N-Europe London Meet Sat July 24th 2010
Retro_Link replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
Probably couldn't commit to whether I was definately coming or not until much closer to the date, but there's a good possibility. -
Yep same as me: - I've watched the initial trailers for this, but that's it now, no more thanks! - Metroid: Other M and Galaxy 2, I've seen last years E3 trailers... but that's it! - I'll do the same with Zelda. It's actually much easier than I thought to avoid stuff... though I imagine the internet will be flooded with Zelda info when it arises and may be more difficult to miss pictures/artwork etc...

King Long Sauvage is actually REALLY easy if you approach it the right way...

I pretty much always used to do my progress work after the final piece... or atleast at the same time as. Sure all your build up work is supposed to help you reach the idea for the fianl piece, but I never worked like that. I always tended to come up with the near final idea/concept first (sure it might progress a bit). Then just show other ideas that I thought of a long the way.

Personally I'm not looking through rose tinted glasses at all when it comes to Toy Story. Whenever I watch them (now or back then) they are just timeless classics! Such great characters, that exude so much love and warmth, lovely stories, great humour and priceless moments! Sure Toy Story 1 looks dated now visually, but it doesn't detract from the film at all, which shows how strong it is. IMO they haven't come close to being beaten by any 3D animation. The Lion King holds the 2D crown and possibly just beats Toy Story 1/2 to my favourite ever animation.

The Hangover Not 'OMG the funniest film ever' but many a laugh was had! Enjoyed it more than I thought it would. 7/10 The Time Travellers Wife God I well up too easily at films/tv these days!... don't actually cry, but that's almost worse! It was an ok watch, a bit lame really, but an interesting enough concept and acting was alright. 5/10 UP Really liked the first 20mins or so, it felt like we were getting something different from an animated film, but then it just got pretty damn generic really, with a couple of nice moments/scenes later on! Some funny moments... I liked the scout character. But I certainly wouldn't go along with all the rave reviews, and the 'masterpiece' comments. Nothing has ever come close to Toy Story 1/2 IMO... but I'd probably rate UP as the next best Pixar film (ahead of Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc.)... but still quite a way behind. 6.9/10

Just to get closure on those two questions, and to show them my appreciation for the game, I emailed Marvelous Entertainment... who forwarded it on to XSEED...

They might have been posted in here already, but these from... Little Kings Story: Jumbo Champloon Boss Audio Title Screen Audio Town Audio

Well no in this case, because Pancakes fully aware there's a girlfriend.

haha, I am slightly over enthusiastic when it comes to Gears! Yeah I remember you somehow downing him in the end much to both our surprise, as it just sort of 'happened'... nothing done differently to all the previous attempts... just 'ah fuck it'... gun blazing, and he just went down! Role on the third!!
-
haha, he's definately a missed character in F1 nowadays... now almost completely devoid of them! There are so many fantastic youtube clips of him... 'you broke my fucking head', 'fucking raikkonen', 'Oh DEER' etc...
-
Do you all have unlimited broadband?
-
I'm not saying the game has to become the cartoon! But I'd take a nice animated cartoon intro over crude 3D anytime!... heck, do it in a different style if need be!
-
*cough* Resident Evil *cough* Still, should be an enjoyable co-op as always!... looks like it's going very mutant though... hmm!
-
Welcome Eraine! Yeah, I'd quite like to pick the game up aswell, but reading the comments I think it's gonna be a bit too time consuming! I've just finished a 50+ hours playthrough of LKS... not sure I want to go into a possibly endless game along the Harvest Moon theme right now?!
-
I'm curious to know why? ...An animated intro at least?!
-
^ personally I think the opposite is true! I'd have thought more people would be tempted to pick up... Zelda: Majora's Mask, Zelda: Wind Waker... Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, than Zelda 5, Mario & Luigi 3... but maybe that's not the case. I just feel with subtitles they feel more like individual games, whilst at the same time feeling connected.

I don't understand why Nintendo aren't using anime more throughout their pokemon games now that they're on the DS. Push the series forward, give it an anime intro... a few anime cutscenes throughout, and gym leader intro's etc... It would look far more slick than the crude 3D of the HG/SS intro! Professor Layton is a good example to follow (and shows how lazy Nintendo have got with Pokemon)... anime cutscenes, nice 2D backgrounds/characters for conversations, and then the sprites for the main game.

Isn't what is effectively A4 paper size, a little small for a banner?

I guess underwater could just be a case of equiping a heavy airtight suit and walking along the surface, or being pulled along by a weapons equipped handheld propellor devices James Bond uses on occasion, or some sort of ride on sub... in more driving/shooter type levels. Anyways here's a GT Wish List to get you thinking: I preferred Gears 1 for it's more concise story and setting, yet diversity of environments and variety of gameplay types. GT were totally right about it offering breaks from the action and mixing things up... like the awesome Berserker section etc... Each chapter seemed to offer up something fresh. Where as I felt Gears 2 was too guided, and too many driving/passanger sections.

I was at Silverstone yesterday to watch some BRSCC races... Caterhams, Formula Ford 1600, and Formula 3 championships... And the new circuit layout gets the thumbs up from me! I was sat in one of the newer grandstand (I've highlighted in red), on the inside of Priory, and there were some fantastic moments watching the cars speed down the new (quite wide) long straight and into that corner... lockup, spins, offroads, cars 3 abreast round priory, and then a few chances carried through round Luffield. Admitedly this was all mainly from the Caterhams, but there was 20 cars in those races, compared to only 10 in the FF and F3 races. I'm not expecting F1 cars to be as exciting through there as the Caterhams were (damn you downforce!), but the also downforce heavy Formula 3 cars were at least fun to watch, and with an F1 field of 24 this year, hopefully we'll get some good moments!

haha, I suppose not!
