You get that anyway for buying the Nostromo Edition, the only extra dlc in Ripley Edition is a mission where you get to take out the Alien as Ripley, something that should be in Crew Expendable anyway but GAME being needlessly irritating have to have an exclusive edition with one mission that costs £7 more than the other version it seems! I'll wait thanks as it's the principle, I so miss the days when a full game used to ship on a disc I'm all for extra dlc but not this planned 'oh this will/won't/maybe be dlc' stuff that's put up specifically to divide the market. Anyway, in summary; the game is really good you should buy it, GAME are bad and I wouldn't give them any more money at all then is absolutely necessary if any at all. All major supermarkets will have the game, usually a fiver cheaper too.

One extra piece of dlc in the Ripley Edition, probably not worth it if the price difference is more than £5 because we all know they'll be selling or giving away that GAME exclusive (or whatever) dlc later on down the line.

Yeah £18 for it solo is too much but surely anyone who wants the adaptor will be buying it with the game in the bundle? Bundle price it works out at £7 for the adapter, which should mean that it should be sold for no more than £9.99 separately really... maximum. They missed a trick at not selling a gamecube controller with the adaptor for £25 being that the controller is £22 on it's own it would have seemed like a reasonable deal, or they could have just made a bundle which includes the game, an adaptor and a controller for £59.99 which would mean that you'd get the adaptor free for buying it all together but apparently that's not how they're going to sell it. Hmm that's a point, I wonder if they are going to honour my pre-order of Super Smash Bros for Wii U plus the Gamecube controller for £50 which I still have? I guess I should pre-order the one with the adapter as well just in case.

That's Eurogamer though... Other places have scored it reasonably, Destructoid gave it 7.5 I think and I'd take more stock in their reviews, so basically in my mind it's probably an 8/10 game at best but I reckon dlc will improve it over time and I'm happy with what I've seen from it so far in videos plus the GIF's - those GIF's!!! - so I'm sure it's going to be a worthy investment. : peace: Anyway at least this wasn't rushed out for launch! I will be being a bit more cautious about future PS4 purchases from now on but damn this still looks to be a lot of fun.

Official Nintendo Magazine to close this month with issue 114
S.C.G replied to Josh64's topic in General Gaming Discussion
As with all issues of Official Nintendo Magazine, I might buy it if it has an exceptionally good 'free' gift. The magazine used to be so much better back in the day, 'tis a shame. -
What an amazing first play session! I played for around two hours last night and while I didn't see the Alien - perhaps I was just lucky or it's just tension building? - the atmosphere was still dripping with fear. Such a technical achievement for the game to be running as it is with those sumptuous visuals, yes initially the cut-scenes seem to go at an odd frame-rate but I think it's more of a stylistic choice or perhaps it's struggling a bit? Either way it doesn't hurt the game one bit as the rest of the time everything is consistently excellent, I was just taking in every detail that I could, visiting every room in order to Scavenge whatever I could - especially as I'm playing on Hard - all the while crouching all the way so as not to make a sound. Though perhaps I was just doubly paranoid being that I opted to turn on the Playstation Camera features, the first of which allows you to actually 'Peek' your head around corners by using head tracking though this is sometimes negated by the poor lighting conditions caused by the fact that you're obviously going to be playing it in the dark so... but it's nice when it works; however the more ingenious feature is the option of using the built-in microphone to detect any noise around you so that if you make a loud enough noise in real life then you might draw the attention of the Alien in the game, needless to say I was really quiet... apart from when a vent would explode suddenly and then I was all 'Oh shi...' *hands over mouth* then thinking to myself, what am I doing? Utterly terrifying is right and I can't wait to come back for more. : peace:

I've never wanted someone to be right about something as much as this in the history of this forum!

That's instantly what came into my mind too... ...but should we dare to even hope at this point?

