  1. Will play if it's ever free on Plus...
  2. You can but I hear that it's not advisable long term as it will likely wear out quicker so it could potentially fail, they seem to be more fro backing up data rather than constant use. Just thinking of your save files which I'm sure you wouldn't want to lose. : peace:
  3. What kind of USB hub are you using Dcubed? As in brand, model number etc if you don't mind me asking please... I'm looking to acquire one as I've come to realise that having the GC controller adapter hanging out of the front of the Wii U console is awful so I'd like to tidy it all up using a non-externally powered hub. --------------------- All I can say regarding the online is that due to some technical issues which have resulted in some players losing their entire saves after playing the 'For Glory' mode I have yet to actually test out the online for myself aside from connecting to the server just to get my Global Smash Power which seems to be worth doing even though I don't confess to actually understanding what it does exactly. Hopefully it won't be long until Nintendo addresses all online issues with a patch so that we can all take part in lots of fast-paced online battles without any undue concerns regarding save stability.
  4. Cheers for the heads-up Red, I only connected to the online to get my rating calculated so I haven't actually played online yet but I was considering it today so that I could post my opinion of the online but not at the potential risk of my save file. Time to wait for an inevitable update then...
  5. I haven't received this £5 back but then I ordered the game bundle + controller for £50.20 which they have taken payment for so I'm not too fussed just so long as they ship it. : peace: I take it that it's going to be just the game in a standard box plus a boxed controller as opposed to one with another big outer box? It'd be nice to have one copy of Smash in the house without that horrible oversized green '12' rating on it. #firstworldproblems
  6. They've taken payment for mine just two hours ago apparently so hopefully it'll be shipping first thing tomorrow, I pre-ordered it ages ago when it was priced at £50... so that's a brand new GC pad for a tenner, pleased with that. : peace:
  7. Well after vowing only to buy a handful of Amiibo consisting of three for my collection and a couple for Christmas presents I've now gone and ordered the full set after one of the ones from ShopTo didn't arrive - ended up being the double Link instead - so I went on a mission and then got caught up in the madness of discount codes... so erm yeah. At least one or two of them ended up being free though, anyone looking for a saving on Amiibo go on to Tesco, spend at least £30 then use this code for £5 for today only... TDX-FXRT Makes them a bit cheaper at least. : peace: I haven't actually unsealed any of mine yet, was going to wait until I have at least five of them in my possession though I was wondering, how did some of you open the packaging? Did you do it carefully using the 'box cutter' method or just savagely rip them open?
  8. A fair video review though I wish they'd check their facts... 'Virtual eShop' it's all virtual, if they'd said 'Virtual Console' then I'd know what they were talking about also what's 'Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze' I wonder, I can't help but think there's something missing from the title, it's probably just me though I am from the country I suppose. [/Pedantic] But it is at least good to see the Wii U being praised a bit more on its merits at least. : peace:
  9. I'm using Firefox though I'm guessing this must be issue for all browsers. It's just one of those noticeable things as I'd always tend to go for 'N-Europe Full-Width' to eliminate the dead space on either side.
  10. Happy Birthday! drahkon I hope you have an awesome day filled with Geometry Wars, Cake and awesomeness. : peace:
  11. The box in the bottom-left corner on the main page of the forum that allows you to change the theme seems to have disappeared. Not really a huge issue but it is noticeable so I thought it would be worth a mention. : peace:
  12. All of the Amiibo figures I have received have had decent paintwork so far and very minimal wear to the packaging too, both Link figures are fine.
  13. Well most of my Amiibo arrived today, sure enough each one arrived in a huge post packet making it seem much worse than it is seriously they could have fitted at least two in one but anyway free post packets. It seems that they arrived in good condition but I ordered five different ones, four have arrived today and one of them is another Link for some reason... So now I wait to see if the other two figures that I ordered arrive or if it's just the one and in fact ShopTo have sent me a double instead of one that I ordered, I don't mind if it's an 'extra' one as I've spent a lot on there this month - well this yea really! - but I seriously doubt it plus in any case all Amiibo are on back order now so they wouldn't be able to rectify the situation, so anyway we shall see. : peace:
  14. I just had enough time to download the update, watch the intro, setup the GC adapter and play three 2 minute matches. Glorious! It's going to feel like the longest ever shift at work today. :/
  15. My copy with the GC controller adapter arrived from ShopTo! Smash plus GC controller bundle still in transit but I'm just happy to have the main copy of the game. NO sign of any Amiibo's but I'm honestly not expecting them until Monday so it's fine. : peace:
