  1. Yep, just so happened to be rewatching the previous series' not so long ago as well, so was more than ready for this to come back. I really don't watch much of anything on TV these days but this is worth watching just as the previous series' are, I think the third season is probably the most memorable. I didn't realise this was the fifth season already, either way... what I've seen so far from the first two episodes has been pretty decent. It does make you wonder about how much of it is fact versus fiction though... yeah I know, "the characters depicted... etc" but the inspiration for the writing must come from somewhere. Anyway, looking forward to the next episode on Sunday night.
  2. After messing around with a few settings in the media player app and discovering that the majority of the music on my MP3 player is useless... ...I remembered that I had the entire Yuzo Koshiro Best Collection as MP3 format on my player, so the play session was saved. So long as you've got your own music to listen to - might as well mute the menu music - then Dangerous Driving is a joy to behold. It's Burnout in everything but name, it gets so much right that you can forgive its initial technical shortcomings. Load times are minimal, especially when you're merely retrying, which if you're trying for the golds... you will be... a lot. Plenty of fun single player content and trophies to go for, decent handling on the cars and crashes which are decent enough. It's definitely Burnout on a budget, I can see it getting better over time and in the meantime... I'm going right back for more.
  3. Well I got my copy in the post today. I'm going to try it out in a bit and I'll try connecting my Sony Walkman up to my PS4 for music. I've heard that you can do that and it will use the music application to play them in the background. No idea if this actually works but it's worth a try. Edit - Media Player updated, Sony Walkman recognised with entire song library, Dangerous Driving and Danzer Zone 2 installing.
  4. When did you last have it? What game did you swap it out for? Did you put Mario Kart 8 back in its case or in the other games case? Do you store your games in an alternative case and/or a console carry case? Just thought I'd ask these questions in case they help you to find your game in time. By the time I post this... you'll probably have found your game and all this information will become redundant. See you at 8PM! (hopefully)
  5. That's a shame to hear but I'm not giving up hope, there's still time for it to be refined afterall. I'm backing this game, so I'm still all in for the Switch version.
  6. This isn't the least bit creepy or concerning of Activision at all...
  7. Table Top Racing: World Tour - Nitro Edition Release Date - May 1st Exclusive to the Nintendo Switch Contains all dlc from original release plus much more besides. As someone who enjoyed the Micro Machines games back in the day, I may well pick this up as a close, modern alternative.
  8. After watching this video on the current World's Largest Videogame Collection, I suddenly don't feel so bad about all the games I've collected over the years. Well... maybe "bad" isn't the word but I have been trying to downsize on some of my collection and just keep what I want to play. Anyway, well done to the guy for collecting all these titles, there are some really interesting games in there but also a tonne of stuff which I bet will never be played. It just made me think that I'm glad that I've decided to be more selective in general when it comes to games I purchase. But it is really nice to see so many complete collections in one place, I still prefer Last Gamer's collection (he used to own the world record) though this is still impressive.
  9. Digital Foundry have just brought out a video on it. Looks like it runs well enough on the Pro/One X... not quite as well on the PS4/Xbox One S but still... it looks playable. I reckon with a decent soundtrack, this will be quite fun. I've read that you can play your own music in the background on a PS4 by just sticking them on a USB drive in a folder named "Music" so I'm going to try that out.
  10. So, this is out today! I did get some credit on my PS4 but then I realised that this is getting a physical release for only a few pounds more and it comes with the previous crash mode game. I'll be playing this when my copy arrives, oddly it doesn't seem to be widely available but there are a few copies on eBay... either that or ShopTo just don't have it. The way I understand this is that it's mostly single player modes available now but there are leaderboards so that's nice. Multiplayer is coming later (presumably free... maybe not?) which is amusing because that technically means that this driving game has a roadmap even if it's unintentional. Either way, for what's already there I'd say it's worth the £20 - £28 it costs (£28 physical, I'm assuming digital is £20) and if we get the other stuff soon then that's great. If this game is the starting point for a Burnout style revival, then count me in as while it looks far from perfect, there's clearly a lot to like here from impressions. Now I've just got to get some music put onto a USB drive so that I have some good driving/crashing music.
  11. Another video from Sega Lord X, this time it's about the original Castlevania. It's only short and worth a watch.
  12. While I'd heard that things had gotten pretty bad in the AAA Games industry... I didn't know that things had gotten this bad. The upper management at BioWare clearly have a lot to answer for.
  13. Here is the final article for our Top Ten NES Games. Thanks to @RedShell for the awesome banner/side graphics and @Glen-i plus @Dcubed for organising this. Oh and thanks to everyone for voting of course. (my contribution was making the game banners in the article and getting it uploaded, which was a pleasure as always) Enjoy! And here's to the next one.
  14. Sure, I can play from just after 5PM until... whenever dinner's ready, so might be able to get an hour or so in. Just got a main site article to promote in a certain other thread first.
  15. Voted with a 'Haha' for Furi because I've wanted to play it, I even got the game as a physical release and I'm reliably informed that it's an excellent title.
  16. Well, I just wanted to say that I support both options, I'm not wishing to cause any division here. I really like the N-Europe Video Games Club and I don't want it to end but I also like the idea of a Switch Games Club as well. Especially at a time when there isn't a lot of posting on the forum generally, anything which might increase member participation has surely got to be a good thing? I thought of N-E Video Games Club as being more purely retro focused, so I thought this Switch Game Club might be more about Indie titles on the Switch, of which there are many. Anyway, I hope we can come up with something which will suit everyone, the main thing is that we end up playing more games and talking about them.
  17. Yep, I'd be happy to be a part of this. I've got loads of Switch games I've been meaning to get around to playing, plenty of digital titles that I own physically as well, so this way if one of them comes up, I just might play it. I don't know if you want any suggestions for games or if you had any ideas of titles to pick yet @LazyBoy but I'd be happy to supply a list of some titles if required.
  18. I just got an e-mail which basically just parroted the ways in which I can pay back to me, no real confirmation either way It still does the same thing, put in the invoice number and the amount, then it just states "We are unable to complete your transaction" so I guess it must be paid? In any case, I'd have to wait until Monday to start a live chat to confirm. Anyway, in Mega SG related news, I upgraded my firmware last night to the most recent official version and everything is running very nicely indeed. Castlevania: The New Generation is still hard... more challenging than Super Castlevania IV as at last that game let you retry a fair amount I seem to remember? Not in this Castlevania game, once you run out of the small number of lives and continues you have, that's it, even if you retry from a password. Ah well, I'll try again another time.
  19. Essentially... yes. We don't call her Crazy Towel Lady for nothing. I've got to get back into playing some more Monster Hunter soon, Sunday would be a possibility.
  20. Not tonight, I don't get back until late, same for tomorrow. Another night though.
  21. So Fedex finally billed me for my Mega SG... but then wouldn't let me pay the invoice on their website and there's no option over the phone. I used their contact form, but it's pretty clear that they don't want my money. Meh, we'll see what they say if they reply, damn waste of time.
  22. One sec, I'll just change my shell.
