If you're going to buy it at all, go for a physical copy, without a doubt. Pokemon games are easy to sell on again... generally speaking. This definitely isn't a title I'd want to be stuck with digitally if it turned out to be not as great as I once thought it might be. I mean, you might end up loving it, but then if that's the case then... you haven't lost anything, unless you're trying to go completely digital, even then you could sell the game, keep the save file (I think) and then rebuy it digitally... I mean I haven't tried that, I'm just guessing but I'm going for mostly physical games so it's not something I've thought about too much. Although I did notice that once I got Sonic Mania Plus (physical) I still had all the save files from my digital copy of Sonic Mania and it all just worked but that's different again. Anyway, I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who buys these games, as I'm still interested, just not enough to invest as I've been put off by the "Go!" influences.

I really don't know why I've even got this game pre-ordered really, it's not the Pokemon game I really want and I'm sure it'll sell just fine anyway. *cancels pre-order* Plus, other games to play... Smash is out in mere weeks and it would be good to just save a bit of cash.

Limited Run Games or Super Rare Games better pick this up for a physical release, otherwise... it's just money left on the table. I was holding out for the physical release as well.

PlayStation Classic Announced (3rd Dec 2018)

I'll cancel my pre-order if you cancel yours... At the same time... ready? 3, 2, 1... go! ... What do you mean you didn't cancel? Oh well, that's £90 saved anyway. Edit - I just cancelled my pre-order on ShopTo, plus my pre-order for Days Gone (don't want it) and the three amiibos (that could be the name for a parody film) which I have since pre-ordered on the Nintendo Store UK and for around six pounds less each. -
I did purchase one of those Power A Switch controllers, one of the Pro Controller Lite type pads as I wanted a wired option, it holds up surprisingly well... ...then I found out that you could just opt to use your Pro Controller in wired mode anyway instead of charging it and I stopped using it. I also picked up the Hori pad with that... false D-pad that you can opt to take off to reveal four buttons underneath... it's fine but not quite as good. For when Super Smash Bros comes out, I'm just going to use wired GameCube controllers I expect, unless I want to take loads of screenshots or captures. These new Power A GameCube styled (almost) Pro Controllers will probably be of decent quality if you're looking for a cheaper Pro/GameCube Controller combination. Also good if you want a wireless option to potentially use with other devices... if it has Bluetooth then it'll probably work with most things with a dongle I guess. It's not rechargable by the looks of it though? It runs off AA batteries... so I suppose in a way it is like an updated Wavebird... except that uses RF instead of Bluetooth... ...plus I would wager that the Wavebird batteries would last much longer. Anyway, it would seem to be an option in any case.

OK, I'll be on around 9PM, I first thought 8:30PM but 9 is more realistic.

The moment I saw the video, I had to watch it, especially as I've been planning to play/replay many Castlevania games recently. It looks like it will still be the Wii VC version of Rondo of Blood for me and the original Playstation disc for Symphony of the Night... ...once I get those RGB cables installed that is.

I could join you for a bit from around 8:30PM or so if that's any good to you? I've just realised that I haven't really played Monster Hunter for just over two weeks! Wasn't there an update for the game recently as well? I'm guessing... more dlc quests etc I hope.

Amazing stuff, I'm now interested to play Haven: Call of the King on the PS2 at some point. I think I've got an Australian copy somewhere which I almost traded in, before I knew about the games history.

While I simply cannot abide by the notion that nobody likes Super Metroid, simply because it is a fantastic game which deserves praise despite other excellent entries in the series... ...I won't force others to play it by casting it as my vote because I just know I'll be playing it again myself someday so that would be a fruitless exercise. But when it comes to Donkey Kong Country 2 I really can't say that I'm that enthused at the thought of playing it, as I really do prefer the third entry... ...though I do still appreciate the original for the landmark title which it was back in the day and still is in many ways. So that just leaves Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island which I'll go ahead and admit that it is the title I've probably spent the least amount of time on, despite covering it in the past... ...I think it just has a lot to do with Baby Mario's constant crying, it just sets you on edge, much like a baby crying does in reality and Nintendo seemed to really nail that sound effect. But I suppose it's time for me to just try and get over it and play the game properly and not on the GBA version or any of the Virtual Console versions... ...only the original cartridge will cut it this time, so I will make the effort for this one (the previous Game Club games I feel like I'd played to death already) and get the cart out. I have taken to going back to playing SNES games more than anything else recently anyway as I'm playing them on my newly acquired Analogue Super NT... ...which also means that those virtual Baby Mario crying noises are probably going to be even more harrowing. Just what am I letting myself in for? Oh well... here we go, my vote goes to Game #3! (you're all welcome)

For what it's worth, I have a feeling that this game will be THE game to get people back into Super Smash Bros. if they have fallen out of love with the series over the years. I played Smash less with the Wii U version then any other version... probably, but I'm all in for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Nice, I may well just play this in Handheld mode exclusively then until an inevitable update which might allow Pro Controllers while docked further down the line. I dislike having to use the Joy-Cons on their own as it is, I'll put up with it for the odd game of Super Mario Party but that's about it. Obviously I understand the advantages to using just Joy-Cons for certain games but recently a lot of wireless technology has fallen out of favor in our household. So that includes Bluetooth and a lot of RF devices and especially Wi-Fi... the upside is that going back to ethernet will be a lot more stable so that's good. Anyway, that's probably a subject for another thread in the future. For now, I may well play Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! here and there to see how I get on with it but it's always nice to have options.

Ha! I just finished watching the direct as well, not more than five minutes ago. December can't arrive quick enough.

Well, I can say that while my Switch is fine, sometimes when putting it into the dock it won't go to the TV when put into the dock even when it's powered up etc. Usually it's to do with the HDMI lead coming loose or something, where my dock is at the moment is "fine" but less than ideal as I have a load of stuff around it on the desk. I'm going to be improving that soon though as part of a general overhaul of my setup. In any case, it is worth taking all of the leads out of the dock and starting again, this usually solves the problem for me anyway. All the best though @Aneres11 as I can't say for certain whether it'll be the same case for your Switch being that it has been dropped but you never know. Being that you've already tried different cables etc though, it doesn't sound hopeful. Whereabouts on the Switch was the main impact when it hit the floor initially? Was it anywhere near the USB C docking port underneath?

Gaming Podcasts: A Thread about Listening to Others
S.C.G replied to Goron_3's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I enjoy Easy Allies for the entire breadth of content that they provide but I hear you on the podcast, it's at the stage now where if they are talking about a game I'm not interested in at all such as Call of Duty etc... then I'll just skip that part of the Podcast, Frame Trap, or Friend Code. Indeed, last night I was listening to Friend Code but sped up to 1.5 times normal speed because I felt that I know their speech patterns now plus I was short on time anyway. Loving the start of the first Season of Box Peek though. -
An excellent video, just in time for Halloween.
