Small geometry? I recommend playing the game instead of repeating what IGN said... Galaxy's geometry is very complex and a real challenge to render. That's not true. A realistic game can copy many things out of the real world, and doesn't allow as much room for creativity and talent. Super Mario Galaxy is one of the few (only?) games that use anti-aliasing... I play it one one of the most jaggy-prone screens there is (an LCD monitor), and it's really fine. That's not what I'm saying. Resi 4 is a murky brown and gray game. The real world does have color, you know. I don't criticise it, it's just an observation really. Point is, if any effort is to be made, I don't see why they should reuse the GX engine. The only thing Mario Kart and F-Zero have in common is that they're racing games, but they're on opposite sides of the genre, anyway, I don't see the point in comparing a bright fun racer to a futuristic speed racer.

What a load of nonsense. I don't get why people keep on requesting the reuse of old GameCube engines anyway, when it's clear that the Wii has more potential. Nintendo is the only that has pushed the Wii so far. The fact that you're naming Sega as developing great visuals is really far out, too, there's nothing but crap coming from their in-house devs nowadays. Resident Evil 4 is a great looking game, but it's really bland and colorless throughout the game. They're more a technical achievement than they are attractive visuals. Galaxy is both. That, and we musn't forget that is a five-year old engine. The Wii could probably push twice the detail and add some bloom while keeping up the same framerate. Nintendo knows its own system, and they'll find a team up for the challenge. Who knows, it may be Amusement Vision again. They've not announced anything since Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, released in 2006.

Mario Kart Wii isn't a system pusher, but it looks quite a bit better than Double Dash.

If it doesn't go do it automatically, make sure all settings are set up okay in the Windows monitor menu thingy. Also, try pressing Fn in combination with the F1-F12 keys. F1'll probably put the laptop to sleep though.

I guess it's not really morally defendable to eat animals. For meat though, I'll always gladly be a hypocritical bastard

The VDigi cable. Check the thread above, the pictures are taken from my computer monitor. It's a VGA cable for Wii.

Any third party ones will probably make a big difference, you might as well go cheap. Progressive scan makes a huge difference. Try the Video Displays Explained sticky for stuff like this though, it's filled with questions like this.
-
What's your info on the development time of this game? All we know is that it was made public later than Brawl. Big difference there.
-
I'm really curious how well Okami is going to be rated. For me, it's a must play anyhow.
-
Finally got it working in progressive scan ^_^ Will play this game on a beamer tomorrow night

Meh, Galaxy runs at 60 fps solid, with lots of stuff going on. The first thing I thought when sawing the video was "oh, they copied the Galaxy look and feel" - I actually thought it was a good looking Wii game. It's only impossible when you count in Sega's talent.

Not really surprising as the trailer is obviously a PS360 trailer. I don't think the sales of Sonic the Hedgehog on PS360 will warrant an exclusive Sonic, especially not considering they're using Sonic and the Secret Rings gameplay.

What the, that's crazy! I like too!

Wii Freeloader Thread - FAQ & Info in First Post
DCK replied to DiemetriX's topic in Nintendo Gaming
My apologies. You claiming it to be bogus, and the April Fool's appearing minutes later seemed a little too suspicious to me. However, the April Fool's remark is gone now, in Internet Explorer. All we do know is that this updates stops an exploit that allowed homebrewers to program their own Wii Channels (not actual pirating). -

Nice going, editing the wiki to make us believe it was bogus Or, they used a IE-layout exploit to give us that message. I don't know what to think now. -
Damn, just noticed this is a PS360 video. This'd better be on Wii, the gameplay looks made for the controller. And the graphics don't look that much beyond the Wii's capabilities either.

Wii Freeloader Thread - FAQ & Info in First Post

Just wondering, shouldn't you be able to use the Freeloader on a PAL Mario Kart Wii, so that it doesn't install the otherwise forced update (like the FL stops NTSC Brawl's update), and keep on using the Freeloader on Mario Kart and Brawl without an update? -
It's just speculation really, but it's a pretty inevitable. If not this year, then definitely next year.

Wii Freeloader Thread - FAQ & Info in First Post

Nonsense. This update not only blocks the FreeLoader, but a lot of other (illegal) stuff as well, and the site is a pretty lively group to which this is a big problem. This site is not updated for the lolz, and even if it was wrong, it would've been corrected by now. -
Looks surprisingly good to me. Gameplay looks like an excellent find, and the graphics are good too.

I'm using Firefox 3 Beta 4 and using about:config makes a filter field pop up, so it should work this way.

Lately I've been totally in love with the Queens of the Stone Age's new single - Make It Wit Chu It's such a nice chilling out tune. Nice to see their talents aren't purely in stoner rock, but they can make these smooth blueses as well.

Reggie Teases, "Big Holiday Game to Be Revealed At E3"
DCK replied to Fandango's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, true, but MM was really easy for Nintendo as they could recycle very much from OoT to use in MM. They can't do that in Twilight Princess - they'll have to build an engine superior to Galaxy and introduce new revolutionary controls to raise the standard to absurd levels again. The next Zelda will have such a huge production value that they can't possibly release it anytime soon (that is, this or next year). -
Well, if it's not enough for you, buy a second console. Don't go slagging off Nintendo because your gaming needs have grown. The Wii has a pretty diverse library of games, with a top-notch FPA (Metroid), one of the best platformers of all time (Galaxy), an incredible fighter (Brawl) and a fantastic action adventure (Twilight Princess). And that's just the finest out there. Nintendo consoles have never been about realistic racers, but with Mario Kart and F-Zero coming, there's a great deal of arcade racer fun coming our way.

Yah, I saw it. It was really dangerous stuff, they had it coming. So much for that "Oh, Lewis Hamilton never makes mistakes, he is so perfect" crap. Got owned by Kovalainen too. Anyway, I hope it rains tomorrow. Should be good.
