Well this is unexpected, Forza Horizon 4 before it's even officially out and much earlier than anticipated. Perhaps it would be wise for Turn 10 to just go straight to Forza Horizon 5. Seriously though, this is real uncanny valley territory... the game looks almost exactly like the series it's clearly trying to emulate... ...except it's being made by ex-Criterion staff so I expect the physics to be even better than those found in any Turn 10 title. (oh burn!) But credit where it is due on both sides, I love the Horizon series and I love some of the new Burnout/Need For Speed games so I'm liking the look of this one.

I can confirm that the artwork on the aforementioned post did not previously exist, therefore it has indeed been made specifically for the SNES boxart mock-up... ...and what a mock-up it is! (posting from another source other than Twitter so that it will embed properly and everyone can enjoy it in this thread) If Skyrim were to actually get a SNES style 16-bit Demake then I'd probably buy it... ...or take an arrow to the knee trying.

I'm nothing if not predictable in my patterns at times. Incidentally, I can't see who liked my posts but I do know or at least have an idea of who might like them.
-
Well that's a bit more like it, still though... wishing you all the best.

I'm sorry to hear that Cube I hope you manage to get the pay that you're owed and that you can find something else soon.
-
Well, when you put it like that... Nope! I'll keep the 10 thanks.

Keep it, it seems I did OK in at least one of the GP's so I'm sure it'll even out.

The 100 Hardest Video-Game Bosses, Ranked
S.C.G replied to Happenstance's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I've also beaten 45 out of the 100. In the Top 20... I didn't bother counting... mostly because I don't care for all of the inclusions in the list. But yes, most of them are genuinely hard boss battles but I feel like there are loads they missed. -
This... that's why I was talking more generally about the prospect of Pinball games on the Switch. If I could choose then I would love The Pinball Arcade on Switch even though I've got both seasons on the PS4... if there was a combined physical release complete with additional extras such as some Nintendo themed tables and Portrait/Cabinet mode from day one then I would be so in for this.

I'm loving the game, I just wish that I was able to put more time into it. I played it for maybe an hour or so last night, after not playing it for a few days and it's just a really solid, well-honed, improved version of a classic Metroid game. Yes, it's easy to get stuck at times, even I got stuck at that same aforementioned part but the key is learning to read the map, as while it can be confusing sometimes this isn't a feature which was available in the original Metroid II so it makes sense to take advantage of it here. Granted, it can take a bit of muscle memory to remember which apparently "obtainable" upgrades on your map are stick blocked off by a certain door or debris but then you can use the map annotations as well if you like... I haven't yet but it's nice to know the option is there. Indeed it seems that every possible modern-day convenience has been incorporated into this title, which should make it all the more playable, though that still doesn't make it easier... I would even go as far to say that it can seem harder in some respects but it just takes getting used to is all.

Pinball on Switch? If portrait mode is confirmed then I'm in. I've always thought that Pinball games would be better represented on a vertical monitor, now I'm in the position to try such things out, it would be nice if there was an option. Searching around though, it seems like a more common feature on the PC versions and only then if the developer bothers, which is a shame because according to a lot of them, it's an easy thing to add support for... I know it's still probably considered a niche thing but it really adds to certain game genres; namely shmups and presumably Pinball. And at the very least if it was supported on Switch then at least every owner would be able to experience it in portrait mode at the very least while playing in table top orientation with something to prop the screen up, like that wonderful and inexpensive Hori stand.

Games for sale: Wii, DS, GC, DC, 360, PS1, PS2 - UPDATED
S.C.G replied to MoogleViper's topic in Nintendo Gaming
No problem at all. If it was me selling, I'd be the same, especially if they're in really good condition, as if they are then you could command quite a decent price for them. What I'm basically saying though is that if you are selling them and if they are in amazingly good condition then I'll buy them off you for whatever you want for them, within reason. But if they aren't for sale, then that's fine as well and I understand completely. If you want any tips on Dreamcast games or just valuations on them, let me know as I spent the best part of a year building up a reasonable collection. -
Do you have any titles in mind and what kind of price you'd want to pay for them? If you do then I could always keep an eye out for them. Are you mostly just after cart only?
-
Yeah, I've been noticing a lot of stuff that CEX sell in their Retro section. There's a new CEX store which opened close by to me and I've been getting into the habit of taking in all the old PS2 games and the like that I don't want, after comparing prices with eBay of course, for the ones which aren't too much price difference I just exchange about two bags full for store credit in the hope that I can find something decent in their retro section, so long as it's labelled as "Mint" because while there is quite a price different between just boxed and Mint, apparently if anything arrives and you don't like the look of it, you can just take it back to any CEX store for a full refund. As for SNES carts, I have definitely seen two in my local CEX shop window, one was Mega Man X... which sadly was worse for wear as it had a different cartridge back on it, the label was faded and there was corrosion on the screws... so yeah, no deal on that one but they also had an unboxed copy of Super Metroid... I don't need it but if anyone else does then let me know and I'll pick it up on Monday when I next go in there, if it's still there and in good condition of course. But yeah, it's probably not a bad way to get some retro stuff, I've got an eye on the Game & Watch titles as well, they don't come in often, at all or boxed, though sometimes they do and if this happens and I've got enough credit then I might just go for one as a collectable plus it would be an investment as well.

Wow, that's quite an updated list! In that case, I'm potentially interested in Shenmue & Shenmue II please, depending on condition of course and how much you'd like for them. -
I'm sorry to hear about that poor cat @Serebii I hate it when people run over animals due to ignorant or reckless driving.
