Nintendo Direct 23rd Jan - Wii U only - Worldwide
Retro_Link replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Looks like summer is a good time to get a Wii U after all the system updates and Virtual Console in place. --- Not to be harsh, but does anyone care about NES anymore... they've already put out these games through Wii and 3DS. A NES themed Wii U/Gamepad would have been a better 30th Anniversary celebration. No Gamecube mention sucks. -
I think someone merged it with a thread started in Gen. Though it should have been the other way round really.

Ok, it's just we're already on page 7, but no big deal. -

Would people like a new thread for the conference start, or ok to just carry on in here? -
@Rummy I think Zavvi might be weird like that regarding Pre-Orders, it that they send you a weekly email apologising for it not being sent yet. I seem to remember having something like that from them I think.

This Generation's New Franchises (2005-13)
Retro_Link replied to Daft's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Sony Sports Champions 1 & 2 --- Man it does Sony a major injustice/disservice not including their games with so far only one edition! Can I at least list them so I have a place to stare at them and savour Sony's success at doing so this generation?... :p Flower Journey The Unfinished Swan Heavy Rain Heavenly Sword Playstation All Stars Battle Royale The Last of Us Beyond: Two Souls Until Dawn The Puppeteer... -
Yeah they cancelled my Limited Edition to. "Unable to source the item"... well why fucking list it then! Oh well, a bit of money saved I guess, as it's been taken out of my hands [and almost literally too!].

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Monster are needed for Diddy Kong Racing! :p -
Think it's pretty much just more of the same from Sony for me! The Blu-ray players already a great addition. And Plus great too (not that I've signed up yet)! Yeah I'm not sure what more they could do though!

Can we keep this thread on the topic of the PS4. Feel free to start a new thread about the Wii Remote.

I did think Mario Kart was a great shout... but then if we're to expect it for Christmas maybe?... it would be a bit early. Retro Studios and Monster Games count as First Party right? -

New games still doesn't have to mean Brand New. Pikmin 3, Game and Wario, Wii Fit, Wonderful 101 (published by Nintendo) etc... would still fit the criteria. Something from Monster Games or Retro would be epic! -
Resident Evil Revelations Heads To 360/PS3
Retro_Link replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Other Consoles
It's not on anywhere near the same length or scale as RE4, 5 or 6 though so I'd have thought £29.99 would be a fair price (same as the 3DS game actually). -

I think @Goron_3's probably right with Pikmin, Game & Wario and The Wonderful 101 in that case. Though surely Revelations will now be shown so I wouldn't expect it be to be fully First Party, with maybe appearances from Monster Hunter and a Third Party show reel. -
Don't remember that happening/can't remember having problems with that... though it was too difficult to pick the eggs up with the plane in multiplayer.

Man the 3DS really did a great job with this game!!... Because if I didn't know better I'd probably think that was just a trailer from the original game, doesn't really look all that improved. I know I certainly don't feel compelled to play through the game again, so not at all interested in this, but nice for those who haven't maybe... though it probably plays better and is cheaper on 3DS! Really if the 360/PS3 are getting this... then as bad as the game is, the Wii U announcement should really have been RE6. In fact a RE6/Revelations combo pack for £40 would have been decent.

Resident Evil Revelations seems like it would make for more of an announcement on the 360/PS3 (and even then I'm not sure given a lot of people impressions of the series atm), because I'd imagine a lot of Nintendio gamers who would have wanted to play that game have already done so on the 3DS. Still ok to have on the Wii U but not really a huge deal. I know I wouldn't feel the need to play through it again, not sure about anyone else? -

Really not gonna read anything into this until I see it. New games as far as the last few Nintendo Directs have been concerned are just games that aren't on the shelves yet, hence montages of Lego City Undercover and Ninja Gaiden etc... So in this case it could just be the Need For Speed, Aliens, Monster Hunter etc... Some new announcements would be great though. -
It sounds good in theory and Sony did purchase Gaikai, but do the UK and the US have reliable enough broadband services/connections to be able to rely all that heavily on internet streaming though do they? It's a different situation in Japan of course.
