Thank you for the help with the Astalos Butchery last night. The quota was definitely met and my Astalos X armour set is complete which I'm very happy with. Cheers for the tips on which gems to slot @Glen-i as you were most definitely right, that combination of sharpen + blade sheath works a treat! I hardly have to sharpen my blades and even when I do, it takes a mere second now as opposed to four. Which will in turn make it even quicker to kill Astalos in the future, it's a win-win for everyone... ...except for Astalos of course.

I saw that you were otherwise engaged with your new game on Steam so I left you to it. I'm glad to hear that you made some good progress though offline after that headstart the other night. I look forward to seeing your new armour set and weapon when we next hunt. - - - - - Also... @Mokong good to see you back, if you ever want to join anyone in an online game from N-E, chances are the password will be 4444 for most of the rooms. I did see you online the other day in the daytime but you were already in a full party, it would be nice to hunt with you again though.

That's what I was thinking. Or more like, hoping, wishing... It would be nice though, but then again that's something I'd want to own rather than it being locked behind an online paywall... ...although that's what the game was originally I suppose, so it would be true to its roots.

Yes, thank you @Ugh first aid @Glen-i and @RedShell for the pre-direct hunts! I just finished watching the Direct but wanted to say thanks for helping me get some G-Rank Astalos parts for my future armour set. Our efforts this evening have done the Astalos Butchery Corporation proud, we shall surely be rewarded for our continued patronage. Oh and... the place is a lot safer of course without so many Astalos lurching out of the sky and preying upon random hunters and wildlife, so there's that too.

Well, for me it's simple... Do I want to carry on playing Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate online? The answer is obviously "Yes" so... I'm buying it regardless. The there's Mario Kart 8 DX every week... (not too fussed about Splatoon 2 or Arms and I don't play Fortnite or anything "Free to Play" generally) Plus there were retro games mentioned so... I'm interested, though I do prefer to own them, but I already own most NES and SNES games digitially several times over. But I do want voice chat, on the system if possible as there isn't any way I would be using that awful app... I might as well just use Steam or something. So in summary, I'm buying it but I will be interested to hear what other details are involved in enticing people to buy into it. A free three month code with certain First-Party and Third-Party titles in the box wouldn't hurt or even digitially as well to get the ball rolling. I know there is a 7-day trial anyway but... codes in boxes for online access always went down well in the Xbox 360 era, though there would probably be limitations. Anyway, at least we'll finally get to hear all about it tonight.

Thank you @RedShell for joining last night, both @Gadwin and myself were very appreciative as between us we managed to butcher a fair few monsters. It seems the Astalos Butchery Corporation is back in style as we took down yet another Astalos with relative ease, stocks surely soared after last nights hunt. After all the hunts last night, Gadwin went from HR5 to HR7, sorry I kind of flagged towards the end there, after I got DC'd I had to solo that Duramboros. (bad post DC habit of mine) Gadwin and I still carried on hunting until just gone 1am (even I was feeling tired by that point) and after two attempts we beat Shagaru Magala. In Gadwin's own words... "a hunt that felt earned" and it really was, complete with a fitting reward as he got... ... a S.Magala Phosgem on his first win against it! (I checked the odds and it's a 1% drop on that quest, wouldn't you know?) Really solid luck there, it continued as well as we hunted standard Gore Magala and I got a Gore Magala Nyctgem and we both got enough Plates for a dinner service. Overall... a pretty successful evening. I'll be online tonight, hunting from 9PM until 11PM when the Direct starts and let's face it, I'll probably keep playing and multitask it as best I can.

My PS4 seemed to get to that stage and then during the height of Summer when playing Monster Hunter World I thought that I heard a loud "beep" while playing. Which then prompted me to open it up and clean the console out, this is what I posted in the Spider-Man thread... Obviously the amount of dust inside each PS4 will vary, but it seems like a good idea to at least take the top of the casing off and dust the inside and the fan carefully. When I did it, I didn't spray compressed air in it or anything like that as I didn't want to chance it and it didn't seem too dusty. I did take some pictures when I perfomed the cleaning proceedure and I'm looking at doing the same with other consoles soon during my time off. If it's of interest to you and others then I was considering making a console cleaning and repair thread in the Retro section as that might benefit our community. For what it's worth, my PS4 does seem at least a bit quieter after the cleaning and I've made a new stand for it to improve the ventilation even further.

I managed to get around two hours of this played last night. I'm quite enjoying it so far, that initial mission really helps you to get into the swing of things. I decided to just start the game on the hardest dificulty, even though there don't seem to be any trophies linked to it, I just wanted a challenge. After you figure out the combat, it's really not that bad, I maybe failed a handful of times during the mission but it was never too frustrating. Whether or not this will still be the case later on in the game... I don't know but I have no regrets. All of the world-building and the feeling of flying through the air really gives the game a satisfying weight. But it does feel like a single playthrough game, plus the dlc which will definitely help to add longevity, now that I've played the game I'm more at ease with the idea... ...even though it could have been communicated in a better way. It's more content to what seems at first glance to be a very enjoyable Spider-Man game at least. I'm almost certain that it won't make me want to suddenly watch all the Spider-Man films I've missed or any recent super hero films but the game is very polished and enjoyable. That's all I really wanted from it.

I would have been, if I hadn't have been working... Same for tomorrow night, but after that I have a week off, so hopefully more Monster Hunting. I hope you still managed to get some decent hunts in.

Some excellent hunting sessions indeed, thanks to you all for helping me to get to HR 11 and of course I'll be helping you with your urgents as well. Espcially as we know what to do now, that Lao fight was intense and right down to the wire, about two and a half minutes left on the clock and less than 50% integrity wasn't it? But we still did it. - - - - - Red, I have to say that stealing cat is purretty clawsome I don't even know what those red monster drops are but they're cool. Healing is nice as well but I'd say just go with your furravourite but it was nice of you to paws for thought and ask us. TL:DR - all of your prowler skills are awesome, as is Steven Seagal cat.

I installed this late last night, it took nearly an hour to install the 44GB disc (offline) and there is a day one 4.1GB update just to let you know. Oh yeah, and I got the game yesterday in the post but didn't get a chance to play it, glad I at least installed it yesterday.

*takes out MK8DX game card* Back in the game case you go for another week! *inserts MHGU game card* Right, time for another week of hunts! *looks at full shelf and pile of Switch games next to it* Patience, your time will come! But not today.
