Another informative video from Sega Lord X every time this guy puts out a video I think... surely there isn't much of Sega he hasn't covered? Then I watch the video and I always end up learning about something I didn't even know existed, some of those early Sega arcade games are amazing.

Annnd we're back to Activision Blizzard again... I really don't like the fact that I have bought at least three of their games on the Switch (Diablo III, Crash N-Sane Trilogy and Crash team Racing) but I can't see myself buying many more. They own one of the biggest selling franchises in videogames though, so I guess myself not buying their games isn't really going to do much, but it's something.

It's alright, I'm a Kickstarter backer as well, I was more just posting the video out of habit, I don't really agree with everything said in it. A lot of money has gone into Shenmue III and I think that the majority of it has gone right back into the project, going for the whole Epic Game Store one year exclusivity deal was a big mistake though I feel, they really shouldn't have done that because whichever way people get their refunds (if at all) it's still the case that they won;t be able to play the game on Steam for a whole year... that's unacceptable, especially in the case of Shenmue III because at the time of people backing it, the Epic Store didn't even exist. But it's done now... they can't/won't change it, so that's that I suppose... I'm glad that Epic are offering the refunds, but they are definitely doing it to save some of their own skin mostly and if they get to look like the good guys for doing so then that's good for them, but really this doesn't help to outweigh all that they've done so far. Jim Sterling definitely does some good work, there are other videos where I'll just watch them and think "OK then..." but generally he's done some good things in his videos which mroe than outweigh the bad I feel, yeah... he does like to piss off certain fanbases but not as much as he likes to take on the "Triple Ayyyyyyyy" games industry.

I haven't got a clue when it comes to this stuff and I wouldn't have access but I reckon @Shorty would be able to help. - - - - - I mean, I know what two factor authentication is but as I understand it, on your phone, there's an app which gives you access to all of your two-step authenticated accounts but only through this one app; so losing access to the app means that you're now having to disable the two-step authentication as a security measure? This is just my attempt to further understand the problem and inform myself a bit (as I don't know that much about modern phone tech) so that I can maybe be of more use in the future but I'm sorry that I couldn't be of much assistance in the meantime but hopefully someone with access can get this sorted out for you.

You might have just made the decision easier for me. I'm commited to buying Link's Awakening, Dragon Quest XI is something I want to experience for the first time on the Switch and I can't not get Monster Hunter: Iceborne. Gears 5 I can take or leave because I didn't finish Gears 4... I know I should have probably got in on the Game Pass £1 deal but I like physical games so I don't think I will. Ni No Kuni... I got around fifty hours into on the PS3 version, I've since sold all the contents of my Wizard's Edition to someone who really wanted it a while back... ...all the contents except the game, which I still have plus all the familiars dlc except... my original save file is on my original PS3 which is stored away. So i feel tied to the PS3 version really, if I even go back to it any time soon, I did enjoy it at the time, so we'll see. But back to Daemon X Machina... it looks really cool but both time and funds are limited and this is me making a decision on a real game with all the content*. We're pretty much spoiled for choice as gamers these days. *as opposed to all these other free to play/feetoplay/AAAccess games etc, I don't see how anyone has time to play those let alone games which offer real value for money. Actually, I think after writing that, I will support it but only if I can and it might not be at launch.

Nope, do not need, do not want. It's a nice special edition but I'd have instant buyer's remorse knowing how much space it would take up. Just the standard game for me, if it all, or if even at launch... we'll see. I will probably get it as it looks cool, though I haven't even tried the demo yet and it's outdated now anyway as they've improved it since then.

I thought that was probably the case... well, I'll keep a look out for a genuine copy but I'm not hopeful at getting one for a good price so the repro will do. I've always loved that boxed copy of Dragon Warrior III though, it's got the map and instruction booklet as well. I have hardly any boxed Dragon Warrior games but I'm glad this is one of them. So erm, which is the best version of Dragon Warrior III that you've played? I've heard the GBC version isn't perfect but it looks pretty decent to me. I thought I'd ask you seeing as you know a lot more about the series than me, I've just maintained a healthy interest in the series while meaning to play more of them one day.

If Square-Enix were just to release a collection featuring the roms of Dragon Quest I, II & III in both their original and portable forms, that would be fine. Then they could also port across the Zenithia trilogy (IV, V &VI) followed by the 3DS ports (or playstation ports) of VII and VIII then port across DQIX from the DS... ...by that point we might as well have DQX as well seeing as we didn't get the online game out over here in the West. All of those will go nicely alongside Dragon Quest XI when it releases, plus we've now got Dragon Quest Builders 1&2 as well... ...what the heck, why not a spin-offs collection as well? We're not asking for much Square-Enix... just the ENTIRE DRAGON QUEST COLLECTION! (on Switch and other platforms) Ah well, we can dream. Back to the original trilogy... I've now got Dragon Quest I & II staring right at me, in all of its repro glory (I swear I didn't know when I bought it!) and well, it's tempting. I did test it out on my Super NT with Super GameBoy 2, it looked and sounded incredible and has some fantastic borders, I think some pictures are required... There's my "totally legit" copy of DWI&II playing through the Super Game Boy 2, via the Analogue Super NT. It's all about the borders, such great artwork, normally I'd prefer to play without borders but these definitely add to the experience. The border for the Overworld area. And one from inside the town, also Tantegel definitely sounds Cornish to me. There are the carts side by side, I'm glad at least one of them isn't a repro but I'm not complaining either way. Front of box for Dragon Warrior III with a bit of wear to it, looks nice in a box protector. (compatible with Game Boy Advance) Who knew? And the back of the box which has one heck of a write-up on it. Those were the days... when they really tried to sell you the game by telling you about it. So erm... I think I should get out my Analogue Super NT and start playing Dragon Warrior I & II... Then that'll hopefully spur me on to get the Game Boy Interface sorted to use with the GBA Player so that I can properly enjoy Dragon Warrior III. Let's hope those cart batteries hold out!