  16. ShopTo shipped! So it begins...
  17. Those are nice. Not sure if they are '4000 stars' nice... but still.
  18. Payment was taken for my copy that comes with the adapter but not for the game plus GC controller bundle which I managed to pre-order ages ago for £50 meaning that hopefully they will honour it meaning that I saved something on the controller at least, the other copy is for my brother so I hope that it gets shipped. The only ticket notice I had on the item was ShopTo letting me know that I would need a GC controller adapter in order to the controller to work with the Wii U... I know this ShopTo, which is why my other order is for a copy of the game with the adapter saving me money... they then go on to say that you can purchase the adapter separately for 'insert ludicrous amounts of pounds here' which I'm obviously not going to do. They are probably just making those of us who pre-ordered their unofficial bundle early at such a fantastic 'placeholder' price - at the time - wait until last. *sings to the tune of Conga* 'Come on ShopTo, ship it! Come on ShopTo, ship it! Come on ShopTo, ship it!'
  19. Ruby and Sapphire, ready and shipped!
  20. I've just had the best part of two weeks off so I managed to at least clear some of my backlog in preparation so while I won't have any time off for Smash I do at least feel a little more battle ready for it. Also all going well I should have the game on Thursday so I'll be playing it straight after work.
  21. Speaking of deals, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to purchase Steel Dragon EX plus Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga 1&2 for £6 all in, I didn't think that was too bad for three digital PS2 games. If I were to buy them physically then it would have cost me about £25 for all three of those, so in those instances I don't mind buying digitally if it's a good saving. : peace: (This was on the PS3 store I hasten to add, the deals seem to be on until early December)
  22. Seriously? I thought it was just everyone gets the background etc and that was it, that's all I got anyway... did they actually give out free game downloads to some people? Surely it would have been better to have at least given out one arcade game for free to everyone... Not that it matters that much I suppose but still, would have been nice.
  23. It's a fair assumption really, the real price is closer to £130 but the only bundle they had stock of is the one with the extra controller which brings it up to £160 but then you get to use a discount code which brings it down to about £150 again. I do have a few games in my collection from when I used to buy them years ago in the days when Yahoo Auctions existed and eBay was still in its early days so I managed to get a partially sealed copy of Chrono Trigger for some daft price of around £30 I think it was... still quite an outlay at the time buy now I wouldn't be able to get it for anywhere near that price; same goes for A Link to the Past which I'm sure I only paid £25 for a full boxed copy, these days though you can only just about get the cartridge for that price... It will just be nice to be able to hopefully just put the cartridge in and for it to hopefully work reliably without the need for any adapters which can be a bit temperamental even if you have one of the ones that actually work with the game you wish to play, I can recall going through three different adapters just to get Chrono Trigger to fully work back in the day, it was definitely worth it though, I can't wait to see if my original save file is still present. : peace:
  24. Kind of how I feel about the Majora's Mask even though I know full well that it's awesome, I thought for a good while on that and would have purchased it but I would have needed somewhere safe to wall-hang it, maybe one day though. : peace: Also I completely get that it is quite an outlay but factor in the costs of buying each console to buy them separately online, even conservatively it'll probably be something like this... Megadrive £25 SNES £25 NES £20 GBA £15 Universal adapter (SNES) £20 That's already £115 without the cost of extra controllers etc, it's all in one unit too so space saving plus you can back up your cartridge saves from it and/or opt to use save states. I know you can kind of do the same on a PC so I suppose it is kind of expensive still... :/ But I intend to get a lot of use out of it providing it all works correctly, it'll be awesome to be able to play my original copy of Chrono Trigger again which I haven't been able to easily play for years.
  25. One of these... General pre-orders start tomorrow at 9am over at... http://www.funstock.co.uk/retron-5-2-controller-bundle-black Just in case anyone else is interested, I only managed to pre-order today as I signed up to their advanced notification, they all sold out really quickly too but as I said the general stock goes live 9am tomorrow. : peace: I'm sure @Hero\-of\-Time perhaps?
