as well.

Speaking of those initial issues, a statement was recently released regarding it... I think waiting is definitely a good idea, however I'm definitely going to get right on playing the game once the Switch version arrives as at least the 1.02 update will be active.

Metroid Zero Mission & Metroid Fusion Purely for their time of release and the lasting legacy they've left behind, still every bit as playable today as they were on the GBA and they look amazing on the big screen.

Hopefully by the time the Switch version arrives, it will be patched to the latest version immediately, it still sucks that people playing it on day one/zero have to start again though. You'd have thought that the patch might have been put out a little earlier, especially as review codes were blatantly sent out earlier still because of course they were. I'm just really anxious to play the game now, especially after backing it, I know the Switch version will have a reduced framerate but it still looks like it will play well. I really can't wait to see how it holds up and if the differences really are that great then I may well end up double-dipping even after backing it.

I wasn't sure where to put this, so I've made a thread... though this is sad news indeed. Metroid Prime lead technical engineer Andy O'Neil has passed away, aged 47 He's said to be the man responsible for making Samus' morphball movements in 3D a reality. Other accolades include working on the Turok series and of course porting many landmark titles across at the studio he co-founded, Bluepoint. R.I.P. Andy O'Neil, your contributions to the game industry and to the people who knew you best will surely never be forgotten. Check the article for more details and use this thread to share condolonces, memories of the games Andy worked on or anything else which would be appropriate. I'll admit that while I didn't really know of everything that he did, I do recall seeing his name in the credits in Metroid Prime along with everyone else who made the game. From everyone here at N-Europe, we'd like to pass on our thoughts to Andy's family and friends at this sad time.

Speaking of Easy Allies... It's time! -
Wow, it has been so long since the Kickstarter and it's great to see so many positive impressions coming in. I've been kept well in the loop as a backer but because its been so long I kind of put it to the back of my mind because I trust the developer. Now that it is out... the hype is finally real and each video that I watch I'm just thinking to myself... I want to play this game now! I know it won't be long, I know I've got other games to play but this is going to be top of the pile when it arrives.

Another high quality video from Sega Lord X featuring the best looking Sega Saturn games. Some truly amazing titles in there, I've played a fair few of them but I wouldn't mind trying out some of those games we didn't get over here at some point.
-
I can't wait for this, I also backed it on day one, went with the Alchemist's Treasure tier so that I'd get a physical copy which should be for the Switch with any luck. They're sending out the games first and the extras later, hopefully I should have the game by the end of the month, so we'll likely have a review of it in July. I'm very eager to play it though.

Fair point, I just thought they did really well under the circumstances but I might have been being a bit hyperbolic I still enjoyed the video though but I hope the Carpet Awards return. As for what's the deal with Ian wearing lipstick and painting his nails... I guess he likes to do those things and so, he does. I'm not sure if there's much else to say really, but Ian's great and as are the rest of the Easy Allies, they all add something to the lineup... Ben - is the most enthused I've seen anyone for anything anime related in general, also cats Brandon - is the business side of things, knows about trailers and Star Wars/Disney hype Bloodworth - is responsible for co-ordinating everything, driving game enthusiast Brad - keeps it real most of the time, likes Soulsborne games more than most Damiani - is the Nintendo/Final Fantasy/MMO guy, has had some great podcasts Don - is the film guy, best B-roll in the biz and an exceptional story-teller Huber - is hype personified, really likeable guy... Resident Evil, Evil Within, Shenmue & Yakuza, let's go! Ian - seems to be the most compassionate of all the Allies, exceptional on the technical side as well Kyle - is really creative (see Box Peek) and has a wicked sense of humour at times, good at hosting That's how I see things anyway, everyone's got their strengths and weaknesses but they make a really good team and I'm generally pleasantly surprised by the content they put out. -

Then "tsk tsk" no more for it has now been fixed. (hopefully) Fire Emblem is one of those titles which was just tricky to get the right size images for the banners, I should have double-cheked it though. I really need to get a proper capturing setup sorted so that I can get some better images for things like this, this will hopefully be happening soon. -

On the front page... -
The forum seems to be OK now but the main site has been producing a few errors and has been refusing to load, it's up now but just barely... That message has come up a few times, and the "This Month's Most Viewed" section isn't showing anything but the header currently on the main page but they show up on articles... ...conversely, the side box images are showing up on the main page but not when viewing any article. And now they've vanished from the main page as well. (all I can say is that I didn't touch or break anything as I haven't uploaded anything today for a change) Edit - all seems to be fine now.

My Life in Gaming video about Cartridge Save File Preservation. I'm sure it will be interesting, I'll be watching it myself as soon as I've finished watching Boundary Break.

Here is the final article for our Top Ten Game Boy Advance Games. Thanks to @RedShell for the visually stunning banner/side graphics. and @Glen-i plus @Dcubed once again for organising this, I always enjoy reading the write-ups plus I usually learn something as well. Also thanks to the N-E community for contributing, the GBA is one of those systems which was released at such a turning point that it's fascinating to read peoples thoughts on. (my contribution was making the game banners in the article and getting it uploaded) I did incorporate an actual GBA logo this time, I think it turned out reasonably well so I'll try and do the same for the GameCube and beyond. Enjoy! And here's to the next one. -
Some masterful editing on that highlights video @RedShell I really liked the varied music and effects, especially the ones at the end. I'm glad that you managed to capture my bomb-jumping on the Monado stage, I managed to avoid falling into the abyss for quite a while there. It's a shame the same cannot be said for manic-hammering Jigglypuff.

No carpet awards this year (the award was stolen) but... damn, Ian and Don have outdone themselves for E3 2019. I loved the video and I though Ian did really well to keep going through all of E3, plus Don just has some of the best B-Roll and commentary. -
You've got to admire the amount of extras available from using the GBA Link cable. I remember downloading and playing all of those Sega mini games when they were first available in PSO Episode I&II back in the day. I'm not sure if I ever unlocked them in Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg though I do remember the cracking multiplayer on that game, hours of fun.

First Press Games have their first bundle of physical Switch games available now for anyone interested. Yes I know, between Limited Run Games, Super Rare Games and Strictly Limited Games there's quite a few titles. But if you want physical copies of games, in some cases these will be the only print runs, so I just thought I'd let people know these are available now... ...limited to one set per customer, it works out at about £30 per game there will be another batch or two after this, at different times. Once the 500 copies sells out though, I think that's it, I've gone for it anyway and I'll let everyone know if they're any good when they arrive. They don't ship until October buying them this way though as it goes by the release date of the last game, like other similar online retailers. Is anyone interested in a feature about games for the Switch in physical form or about certain games being made in limited quantities? I was thinking of writing such a feature if there is any interest.