Damn, I was lucky to get my (presumably repro? but I din't know at the time) cart only copy of Dragon Warrior I&II for £6.92 in 2015. And my legitimate boxed copy of Dragon Warrior III for £20.50 in 2010... This must have been when I was seeking out portable Dragon Quest games years ago, now it looks like you can get a pair of repro carts of both for £20 but from China. I'm not even going to quote the prices of the legimate boxed copies, I had no idea that it had become so rare. When I bought them, sure they were getting harder to find but they weren't going for silly money, the few copies of DWIII on the GameBoy are all in the US on eBay. It must have been US only releases for both of them, if ever there was a time for Square-Enix to capitalise once again with a collection, now is surely the time?

Oh yeah, I wasn't advocating that anyone actually buy it on spec or anything, I mean damn... selling something for that amount, anything for that amount should be fully tested. But if it is really what the seller claims it is... you would think that they would want to verify it and definitely check that it works. I think it's likely to be real though, those discs do look official but... I'm aware that they could just as easily be blank Sega branded CDR's with a bit of pen on them. Upon checking feedback though, they have sold prototypes and other things in the past so who knows? If I was selling what they had though, I'd want to either show it running on original hardware (if that's possible) or at least the contents of the disc from within a file browser. I just found it really curious is all.

This interesting item came up in one of my automated eBay search e-mails... SEGA Saturn - Panzer Dragoon Azel (SAGA) discs 1&2 The listing reads... Panzer Dragoon Azel (Saga) on Official SEGA discs 1&2. Dated december '97. Bought from an ex-SEGA employee sale many moons ago. Untested. Open to offers. Free worldwide tracked shipping. It's just that, you know how the source code was lost to Panzer Dragoon Saga, it just made me wonder if these discs would have anything useful on them. Or if it's just a copy of the game which was burned to disc within Sega, which is still cool as it is and in any case it seems that it's only disc 1&2 but still. I just thought I'd post it here at least, it didn't come up in a usual Panzer Dragoon search but rather a search for "Sega Saturn 2 disc" in case anyone was interested.

I'd be up for there being a thread about the original trilogy, I have the GameBoy versions of Dragon Warrior I & II and Dragon Warrior III which I've been meaning to play.

I didn't even know about G2A, I wasn't going to use them to buy games anyway but it's good to know that it's not worth buying keys for games from them. There are plenty of genuine places which sell keys for games for good prices, CDKeys are supposed to be reputable? At least that's from what I've heard. I suppose the cost for these cheaper games comes from somewhere and I have often wondered how these places can offer games for such cheap prices. At least buying games in a sale directly from digital store fronts such as on the Nintendo eShop, PSN or Xbox Live makes sure some money goes to the developers. Or at least I hope so...

Hmm... I might play those, it's only really Heavy Rain that I'm really interested in, I know Detroit: Become Human is acclaimed but between that and Beyond: Two Souls... I'm just not sure that they're my kind of games but I suppose for free... I could try them. Anyway, this is load better than just offering a soon to be/already obsolete Fifa game.

Well, the Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time Link have already sold out again, so it looks like scalpers is the only option for those now. They were in stock for a good week or so though, maybe that will drive down the price over time assuming Nintendo made loads of them? Link's Awakening amiibo has sold out though, unsurprisingly, that's all that I bought plus the collector's edition of the game of course.

That video pretty much hit home for me as well, for a number of different reasons but one of them is that I think I finally have to admit to my game purchasing addiction, especially when it comes to physical Switch games, I mean just look at what I just posted mere minutes ago in the Transistor thread upon learning about the Limited Run games release of it... I'm not trying to take away from anyone who has a problem with addiction when it comes to loot boxes etc either, but I will be making a thread about gaming addiction. I realise that I can't keep buying all of the Switch games (other games as well but Switch is my latest vice it would seem) just out of habit... yes I will play a lot of them but other titles, probably not and I really have to stop this while I can, but anyway, I'll continue to talk about this when I make the thread... Back to all of these "AAA" game companies who are exploiting vulnerabilities in people, there's basically no excuse for it at all and I will not support these companies at all. I've been selling a lot of games from my collection from any of these companies who have been known for implementing these mechanics and/or generally abusing their workers. There are still probably more that I could purge from my collection, but I think I've gotten rid of the worst offenders and as a general rule, they won't be getting money from me. It's a start at least... Now about that thread, should it be one in the General Gaming section titled "Addiction in gaming" or in General Chit Chat just titled "Addiction"? Let me know, then I'll make it.

Just the game for me then, as I really shouldn't be pre-ordering any more games as it is, but when it comes to limited release Switch games... I can't help it.* Time to sell more stuff but soon I'll have to address this physical Switch collection, as there might be some that I might not need afterall ultimately. Transistor is one of those games that I have really wanted to play though, so it makes sense to go for it. *maybe its taken me a while to realise this, as it feeds into part of gaming addiction which has just been covered in the Jimquisition thread but I may have a game purchasing addiction... I will make a thread about this later in the evening as I feel like I finally need to address it.
