Slightly bugs me that I can't help think of Rhod Gilbert though! :p

I just checked mine and my latest activity was that 500 expired, only to be reinstated 2 days later out of an error or something, so there's a chance it could be something similar, but yeah contact them.

haha definitely! It's funny because yes the original Smash Bros had come before up, but this was just so much more! It's such an incredible celebration, and there's such a wow factor to it! I wonder if we'll ever get a game that has such a feeling about it again, and just what that could be!

Possibly the greatest intro of all time? Those visuals, that music!! Blows me away. It's a reminder of everything great about Nintendo all wrapped up in 1:30mins!

Yeah @Josh64 that video's awesome, haven't seen it before. By the end of it I was thinking '... yeah I think I need to buy Galaxy again!" Also it's been way too long since I've played Mario 64! I'll need that on the Wii U (whenever I get one) eShop I think! (oh and just go ahead and put Diddy Kong Racing on there Nintendo whilst you're at it! ) --- EDIT@ that Earthbound image would make a great piece of wall art!

Nintendo also gave us this...

Have they said what it is. I'm guessing the Nintendo Land game.

Pokemon Wii U (Wanted / Why isn't it happening?)
Retro_Link replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I loved @Ramar's idea of using the GamePad as a Pokedex to scan Pokémon for information, and maybe scan the area for hidden wild Pokemon etc...! And of course you can have your Pokémon moves and stats etc... mapped out on the gamepad to keep the screen clear. Out of interest @Serebii can you just watch this review for Ni No Kuni with an open mind, and see if you think something like that could work for a home console Pokémon?... Pokemon Wii U (Wanted / Why isn't it happening?)
Retro_Link replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I don't want realistic graphics? where are you getting that from? From the very start of this thread I've used Ni No Kuni as a beautiful art style for a console Pokémon game Or they could even use the Wind Waker engine in some form if they're not going to put it to good use. I just think there's so much scope and potential on the home console these days, look at the size of the worlds they're able to create in game like Skyrim or Xenoblade! They could create a vast Pokémon region (I wouldn't want it open world though, more a progressive style, but maybe ultimately open world come the end of the game), and you could travel to islands on your Lapras, Wind Waker Style, or need to get somewhere fast, pull out your Charizard and take to the skies etc... travel on foot or on the back of your Rapidash [/insert favourite Pokémon] it could be glorious! and ultimately so much fun! Using your Pokémons abilities for side quests. Towns, Ports... Battling wild Pokémon, Gym Leaders, walking out into a vast Colosseum for the final battle. A real Pokemon world to fully integrate yourself and get lost in! -
Pokemon Wii U (Wanted / Why isn't it happening?)
Retro_Link replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
@Serebii why is it so hard to see that some people want more from the series than that? A chance to see Pokémon gloriously animated in an expansive console adventure, packed full of side quests. It would be like if Mario was still a 2D side scroller, Zelda was still a top down adventure... people would always be wondering what if, and the potential for the series in this HD era. Personally I just look at Pokémon X and Y and see Pokémon Black and White, except with more 3D elements. But I mean look at those textures and jaggy 3D models. I know Pokémon in it's current form on the handheld isn't necessarily about the visuals at all, but still, it doesn't mean you can't imagine what it's capable of being! I don't know whether it's because 2D handheld Pokémon is such a part of your life that it scares you to think of change for the series or something? But it's really Nintendo's only franchise that hasn't been done justice on a Home Console. -
Yeah I'm the same. I'd even like to try and wait for a price drop, but not sure if that's risky. But then people were going crazy over Tales 3DS when it came out, and selling it on ebay for high prices, and you can still buy it now.

Pokemon Wii U (Wanted / Why isn't it happening?)

Because they carry Pokémon around in their pocket in pokeballs!? -
I think we can only hope in an effort to make up for the last couple of E3 Nintendo are holding stuff back and will announce both GBA and Gamecube eShop games at E3.
-
Ah yeah you're right. So it's two other familiars you get from getting the Wizard Edition. Hmm that's made it a little tricky. 2 kick-ass looking exclusive familiars, or £10 cheaper at Zavvi.
-
The Wizards Edition isn't showing up with a price on Amazon anymore, and instead just says 'notify me when available' so I'm guessing you're probably right @Sheikah and they have sold their initial allocation (The same thing happens with the Hyrule Historia Limited Edition). It's a shame because I really like the look of the exclusive Amazon familiars, but the price hike is a bit much more me (although I'd imagine playing it with the book would be pretty cool; though you might just find yourself not using it after a while). £31 @Zavvi is a pretty great price! (and if you have one of those 10% off codes they send out quite often you can get a couple more quid off too!)

Why on earth do the airports close? Countries like Canada, Iceland, Norway, Finland etc... must have snowy conditions all the time, so it can't be that they can't fly in it? How do they keep their runways open... snowploughs?... in which case, fine limit snowploughs across the country, but airports should always have some, keep them open and safe. Heikki Kovalainen a Finnish F1 driver tweeted this the other day...

Yeah was just gonna post that. Though apparently it's only from a Japanese mag and should be taken with a big pinch of salt.

Hang on, what, so you can download demo's from that?

Seeing as you might be starting a PS3 collection, Uncharted is £8.86 over at Shopto at the moment!
-
I normally like to check the store on a Thursday for new demo's etc... (particularly this week for DMC demo, and maybe the DS3 demo if it's up) and price drops etc... So just a bit annoying that they'd close it on a Thursday too.

I'll tell you what @Cube, lets all just sit in the dark and discuss nothing. Oh no I know, but then it isn't selling, prices may have come down on it a bit (or they could re-spec it to compliment the PS4), and yeah the GamePad is supposedly £100+, so like the Wii U they'd just have to take a hit on console price (not a strategy worth pursuing though). Sony have to integrate the Vita with the PS4 anyway if it isn't to die this year; but yeah maybe that's not the solution. Nintendo has the Gamepad, Microsoft Smartglass, it just seemed Sony's answer would be the Vita (with a price cut maybe) and not something brand new. But anyway, yeah I can see the rest happening. Whilst I always dismissed the Dualshock, now that I actually own one and use it more often it's not as bad as I'd previously thought, but yeah, it's still the worst of the lot. EDIT: duh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh Batarang...
