[SPOILERS!!] The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Fierce_LiNk replied to Dante's topic in Nintendo Gaming
That sounds like a pretty good estimate, imo. According to Wikipedia, the Wii version of Twilight Princess launched before the Japanese version, but I can't remember off-hand if that's true or not. (I think it is - but you can never fully tell with Wiki, although it's always been pretty reliable for me). Still, given that, I'd expect the game to be released in Japan before America. No doubt Europe will get eet last. I think Metroid could be released in the Summer and Galaxy released at Christmas, so I've flipped over those two, but they could really go either way. I have to say, I'm very excited about Metroid, probably more so than Zelda. It just seems new and fresh. We'll have to see what Nintendo have planned with Zelda, but right now Metroid is my game to look forward to. -
Ahh, good ol' Tyson. Still, I'd be delighted if the game does fairly well in Europe, and Worldwide for that matter. You can also pick it up for pretty cheap here, too. Quite a few stores are selling it for under 20 quid, which I think it an absolute steal. Buy eet, people. Ooo, really? Ok, I'm excited now, haha. VIVE LA FRANCE!

I may be wrong, but I think a game like Punchout!! will probably always do better and get more recognition in the US than in the UK. Just checked VGChartz and it says its sold more in the US than all of the other regions combined, and then probably doubled.

I'm back home now, so Jim has been visiting the gym. Hoo-har. Had a great back workout, and did a little ab work. I definitely feel it today. God, I've missed that pain/soreness. I'm wondering if I should have a nice warm bath later to help me recover? Good idea or not?

I'm addicted to Punchout!! for the Wii. Ine really did good with getting me this for Christmas. My eyes must have been lit up like a bushfire. So much charm, style, and a lovely sense of humour. I'd consider this to be a hidden gem. I absolutely love the controls and the way that it plays. It's responsive, and very seamless. Also, at times it forces you to think very, very quickly. You start off the game getting battered, but then you adjust to the pace of it, and you start wiiiinnnning. The music and also the character's voice-acting is probably one of the high points of the game for me. Again, it's charming, but it also seems memorable. I remember Ine's sister sat down to watch us play this game, and she was laughing at Disco Kid and his little comments. Plus his little "OWs" as he gets beaten to a bluddy pulp. I've still got some way to go in this game. I haven't tried the balance board controls, mainly due to my lack of one. I've got very few complaints about this, but one thing that does concern me is that I'm not sure about the lifespan of the game. There are challenges you can attempt, three for each character, which enables you to unlock stuffs. Then, there's the main-gameplay mode. After that:

Heh, Internet to the rescue. It probably should have been called off in the morning, I agree. If the weather is bad in the morning, in these sort of conditions it's hardly going to get much better in half a day. I haven't seen photos of what its like in London today, but I assume it's not safe to play football in if they've called off the game.

What the hell? Did you get halfway then they called it off? I saw your post in the footie thread and thought it might have been still on.

Happy Birthday Providings to Jayseven/Teh Emo and also to Mr. Lostmario. Not sure who that DY357-LX geezer is, but happy birthday to him as well.

Great. Just checked the Cardiff website, and schools have been closed early today. Not only that, but pretty much every school has been shut in Cardiff for tomorrow and maybe Friday due to the snow. So, probably no more supply teaching for me this week. For fucks sake, Britain.

The snow has been falling for a few weeks now. It was definitely here when I travelled to Brighton on the 18th...so that is almost 3 Fridays ago now. You'd have thought they would have got their arses into gear and done something about it. Apparantly its going to be like this for quite a few weeks now, but I doubt anything will be done about it. Outside was amazing. Basically, I live in a corner house, so I can see in all four directions from my bedroom window and from my brother's window. Outside, what can only be described as Gang warfare in snowball form was taking place in the middle of the road. The two sides were on opposite sides of the road, taking long range snowball shots. And then, one bomb-rushed the other, shouting "AHHHHHH!" It was just like a war epic, haha. Then, the cavalry arrived, in their cars...they drove past the on-coming army, armed with snowballs. The car took a few hits, haha. Funniest thing I've witnessed so far this year.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles
Fierce_LiNk replied to CoolFunkMan's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm really tempted by that, but I've just been given 3 games as gifts. One of which is Dead Space: Extraction. It would be ultimate greed to buy another game right now. Maybe I should also pick up Umbrella Chronicles beforehand?- 415 replies

Haha, truer words have never been said. "We never get snow at Christmas. Christmas isn't Christmas without snow. This sucks." "Its snowed outside. What the hell. I hate the snow, it's fucking cold. What kind of Christmas is this?!" If I was a kid, I'd be loving this weather. These are the days where memories are born. Having snowball fights with your mates, seeing your footprints in the snow, seeing the streets that we know transformed into a completely different world. It really is quite something. I think us British Folk are getting a bad reputation for being moaners.

I agree with all of what you said. Vienetta IS ice cream. How could you even question it? You fiend.

I've found a few on Ebay, but they're from International sellers from America. So, I'm not sure if that would pose a problem or not: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/__ags-101_W0QQ_dmdZ2?rvr_id=&crlp=1107448675_229447_229448&UA=WVF%3F&GUID=660b15281250a040b1435bd3ff940a50&agid=674677855&MT_ID=10&keyword=ags-101&ff4=229447_229448 It turns out that it may not have been released in all European countries. Wikipedia says that there have been a few reportedly seen in Germany and Italy, but after that...it's all very quiet. So, it looks like you're going to have a tough time tracking one down, I'm afraid.
-
Ooo, my apologies. I didn't see the plus sign. I'll have a little hunt for you now. According to Wikipedia, it got a very limited release in Europe, mainly due to the DS being released so soon after it.

Hey there. I'm pretty sure you would be able to use the Oracle games. Unless there's some secret reason why you can't that I don't know about. I never personally owned an SP, but I assume that you could play the entire backlogue of Gameboy colour and advance games. The system was definitely released in the UK, and again I'm assuming that it was released in Europe. I've had a quick hunt around fo you, and found this link at Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Game-Boy-Advance-SP-Silver/dp/B000087H7T You should also probably be able to find it on Ebay, too. Better still, here's a link to many on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Dvideogames&field-keywords=gba+sp&x=0&y=0

Ahh, I remember now. Thank you, my dear/s. So, I got myself a hot cuppa tea last night, and position myself infront of the telly, and played this until the early hours of the morning. I can't tell you all how much I love this game. It's charm on a disc. My only worry is that it may be a bit short? I've done the minor and major circuits/the first two so far, so onto the third one. I've heard some stuff about the game, in particular:
-
If you're not getting into the games, then the cure isn't to find more games to play. Unless you're just tired of those games, rather than the entirety of gaming. If you're not turned on, don't have sex. Same thing applies.

The criticism seems to be aimed at there being a lack of English/British managers getting the highest profile jobs, like the England job for example. I think there were some areas where people were disappointed that Capello was employed instead of another British manager. But, the problem I think is that there wasn't an available British manager at the time who probably could have stepped in and done as good or a better job than Capello has done. When I say available, I mean managers who were not already at a club, and who were probably tempted to change jobs. There are some great managers out there. Owen Coyle is one of them, David Moyes is somebody who I really respect, and Harry Redknapp would also fall under this category. However, if Harry was offered the United job tomorrow, how would we feel? Or if Owen Coyle was given the Arsenal job, for example. In truth, everybody has to start somewhere, and sometimes you have to take a gambles to truely reap the rewards. I've heard a few United fans in the past say that they would be happy if David Moyes took over at Old Trafford in the future, and if it ever does happen, then he deserves a fair chance. The media is really fickle, and there's a great degree of criticism that takes place in this country. Not only that, but the expectations are always high. But, back to the main point, there are some great managers out there, and who will surely be getting better as time goes by. Managers like Ferguson and Wenger didn't just become great managers overnight. It takes a lot of grafting, work, and also being able to make mistakes, but then learning how to avoid those mistakes again.

Well, I meant to say the other part of my head. Think of it as a partition. There's a wall that seperates one side from the other. Like Berlin. Maybe one day, the Hasselhoff will tear it down.

You know that thread earlier where you were talking about what you thought people looked like. Well, I think you're some kind of Shakespearean actor. Christmas and New Yeeear was amazing. I loved seeing my Brighton peoples, and seeing the place again. But most of all, it was lovely being with the female, again. The highlight would possibly be New Years Eve. Making the traditional Christmas Lasagna, drinking fruity cider, and seeing the snow come down amongst the fireworks. I'll never forget that. I got back in Newport pretty late last night, and I was looking forward to resting today, and taking eet easy. But then, I got a call at 9 o'clock, to go and supply teach in a Private School in Cardiff. In my head, I thought...piss off, I want to sleeeep. But, in my other head, I thought, it's money. So, I went. Thank you, head. I asked my brother for a lift to the train station, and it turns out he's bought himself a new car. Well, an old car, but it's new to him. So, I may be using his old oneeeee. Just need to check out insurance stuffs. This should make getting to work a lot more easier and hopefully will mean I'll be able to work in a lot more schools for more money nowww. The school itself was nice. The highlight of the day was a pupil in my class of about 15 crying when trying to teach the art of rounding numbers up and down. It turns out one of the kids had told him that they didn't think Father Christmas/Santa Claus existed. One of the kids even suggested that Santa was working with the parents in some kind of partnership. In the end, I just played along, and said that it was common knowledge that Santa reimbursed the parents after they bought the Christmas presents. These kids are in year 6. YEAR 6. They'll be in High School in September. Well...they'll probably just go to the High School part of the Private School place they were already going to. But still. I was shocked.

My plan to play this has failed miserably. Face/Off is on telly, so I've been watching that with a bowl of Vienetta. Sometimes, I wish real life could go split-screen, so that you could do many different things at once. I think women have this... One other thing, in regards to unlocking bonus material, do you have to finish all three challenges for each character in that exhibition menu? I completed a few challenges for some of the characters, but I can't remember if I got stuff for doing each one. There's one where you have to beat Von Kaiser in under a minute which I've tried a lot but just can't seem to do...yet. I need to get better at this.
-
I paid around 40 euros for Ine's copy, and then around 20 quid for my own copy a few months later. I can't remember what the conversion rate was back then, but I think 20euros would be a very good deal for it...so you did well. Was that new?

Some thread about 3D gaming where people argue
Fierce_LiNk replied to Caris's topic in Other Consoles
I kinda like Choze. He's essential. Otherwise, who else would people take their aggression out on? Zechs isn't the same. It just...isn't the same. You couldn't have a 20 page argument with Zechs. But Choze, part of me has always thought he was a joke account or something. -

In a way, it seems like you're letting that game of the year stuff dictate what you're playing. If that works for you, then that's alright, but it just seems like you're playing it for them and not for you, if that makes sense. I think what a lot of Wii owners tend to do is buy games on the cheap, so they look out for stupidly sweet deals. That's where the bargain threads and people like Dante and Welsh_Gamer come in handy. There were a few people who managed to pick up A Boy and his Blob for a tenner, because one person notified the rest. I notice that you live in Ireland, so I don't really know how it works over there, or even if you have problems when ordering stuff online...maybe we should smuggle you into England? Or even better/worse...Wales. Hmm, with the pity vote, I often find it's the opposite. I think too many people on the Wii board are too harsh on the games. At the end of the day, they're just games and they're a form of entertainment, but I think perhaps as gamers we're being too critical of that and overlooking the more simple stuff. Does it make us entertained? Does it make us want to play more, and so forth? I think I've been a lot more entertained than I was with the Cube, but maybe not as much as with the N64. The Wii is still missing that definitive shooter. Edit: Just seen your new post, MCJeeeee. Yes, be positive! Oh god no, one Choze is torture enough. Actually, didn't Choze used to be Pro-Nintendo, then Pro-Microsoft, and then Pro-Sony? What is he now? Pro-Abortion?
