What Were You Doing This Time A Decade Ago?
Fierce_LiNk replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
Ine got me the Doovde Boxset for Christmas. So, byebye tape versions, to the cupboard you go. We watched the first one (her first time) a few days ago. Quite a good New Year's Film to watch, as you say. You're going to eat lightning and crap thunderrrr! -
I'm going to have to say that I completely disagree with the comments about the pacing of the game. The pacing of the game matches the feel of the game. I like that it simply isn't one of these games where every room is crammed full of enemies, and where you have to kill every last one before progressing. In fact, that was a huge criticism of mine with Resident Evil 4, there were simply too many enemies, and it became an action outing rather than a Survival Horror. Think of the first Resi for example: Each room wasn't filled with enemies, and sometimes you could go by for many minutes without seeing anything. But, imo, that adds to the uncertainty. It works the same in this game. True, there are some parts where the enemies just keep coming and coming, but these are spread out so that it doesn't become too repetitive. I think a lot of care has gone into this to make it a tense experience, but also a different experience to what is out there at the moment.

Dead Space: Extraction I know this game isn't or won't be for everyone, but it really is ticking all the right boxes for me. The more I play eet, the more I'm getting sucked in and the more I want to play. I haven't played that many light-gun games in the past. A few over the years, but I missed HotD: Overkill and I only borrowed Umbrella Chronicles for a short time, so my experience on the Wii is quite limited with this. But, I have to say that it works for me. It pretty much feels like you're being walked through a film, but you're never certain what's around the next corridor or through the next door. That works for me. There's one great part where you're going through a set of Air Vents, and I just screamed out "ALIIIIEEEEN!" when playing. A very tense part of the game, because of the reduced lighting, the claustrophobia, and the segments where you hear the creatures but are not quite sure where they are. For me, it's a 9/10 game.

If you were going to change completely who you were, then surely you'd also be changing the good parts of yourself that existed before? So, I don't think you could completely change everything. You could definitely change some stuff, like being more/less serious about certain things, understanding the responsibilities that you have, being more relaxed (or equally, being more stressed). But, to me, I think certain things are just embedded within you, like having good intentions or being good natured. I think I changed, definitely within the last few years. The turning point was definitely the ex. (!!!fgsgtgdgsgdgrgegs!!) Since then, I've kinda had to retrain myself I think, so now I'm more calmer about stuff, probably a bit too much, but eet works for me. :p

Sorry dude, but I'm afraid to say I chuckled hard at this part. I just had visions of you putting on your goggles, wearing your digging gear and grabbing a shovel. "We're digging for LOVE!" Happy New Year, Suckers. The only thing I want is for each year to be better than the last. Hehe.

What Were You Doing This Time A Decade Ago?
Fierce_LiNk replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
I pretty much did the same thing, but with Fifa 2000. I started at around noon, and pretty much played it until...11 o'clock. By then, I stopped playing and walked with my family to the big bridge close to our house to watch the fireworks, with lots of other peoples. I don't exactly know why, but I was completely addicted to that game. -
The Format is getting my vote. Although, the song and video seem to be made by the makers of Sesame Street. Without the puppets.

Happy Birthday, Saint John. -
Haha, Re4 is probably the longest game I've ever played. I just started playing it, then stopped for work reasons, then got back into it, then more work, then stopped. Ahh. I'm going to start it again at some point and just play it through, hopefully without stopping so often. I think that ruined the flow of it for me. I was glad when I finished it, but I want to go through it once more. Yessss. It's very fun.

The lovely Ine has bought this for me for Christmas, and I must say that I am loving every second of this game. First off, it feels very cinematic, and there's a great atmosphere about the game. I did feel a bit uneasy playing through some parts of it, and the enemies just seem to appear all over the place. Secondly, the game itself looks and sounds great. The developers have done a wonderful job with this, and can only be commended, I think. Lastly, the pacing is great so far. I haven't been quite sure when the enemies were going to pop up. And, I like how every room isn't simply filled with crazies, where you just blast them to get through. It makes you feel uneasy when you're not sure if the next room will be filled with enemies, or if they're hidden, or if it's a quiet room or something. So, I must say I'm a huge fan of this so far. I think the term "Guided-FPS" that was used earlier in development is a suitable tagline for it. The lack of control over your character does seem to make the game pretty tense. Also, the jumpiness of the camera adds to that feeling, too.

