We're all beautiful, brah. I love all three BioShock games, but what grabbed me with Infinite was the story that was told, especially the last few hours. The finale just blew me away! The soundtrack and settings in all three games were great, but the third game just took it to a new level for me. I still listen to the soundtrack every now and again on Youtube and it's just...so hnnnnnngggg. Will the circle be unbroken? still gives me shivers. I think that's a strong part of what makes the BioShock games incredible. They are designed to make you feel a bit uncomfortable. The settings and themes are unsettling and quite often you will think to yourself, "hmm, that's a bit wrong!" As a result, it will no doubt turn some people off.

That doesn't bode well for me. My biggest issue with Skyward Sword was the poor narrative and world building.

General Election 2017 - MJ popcorn gif edition
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Chit Chat
I think for the sake of the party moving forward, Corbyn needs to be replaced as leader. He can't unite the party and they are nowhere near providing suitable opposition to the Tories, let alone being the viable party in power. It's a shame for the man, because I do think that he is extremely likeable and is a good politician. But, he's just not the right leader for Labour at this present time. The rest of the party are not blameless either because their conduct has been shocking in support of their leader and they've not provided any reasonable opposition to him as leader. Labour are so shit that they can't even provide opposition to Corbyn, the opposition leader. -

Yeah, maybe she'll change her mind and do a u-turn. She's quite used to doing that. -

General Election 2017 - MJ popcorn gif edition

I'm not ashamed to say that the TRESemme bit killed me. Well played. This snap election just highlights how badly the UK needs a valuable opposition who will at least provide an alternative and try and fight against the party in power. Labour have not sorted themselves out at all and are just not ready for this snap election whatsoever. They are going to get annihilated. The Lib Dems will get some seats and will generally do ok, I feel. But, it won't be enough to stop a Tory landslide. -
Theresa May has just announced that an election will be taking place 8th June. Previously, she said that she would not be calling a snap election. *will update with more info later as this has just been announced minutes ago*

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (December 2017)
Fierce_LiNk replied to Dog-amoto's topic in General Chit Chat
I've watched the teaser trailer and am planning to go into the film with no additional of the film at all. No news, trailers, reviews, etc. I LOVE the title "The Last Jedi" and have high hopes of it being a good/great film. Why is December so far away? That's how I'm interpreting it, too. No Jedi = no Sith = balance restored. -
I'll be interested to see what you think of the collection. I personally love the settings, themes and characters within it. Infinite is my favourite of the lot.

Will most likely get this, probably the digital version so that @Eenuh and I can play it together. Not that bothered about single player stuff, tbh. The multiplayer was fantastic and grabbed me instantly. It's what I'll be going back for mainly.

I'm getting back into Dutch and am throwing in some Spanish too as I was extremely rusty on that. Dutch can just fuck off with the whole "het" and "de" thing, which just seems completely random at times. I find the whole concept of "this object is masculine, this is feminine and this is neuter" to be ridiculous anyway. /rant

I fancied something a bit short and not too time consuming after finishing Horizon a few days back. We got back from Manchester around noon and I thought I'd give PaRappa the Rapper 2 a try after buying it in the sale after enjoying the demo. I've just finished it and had a fun time with this quirky, nonsensical title. It's packed with humour and charm. My favourite level was the Romantic Karate segment, which I thought was great. The game itself is a bit of a mixed bag. It's challenging, but the timing seems a bit off on occasions. I swear that I had my time just about right, but the game penalises you for it. Also, there are occasions where I felt like I had made tons of mistakes, yet somehow the game forgave me. So, it's a bit off at times. On the whole, I thought it was good fun and would probably have been a favourite of mine had I played it when it first came out. For the couple of quid that I paid for it, it's not a bad little game to have in your collection. I GOTTA BELIEEEEEVE! Have you tried purchasing it off the webstore instead of on the PS4 itself or the App? If not, Tales' bit about the verification sounds like it could be right.

@Eenuh pulled a blinder and managed to organise a long weekend over in Manchester for us, including tickets to the game against Chelsea. We also went to the Arcade Club in Bury, which was just fantastic. I know the atmosphere in Old Trafford often gets criticism, but I thought that the crowd were superb yesterday. Really, really fantastic. I checked up on the Red Cafe forums after the game and similar things were said there. Eenuh said that she had a sore throat after the game, so that's something, haha. The Stretford End and parts of the East Stand were just great for the entire match. Rashford had an excellent game yesterday and just ran the Chelsea defence all over the place. However, I thought both Herrera and Fellaini were outstanding yesterday. I know Herrera is getting all of the plaudits as he man-marked Hazard out of the match (as well as assisting the first and scoring the second), but Fellaini was just fantastic to watch, too. He covered so much ground and was everywhere he needed to be. Herrera's movement and energy was crazy. I'm a massive fan of his and think it's only time before he's the next captain. A great team performance and a completely superb experience that I'll remember for a long time.

I really enjoyed that video. Very informative and it goes a long way to showing how much effort went into this game. That's a long development cycle, though. Could be that we don't see a sequel for quite some time, then. Although, the framework and mechanics are all there, which should help speed things up.

Finished the story today. My thoughts can be found in the game diary. Holy fuck, that was brilliant. Lived up to the hype!

This evening, I ploughed through to the end of Horizon: Zero Dawn and have a lot of great things to say about my time with this masterpiece! I was initially a bit dubious about playing through this game as I wasn't gripped by the idea of tribes and robotic dinosaur-things. However, after hearing so many people on here bigging-it-up, I decided to just go for it. First of all, this is graphically one of the most stunning games that I've played. It looks even better on @Eenuh's new tv! I have no idea how it can look even better on PS4 Pro...it must just melt your face off! There were so many moments where I just stopped exploring or whatever I was doing and plunged into the game's photo mode, which should really become a standard feature for all games, imo. The combat is outstanding. It really is. You can approach each battle in your own way. You can go stealth, you can override creatures or you can go all guns blazing. Even then, there's a tactical element with how you fight due to the way that you can target specific parts of the creature, freeze them, etc. By the end of the game, I was switching between 3 or 4 (sometimes 5) weapons and then switching between arrow-types. Sometimes I'd lay a blast tripwire, then shoot a round of fire arrows before switching to the precision arrows and targeting specific points. It's just brilliant. There's depth with the different types of enemies too, as they all have different weaknesses and weakspots and so forth. One area that I think it underrated is definitely the music. There were tons of occasions where I travelled along a beautiful landscape or through a forest and then some kind of atmospheric music would subtly come through. It helped accent some of those moments and that just highlighted the beauty of the world that you were exploring. The story definitely went through the gears towards the second third and became so much more fantastic.

I did the opposite and just gorged on it whenever I could. So difficult to put down. I'd recommend doing Hearts of Stone first before going into Blood and Wine. Definitely do both. Don't forget Bloodborne, either.
-
When you say DLC, I take it that you mean Blood and Wine, too? I loved both expansions, but Blood and Wine in particular is something else.

Just did a nice sidequest:

What do we think the price will be for this then? Obviously, it won't be the same cost as Uncharted 4. Around the £25 mark? An August release isn't that far away. Semi-interested.

I didn't follow the game at all, but I figured it would be a routine Arsenal win. Massively shocked at the 3-0 scoreline at the end. The uncertainty of whether Wenger is going or staying has filtered down to the players. It's one of those situations that should have been resolved a lot earlier and may end up contributing to Arsenal not getting top four now.
