Ha! I just finished watching the direct as well, not more than five minutes ago. December can't arrive quick enough.

Well, I can say that while my Switch is fine, sometimes when putting it into the dock it won't go to the TV when put into the dock even when it's powered up etc. Usually it's to do with the HDMI lead coming loose or something, where my dock is at the moment is "fine" but less than ideal as I have a load of stuff around it on the desk. I'm going to be improving that soon though as part of a general overhaul of my setup. In any case, it is worth taking all of the leads out of the dock and starting again, this usually solves the problem for me anyway. All the best though @Aneres11 as I can't say for certain whether it'll be the same case for your Switch being that it has been dropped but you never know. Being that you've already tried different cables etc though, it doesn't sound hopeful. Whereabouts on the Switch was the main impact when it hit the floor initially? Was it anywhere near the USB C docking port underneath?

Gaming Podcasts: A Thread about Listening to Others
S.C.G replied to Goron_3's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I enjoy Easy Allies for the entire breadth of content that they provide but I hear you on the podcast, it's at the stage now where if they are talking about a game I'm not interested in at all such as Call of Duty etc... then I'll just skip that part of the Podcast, Frame Trap, or Friend Code. Indeed, last night I was listening to Friend Code but sped up to 1.5 times normal speed because I felt that I know their speech patterns now plus I was short on time anyway. Loving the start of the first Season of Box Peek though. -
An excellent video, just in time for Halloween.

I really don't understand why they are doing this, first they said it was to ensure that they hit a certain date, which they then delayed in order to then do this which is worse. At this point they might as well delay it again if it's only a matter of weeks, so that it comes out just before Christmas, they wouldn't miss out on sales and the games would be complete. Really though, it would probably do better as a compilation released in early 2019 at this point, isn't that when Crash was released? That still sold well. As it stands though, yep... £10 or less second-hand copy for me as well then... even though I like the developer, what the publisher is doing is just Activision all over, yet again. Maybe I'll hold out for a Switch port with a later physical release with it all on the cartridge... yeah, I guess that won't be happening either. It's a real shame as it looks like they really put the work in with this trilogy as well.

PlayStation Classic Announced (3rd Dec 2018)
S.C.G replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
And now suudenly I'm struggling to find five games which I think I'd actually play on the device out of those twenty. I think I'll just cancel that pre-order now and save some money. -
Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4/Xbox One - 26 October 2018)
S.C.G replied to Sheikah's topic in Other Consoles
Well, I finally got to play Red Dead Redemption II last night for a total of two hours. Which essentially means that I've barely played it but at least I have a grasp of some basic mechanics now. So far I've killed some things, killed some outlaws, rescued a couple of people, captured someone with a lasso, talked to some people and looted a little bit inbetween the horse riding. It's a good tutorial so far and a decent introduction to the world of RDRII without being too overwhelming initially. The game runs fine on my base PS4 but I did have to turn the brightness up to pretty much full in-game, which isn't really normal. Adjust the slider until the Rock Star logo is barely visible it said... *moves slider all the way up and can still only see a black box where the logo should be* OK then... Aside from that, no real issues and I'll be looking forward to playing more when I can. -
I'm glad I changed mine while I could.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4/Xbox One - 26 October 2018)
S.C.G replied to Sheikah's topic in Other Consoles
I had a look at the last few pages of that Reset Era thread, this is what I understand from it... PS4 base version runs fine, Xbox One base version runs fine but not as good as PS4, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X have some certain issues with certain TV sets? I think it's mostly about the version differences and how it runs overall, I think mechanically the game is probably fine, it might just need some fixes. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much at this stage but I'll let you know if I find anything odd about the mechanics when I get to play it. Either way, I hope anyone who gets to play this today enjoys it. -
Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4/Xbox One - 26 October 2018)
S.C.G replied to Sheikah's topic in Other Consoles
I just received the game in the post, so I was unsealing and checking out the packaging while watching the Easy Allies review for it. I'll now set about installing it so that hopefully it will be done before I got to work, so that I might be able to play it briefly by the time I get back. Edit - well... I'm glad I decided to start installing it now as apparently the physical edition takes 90 minutes to install, so it should be done before I have to go. Edit - just under halfway through when you hear the disc drive stop, you'll see a pause icon on the installation, at this point you need to insert the second disc. So about half of the game install is on disc 1 while the other half is on disc 2, just an extra heads-up for anyone installing from a physical copy. Update - annnnd done! Mission Successful... game installed before setting off to work, I'll probably get home, play five minutes before midnight and fall asleep. But at least it will be playable. -
Just try and stop me! Watch out all Astalos in the vicinity of my Dual Blades.

Found some super old Nintendo stuff in the loft
S.C.G replied to wingmoor's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Welcome to the forum. If this is genuine (we often get spam threads) and these are games in your loft, then they are presumably yours so... you shouldn't have to pay tax on them I wouldn't have thought? Just the usual fees if you're going the online listing route (more if you're going for eBay) but if you're selling and just using PayPal then it would just be the usual fees again. I would be potentially interested once you've got pictures of it all or at least a list. Also, we could probably move this thread to the General Gaming Discussion section. -
Japanese indie shmup called “BLACK BIRD” for Nintendo Switch
S.C.G replied to OnionPapa's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Welcome to the forum @OnionPapa I assume that by your username, that you are part of Onion Games who made Black Bird? If this is the case then, although posting a thread on the forum about it directly isn't the usual way (we get some spam advertising threads so we have to be careful) you have our attention. I've just checked out your website and a couple of trailers for Black Bird which does indeed look like a very intruiging shmup, especially this video... Anyway, I'll PM you and if you decide that you want to send us a review code, then N-Europe would be happy to review this title. -
Sure, I'll join you at around 8:30PM for a bit.

I thought it was just the free gifts I bought off you and not the magazines? Either way, some of the free gifts do go for a pound or two here and there. (I wanted them more for the guides though) But if you do want any of them back then I don't mind.
-
I just had a quick look on eBay for you, some of the N64 magazines are going for £3 - £6 on average per issue but it seems to depend on what games are featured or issue number. I have a feeling that I have most of the NGC magazines from back in the day, but N64 magazine... I don't have quite as many of those so I would be potentially interested. How many magazines are we talking here in total? I know that around 25 - 50 magazines can be rather weighty as I had to store some of mine in the loft. But I think both sets of magazines are great pieces of reference material so depending on how many we're talking here, I'd probably buy some or all of the N64 mags from you. I would expect postage to be around £12 - £15 for starters if it's a lot of issues, so that's agiven but if you were to be posting certain issues seperately on eBay it would be a lot more. That's not so much of a problem as buyer would be paying postage but it just depends on if you were looking to sell a load in one lot or not. Anyway, if you have any pictures of the magazines please or just know which issues you've got of both magazine types then I'd be happy to see if we could work out a deal. Just looking at a few more listings, some of them which have around five magzines have gone for £10 plus £5 postage... but it very much depends on condition really. If you have any of the free gifts which came with some of the magazines, then that would definitely add more value to them.

OK, pretty much ready to play, so let me know when you're both in the same hub @Mokong and @RedShell and I'll join you both for some hunts. In the meantime, I shall brew some tea in preparation for the long hunt ahead.

Sure, I've been a bit absent from Monster Hunter this week as I've been playing local multiplayer with my brother. (something which doesn't happen often enough these days) But I'll likely be getting back into hunting semi-regularly for a bit now.