Soooo, after many months of wanting this game and being too skint to afford eet, Ine has bought it for me for Christmas. It is very bluddy good. Old School, Fun, but so very new at the same time. It could be in my top 5 Wii games already.

The Christmas Present Thread 2009
Fierce_LiNk replied to Dannyboy-the-Dane's topic in General Chit Chat
Many cheeky snogs were had after each present was given. Although, I did suck very badly with keeping to the budget. But, all the presents didn't seem enough by themselves, and I didn't get the box til last. So, by the time I got the box, I thought "sheeeet, money all gone. Sadface." Now for my presentttts. First up, Ik received...The Colour And The Shape I've heard all the songs off this over the years, but never actually physically owned the album itself. So, to finally have it in my possession is great. Then, Dead Space Extraction. This was a surprise gift. I've been tracking this, and I did want to buy eet, but again never actually got around to eet. So, I was very chuffed with it. I've played some of it so far, and I have to say that it is an awesome game. Next up, Punchout!!! I've been salivating over this for months, and I really should have bought it months ago, but lack of monies has meant that I also didn't get around to purchasing this. Very, very chuffed with this. Played a few games earlier, and it's bluddy fantastic. And, finally... The Conduit Ine did very well. These are all things that I've wanted to get myself, but didn't have the money or the time to, so to get them as Christmas gifts is great. This year, she appealed to my gaming side, and I appealed to her feminine side. Hehehe. Also, she gave me some birthday gifts as well, as my day of Birth is next month and we won't be together for then. I received... and Both of which got a FUCK YEAAAAAH from me. I have the first 5 Rocky films on tape, and Balboa on doovde. But, now I've got the lot on DVD, so I'm going to get Ine to watch these films as we haven't seen them together yet. Also, I'm a diehard Prison Break fan, so very happy to get the lot on DVD. Must have cost her a fortuneeeee. Edit: I make mistake. Rocky ees the Christmas gifts en The Condoo-eet is my birthday gift. -
Haha. I've wrapped all of Ine's presents. Wohoo. Watching Speed, too. I'm debating whether to pack now or to just leave it til tomorrow. Hmm.

So, I was right the first time? A cheeky snog? I mean, you didn't have acrobatic sex or hardcore fumbling, right?

Well, you will be getting a lot more than a cheeky snog. It has almost been two months, remember? I know what a bit of passion is on myyyy scale. But, I don't know what it is on Molly's scale of passionness.

Ooo, what qualifies as a bit of passion? Was it just a cheeky snog whilst no one was looking?

Merry Christmas, Suckers. I hope you're all having a good one. I'm watching The Matrix Revolutions on ITV2+1. Yes. The Definitive Christmas Film.

It doesn't really have to do with the quality of the game itself. I don't think any of those games could even have a negative word associated with it. The audience there just seems to be more geared towards the 2D Side-Scroller Marios, rather than the 3D more expansive games. Nostalgia probably plays a part, too. Hence why New Super Mario Bros on the DS sold so highly. It was a nice new game but in the 2D format of the old ones, so for many it was like reliving your childhood again. At least for me, anyway. It's a shame that Galaxy didn't sell more, though. It really deserves to.

I wanted to pinch it, haha. But, I don't think I would have gotten away with eet. Running down a crowded shopping centre lugging a big Terminator statue...thing...with me.

On the plus side, if you didn't like the guy, you would be pissing on his face everytime you went to the toilet. You can't buy that. That's brilliant. When walking through Bluewater Shopping Centre, I saw a statue of the T-600 from Terminator Salvation in a window. So, I got my friend to take a quick photo of me with eet.

As promised, here are two photos that I took of Preston Park in Brighton. This is a photo of my two friends (who I stayed with) having a snow ball fight on The Level. At this point, my hands were freezing because I was throwing snow balls without gloves on. So, I took a break and took a few photos. Aaaand...this is me failing to Ice Skate at an indoor ice rink.
