  1. Yep, forget the COD talk - one of the most vastly overrated and dull franchises despite its success - back to Bayonetta which despite the main character being somewhat grating is still infinitely more interesting. Anyway the main character isn't really what I'm buying the game for, you have the fantastic gameplay, stunning art direction and just all-round general craziness that we've come to expect from Platinum games over the years; this sequel has been far too long in the making but I am glad things worked out this way as I honestly can't think of a better fitting console for it, welcome home Bayonetta! Oh and mine has finally shipped! : peace:
  2. Still not got the email/text... come on ShopTo don't 'let me down' again by only delivering it on the release date! See that's the trouble, ordering with them I've almost come to expect my games on a Thursday now... Ah well... soon! : peace:
  3. Happy Birthday! Jonnas! I hope you're having a fantastic day. : peace:
  4. Oh well, because the keychain is Nintendo store exclusive, that means I should get my ShopTo order on time or before release day.
  5. Well that's one Amiibo figure pre-order that I'll definitely be keeping, probably the Zelda one as well now that this has been announced.
  6. The sole redeeming feature of Paper Mario Sticker Star is that shiny holographic sticker effect that they managed to incorporate into the game on the touch screen that makes it react in the same way that it would in real life when you tilt the system. Aside from that it's very 'standard' at best for Paper Mario and it merely feels like a functional RPG rather than a spectacular piece of software where every step forward is a joyful experience as is the case with what is still the best entry in the series Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door which will remain the greatest game of its kind until the end of time. If they were to re-release that on the New 3DS it would shift many systems indeed, though I'd be happier with an HD re-release on the Wii U but honestly I'd buy both if they were to happen just for an extra excuse to play through that gem of a game again. : peace:
  7. I figured that it was really bad that I hadn't posted in the cooking thread which I made ages ago but I really haven't cooked much that warranted posting in a while. Today though I decided to make Leftovers Omelette which had Rainbow Potatoes - silly name as it's just three varieties of Potato - with red onion and peas... Eeet was good! : peace:
  8. So much for all the content being on a single disc. Couldn't they have just put a multiplayer install disc in the box as well? Its been done before on the Xbox 360... perhaps that would up the price by another £5 though taking the RRP beyond £50 so maybe not. #NextGen!
  9. Last nights episode was really good, it had a brilliant atmosphere to it from the start and the effects used throughout were fantastic, decent dialogue helped too of course, really enjoyed it.
  10. I must say for all of its faults at least the save system on the Wii was simple, save on console or SD card, easily transferable between machines unless it was something like Monster Hunter, with no fuss. Mind you the Gamecube was even better, those memory cards, still got all my saves on them. :awesome:
  11. Happy Birthday!