I remember... Nintendo still owe me for a copy of Kirby and the Amazing Mirror which never made it to me, not even sure if they even sent it. At the time their address ordering system was terrible, I complained and everything but nothing was ever done from what I recall. The site is improved now but still, just thinking it would have been nice to have that extra sealed gba game right about now for my collection.
-
Good on you H-o-T! : peace: My copy is still sitting sealed on the shelf but I do intend to play it at some point soon, when I do I'll complete that half-finished Evil run that I was in the middle of, I don't know if I'll bother with the Paper Trail stuff any more though unless there's a good reward to persevering with it.

Brilliant episode, not what I expected it to be at all.
-
Well both mine and my brothers copies of Super Smash Bros arrived today! Had a few quick games on it, it's good but I'm just getting a feel for the controls at the moment.
-
ShopTo have started taking payment on pre-orders today, just a heads up. This had better be good! : peace:
-
Cheesy ad but it works. I can't wait for this! : peace:

:p

Ah in that case I completely understand, Game deserve all the abuse they get as penance for price-fixing alone and the rest of it! : peace: *sigh* Well at least I'll get to play this tomorrow I guess, hopefully.

Join the club, looks like they've chosen to screw Cornwall over again amongst other regions. Yes it sucks but I don't begrudge others the chance to play the game early - well not much anyway - and 'game locking' would certainly not be welcome. Nobody would genuinely want that, this is Nintendo we're talking about not Microsoft. I'm just going to find other things to do and I'll assume this is payback in my case for when I received the original Super Mario Galaxy in the post a whole two days early from Play.com... gosh those were the days! ---------------------------------------- Anyway how is the game for those that are playing it? I'd genuinely like to know but obviously no spoilers.
-
Thank you and yes I did. No it hasn't though it's possible that there might be a separate package delivery later as it was all letters... ...its happened before. Who am I kidding? It's going to be a Smash-less day for me. :/ Ah well, guess I'll just have to find other things to do until tomorrow, it's a shame though as I'm off work for a week so it would have been amazing to be playing it today. Come on ShopTo, I ordered two copies as well! One for me and one for my brother... ah well. To all those who get the game today, enjoy! : peace: [/Rant] I'm totally not bitter, at all... well maybe a bit. :p
-
'Oh the post has been and gone I'm left wondering what's going on More junk mail than we can manage But not a single package! Something must have gone so wrong The rest of the post will soon come along I can't understand it, I'm really irate It's never like ShopTo to ever be 'late' But oh the post has been and gone So I am left reciting this song And wondering just what it is I've done wrong' If anyone needs me I'll be by the letterbox.

I just wanted to say... Happy Birthday! To our one and only Mokong! Enjoy a slice of Rathalos cake... ...but don't forget to carve it well in case of hidden gems. I hope you're having a great day! : peace:

So a Network Link has appeared on my map in Adventure Mode for the first time, it's lvl 71... My Link is only lvl 37 I think, so if I got to the square with that high level network Link on now am I going to get 'owned' do you think? Is that even the way it works?
-
A physical copy from ShopTo is only £31.85 for the sake of comparison, also I bet they get it to you quicker than Game will with that download code. However if you are wanting to go purely digital on all your games then I can understand if it is cheaper than the eShop directly at least. I should have mine and my brother's copy of the game by tomorrow morning with any luck. : peace:

'Snorlaaaax!' 'Laaaaaaxxxxxxxxx!' I sure hope so, Snorlax was always one of the best Pokeball Pokemon Powerups.

That would be in the Mario folder, I felt like at least some of the main Nintendo and third party series deserve their own folders but for everything else it's strictly by console. Yes I am definitely hopeful that I will have at least five games minimum in each of the N64 and GC folders by this time next year make it happen Nintendo! I was thinking that too, especially as the 3DS will be getting paid themes etc so surely the Wii U will get this too? Perhaps when you buy a theme on your 3DS that's on the same NNID then you get to use that same theme on the Wii U or something similar? : peace: Could even have exclusive themes for registering certain games via club Nintendo.

Behold! My newly organised home screen with folders for everything... ...plus a couple of folders which will remain 'wishful thinking' for now. But crucially there are no empty spaces. : peace:
