Is the winner decided in a similar fashion to the X-Factor. I mean, do you have to phone in to win, and then the winner is the one with the most votes? Did anyone here actually vote? If so, then it's a bit...daft to argue about the result of a public poll if you didn't vote. Ryan was nominated for a reason. If he really didn't deserve to win the award, then he wouldn't have been nominated for it in the first place. Why nominate someone if they have no chance of winning eet? Like I mentioned earlier, there were some great candidates and everyone was in with a shout. Ryan himself was shocked, but delighted that he won. It's not the most important award in the world anyway, so why get annoyed about eet? These people are all champions, or at the very least, they are regards as top sportspeople. The highest in their profession. It could have gone to anyone. As for tonight, fuck yes. We're playing 4-4-2 again. With Berbatov up front and Obertan playing on the left. Our weakness could be the lack of energy in centre midfield. Scholes and Gibson aren't the most mobile, and I can definitely see Anderson or Fletcher coming on later if things don't work out. De Laet playing right back, and Carrick at centre back again. He doesn't actually look that out of place there, although he should have had a penalty given against him in that Champions League match against Wolfsburg.

In all honesty, we could learn a thing or two from their organisational skills. I'm getting better at eet.

It may be because of the angle of that photo, but...I can't even see your face in that phot, ReZ. All I see are breasts. Breasts Breasts Breasts Breasts Breasts.

I am identical to the stuff you have posted in your post. Buying presents don't take weeks? Well...be glad you haven't met me yet, haha. I don't rush for anyone. Not even Mr. Christmas. I should start on Ine's birthday presents soon. February. It'll come quick, just you watch. Also, like Moogleviper, I thought this thread was about suggesting presents for others.

There were many worthy people nominated for this award, and I think Giggs was one of them. Honestly, it could quite easily have gone to one of the others. How do they choose the winner anyway? When I was growing up, the man I wanted to be most like was Ryan Giggs. Not just the way he gives his all for the team on the pitch, but the way he conducts himself. He's always been a very humble man, gracious in victory and defeat. Never throws his toys out of the pram, and realises that football is only a game. (the best game in the world, mind. ) Off the pitch, he's always doing some sort of charity work, but he doesn't seem to do it to boost his own ego. It's purely about helping others. There is not a single other footballer in the world who I respect more than him. His age is a huge factor. For someone at his age to still be playing at the highest level, and still be seen as an essential component of a team, that is remarkable. Like Fresh posted, he has achieved so much, breaking particular records in this year alone. Yeah, they were done over a considerable length of time, but I think that just highlights even further how well he has done. He's had the drive and the hunger to keep going so that he could reach these feats. I'm biased because I've grown up supporting the team and thinking of him as a legend for so many years. But, he was nominated for a reason, and he won for a reason. It doesn't mean that the other nominees didn't achieve anything significant, because they all did. That's why they're all nominated in the first place.

So, I take it you've now thrown the personal preference argument out of the window, yes? Zack's voice is for a specific purpose. The music is meant to be angry, and threatening. So, it fits that purpose. -
Hurraaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Dit is goed nieuws! My day so far has been a bit slow. Going to pop to the train station to book a ticket, and then go to de gym.

That is amazing! I want one. I've notched up another gift/gifts for Ine. Now, there is another gift I need to track down, and then the final one. But, I'm not sure how I can go about that last one. I'm going a bit over-budget. D'oh.

Rage Against The Machine Xmas No. 1 2009

I think the general consensus is that the people are buying the songs because they are a product of the X-Factor. Rather than the song itself. I swear I saw a post earlier which said that the winners of the X-Factor could sing anything and they'd still get to Number 1 For Christmas. The last four Christmas Number Ones have been winners of the X-Factor. I believe that quite a large section of the public thought "ok, we've followed this guy/girl through the show, they've won, and now we're going to buy the single to show our support." I don't think it's to do with the songs itself, but the people behind the songs. (That's my opinion/take on it.) -
Because the people are "in" on this journey, too. They like having their favourites, they also like having these hate figures. Someone to moan about. If somebody has got a particularly emotional story or a reason for why they're going on the show (Channel 4 took the piss out of that. With "Are Wayne" That thing with Peter Kay - I'm doing it for my dead mother's Dog) then they want to see that person do well. They like having winners (rags to riches). That's why they vote. They're voting for their personality as well as the songs that they are singing.

I find that part a bit strange. Of course it is spectacular. The start of the show is one long hype until the final. Each week, the contestants have their performances shown in front of the nation. Each week, their lives are talked about in tabloid newspapers. At the end of it, one or more of the contestants is given a music contract. They become stars. How is that not spectacular? For the people involved, it is a huge journey for them. Then, a year later, the process is repeated. The people who partook in this journey the year before are then lost in the wilderness. What becomes of them is a mystery. They are made "stars" and then the public lose interest and look forward to the next "star" that is created. The journey from the start, being someone with a quiet life and then performing infront of the nation, that journey is what the public loves. That's the "spectacle." Personally, I just find it a bit...well...cruel almost on the people involved. But then, they audition to be on the show, so they should know what they're letting themselves in for.

Haha, I think Ding's been playing really well for most of this week. So, once he got to the final, I thought he'd hold his nerve and take his chances. Well, Higgins owned O'Sullivan for the first 8 frames. Can't believe Ronnie came back, though. Higgins must've been shitting eet.

You could photoshop out her legs and pass her off as a mermaid. The red dress and sitting on the rock (and beauty of course) made me think of that. Very well done, Mr. Iun.

For some reason, my brother is a fan of Ding. So, I've been paying particular attention to him. He's done very well, and I think he'll win now. 9-8 to Ding. 32 ahead. 51 remaining. He'll win eet.

It's a compliment for girls. For us though, being in our 20s, we don't want to look like we're "too" young. We want to look our age, I think. I'd hate to be 30 and still look the same, haha. Hmm, maybe I won't be saying that when older.

I think that, too. To me, I still think I look the same as I did when I was 12. Two things that make you look a bit older are stubble and glasses. When I wear both, I look and feel older. Molly, from your picture I'd say you were around 19 or something. Which is a good age to look, I think. Well done.

Ahh, Stop Crying Your Heart Out. Heh. Hmm, I'll give it a listen at some point. I don't mind Leona much. She better not keel eet, though. I'm not a fan of the X Factor, but my Mum is quite into it. My Dad, who's probably related to Cube somehow since he's uber grumpy too, also watches it with her. It gets them talking to each other, so it can only be a good thing, haha. (I joke, Cube)

What what? What was she singing? I'm watching Elf on Channel 4 + 1. With the lovely Zooey Deschanel.

In short, Liverpool didn't really close down Arsenal's players anywhere near as quickly as they did in the first half. Glen Johnson has a horrible 10 minutes or so, scoring the own goal, and probably should have prevented Arshavin from getting to the ball about 3 seconds before he then put it in the back of the net. As soon as Arsenal got the equaliser, I think any inch of confidence Liverpool had in the first half just went out of the window.