    Drive Club

So are the servers at least now 'Up' reliably? I noticed that I now have a proper 'club' as the one person I invited to join - my friend Dave who I've known for years and who love driving games - is now in the Club but because the servers were down again it doesn't seem to count towards much so I just beat one more challenge - I've played it three times in the week its been out - and am now just waiting for the servers to be functioning more reliably. As for the game itself I still really like it by the way if anyone from here wants to join my club then they can, just ask... it's got a Final Fantasy theme as it's called 'Kupo Club' - because why not? - so if that sways anyone's decision to join then all the better, just thought I'd put it out there seeing as we already have one N-E club that's full which is good to see as it shows that lots of people on here have the game and are willing to play it online which is a good start... when we have the online.
  13. It depends on the game but if it's something like NES Golf or Tennis - games that don't really change much between VC's - then it'll be a copy, paste then rewrite the applicable sections; however if it's a monumental title then I have been known to write a new review from scratch or to do a significant rewrite. With the Donkey Kong Country trilogy being that its been a while since they were last reviewed plus the fact that we've had new entries in the franchise since, I would expect a significant rewrite at least plus some of my own in-game screen-shots plus a nice banner - seeing as I've been handling the graphics as well since just after VC Weekly #300 - and maybe even a celebratory closing piece of artwork following the reviews being that this is a momentous occasion. : peace:
  14. The entire physical release is exclusive or just that awesome cap? Either way, I'm interested.
  15. Pretty decent, think of them as 'more of the same' from their console counterparts but with a monochrome palette - which is still incredibly detailed for even the GameBoy - and you'll have some idea of what to expect. So do I, really can't see myself having to review the same games - in some cases - a fourth or even a fifth time over when the new consoles arrive - or at least I hope not* - if they still have more new VC games to release by then on top of what we get on Wii U/3DS - which will hopefully be moved across and become the 'starting point' - then fair enough. *Please don't make me review Renegade again, I'll be good I promise!
  16. I love the fact that we're suddenly getting both Donkey Kong Country original trilogies - portable AND home console - from out of nowhere, plus they are evenly spaced out too. Nintendo, for the next few weeks at least you can do no wrong. Gives me an incentive to get properly caught up with VC Weekly as well, I've made some decent headway since things 'slipped' a little a month back but everything is getting back on track now hopefully. : peace: I still really enjoy writing Retro reviews each week, it just becomes a bit of a joke when you go to review 'that one awful NES game' for the third time over but at least we have had a few decent diamonds in the rough with Fire Emblem on the GBA sticking firmly in my mind. Hopefully it'll be mostly good stuff now so that Nintendo can keep 'dat momentum' going - though it's only just picked up again - from now until Christmas and beyond.
  17. My favourite part from last nights episode...
  18. This has at least alleviated have of my concern about the New 3DS, however how would you go about doing the system transfer from an old 3DS? Presumably just copy the SD card contents onto a PC normally, do the transfer and then the New 3DS could extract all of the files from the PC via wireless?
  19. For what it's worth, I would love to play the multiplayer on this at some point if we can get enough N-E players who want to play it one evening.

    Drive Club

I played this for a good few hours last night and I'm really very impressed by it. As it happens I opted to stick with motion control as it's just so good, it's at a better level than the Microsoft speed wheel which was a dedicated wireless wheel costing in excess of £40 at the time, whereas this is just using the tech in the PS4 pad to rather brilliant effect which is further enhanced if you're using the officially licensed Compact Racing Wheel shell, which I've just checked and it seems that ShopTo don't have it in stock any more but other retailers do - I ended up nabbing the last one in stock about a month or so ago as it happens - but for anyone interested I looked on the 4Gamers website and it seems there's a Drive Club branded one exactly the same but with the DC logo so there will surely be plenty around soon, but I can't recommend it enough, it's pretty decent for only £12 much cheaper than a proper wheel. : peace: http://4gamers.net/products-format/ps4/ All the challenges in this game are fantastic, I reached level 12 last night after only a few hours, plenty to see and do, also 'dem graphics!

    Drive Club

So it seems that this fantastic Online Orientated racer currently has no working online. It seems to be an issue for everyone at the moment but at least the developers are working hard to get it up and running. Just had my first couple of races on it, played with the control pad and motion controls using the officially licensed Compact Racing Wheel both of which seem to be decent control options, I'm reasonably impressed so far, glad I stuck with my pre-order. Now all we need is the online and this game should be a pretty all-round awesome driving experience, for now though I intend to play the heck out of the single player challenges. : peace:

Drive club get! No chance to play until later though but still, it's here! (kind of want to play Alien Isolation instead though) #toomanygamesnotenoughtime
  23. I hope the circle pad on the New 3DS is a bit more robust, otherwise it's going to be barely worth upgrading as between Super Smash Bros and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate it's barely going to survive a few months. Almost starting to wish that the GC controller adapter worked with the 3DS as well, and no I'm not going to make one of those adapters which involves wiring another circuit board onto my 3DS then sticking it with tape. Can we have a mini wireless GC controller just for the 3DS please Nintendo... or better yet a new Wii U game pad with a 3DS game card slot on it or even a 3DS micro console, or or... none of the above and I'll just keep on buying endless hardware revisions until the next machine comes along. Still though, it's only a matter of time before my Circle Pad breaks as well, I can feel it going off-centre at times already. :/
  24. I hope so! I've got a folder labelled 'GC' to fill, not to mention the ones for N64 and a rather lonely looking Brain Training game inside the DS folder.
