Did I read that wrong, or did you just say your tv was stolen? Sorry to hear about that. Was anything else taken? And yeah, that could have been a lot worse. It's been another quiet day today. Not even sure if many schools are open, so it might be another quiet week with regards to work. There's a few jobs coming up now, but most are Infants School Based, which I have taught in but am not specialised in. There's one that has come up in Bristol, though. I'm going to be positive and go for everything that comes up...which I was doing anyway. But, I'll do eet with a smile!

One thing that pissed me off at University was "non-contact time." Yeah, it is important to do your own research, and becoming more independent with your studies. But, apart from my first year where I think I was in every day with quite long hours, it was a joke towards the end. In my second, third and fourth years (third and fourth in particular), I doubt I was in for more than 3 days a week, at a push. My hours were stupid too, and I'd hazard a guess that maybe I was spending between 8-10 hours a week at uni. Imo, that's nothing. I don't think it was great value for money at all. The lecturers and teachers were pretty good, but we just didn't spend enough time hearing what they had to say. Given that our course was teacher training, it didn't feel like we were being trained an awful lot.

I really don't think waggling the wiimote up and down to bounce the ball is a good idea, imo. It would be a bit tedious after a while. That's the SNES game. Now, when the whistle goes at the start, you could flick up on the remote to intercept the ball. You could also flick up to block, so if an opponent is shooting at your basket, you could get in their way and flick up to block. As for controls, there's quite a few possibilities. You could pass the ball with the A button. Or, is the Wiimote going to be used with that? Or could that be used for shooting? Or maybe A plus Wiimote is pass and B plus Wiimote is shoot? There's a few options there. I can think of a basic control scheme, but I'm not sure how to take advantage of the sensors.

There's always a way. I was a bit confused as to how exactly Mario Charged Football would work, but it worked really well, I thought. Actually, if you took that game and replaced the footballs with basketballs, it would work. I would bluddy love a game like that. I'm not sure how exactly you'd use WiiMotionPlus, though. Or at least, how it would be used well. Think on this, I will.

I never played it on the SNES, but I have heard of eet. Just watching some yootoob vids of it naw. It would be great if they went all Punchout!! Wii or Mario Strikers Charged on this.

I think there's room for much improvement in the sequel, if it does come into existence. Just being able to do more things in the level would be great, like maybe little challenges throughout each one. Think of the Tony Hawk games for example, where you have a number of challenges to complete in each level. I think that would break up the gameplay somewhat and make it less limited to just killing. There were some really neat ways to kill in the game, but there's always more they could do there. It seemed to get a bit repetitive though, and there wasn't too much variety outside of the "impaling the characters" or "repeatedly slamming them on the spikes then impaling them." It's a very fun game, but I can definitely see why it feels repetitive. The Black Baron's challenges were great, and they were a big high point for me. That served as a great little break in the levels, and it was pretty funny, too.

Sorry to hear about you and your ex, Charlie. Going out and cheering yourself up with mates sounds like a good option, imo. Even if you don't drink, the company will do you good I think. You can always revise for exams tomorrow, and you probably won't get much done tonight anyway with this on your mind. Also, staying friends with her isn't a bad thing. It doesn't sound like you've had a horrible break-up, and it seems like you parted on good terms. So, staying as friends for now sounds good to me. If you'd be ok with that, that is.

I really like Madworld, too. There are quite a lot of people who hate the game, though. The only problem I have with it is that it is a tad bit limited at times, I only wish that they had included more stuff for you to do in the game - more weapons, even more ways to kill, and a bigger range of enemies. A sequel would be great, and I'd buy it.

There were only 2 Premier League games over the weekend. Arsenal against Everton, and Birmingham against United. The rest, including todays Premier League games were called off. Snow has prevailed.

He was an old N-E member, but he got banned some time ago. Can someone else add some information? I can't think tonight. The jist of it is that he used to be a...menacing looking guy, looked pretty tough. But then decided that he wanted to be a woman, which is fine of course, his decision and all that. Just, his attitude changed, too. In fairness to Rokhed, I think quite a few people were aggressive towards him. Which just caused a lot of arguments. I quite liked him, when he wasn't having an argument.

Haha, I don't think Rez will be changing anytime soon. I thought the Rokhed thing was some sort of elaborate joke, but it was real. I've never really known a person to change personalities so quickly and so badly.

I know there's a lot of history there, but I mean was there any warning of the danger the team were facing when they were travelling? Or, was it really an ambush? In that first link Happenstance posted, it said that they were shot by robbers. I just find that bit odd. They must have been targeted beforehand? Just makes me think "why them?" My knowledge of the extent of the violence there isn't great, so maybe there's a reason why Togo were singled out in particular.

Yeah, this doesn't mean that there will be problems when the World Cup comes around. But, I think one issue it does raise is how security will be enforced when the World Cup does start. If something like this did happen in the opening few days of the World Cup, would they call the whole thing off? What measures will they go to, to ensure that nothing like this can potentially happen? I don't think there was any warning of this happening, so it just seemed to come out of nowhere. Is there still a threat to the security of players at the moment? If there is, then the ACoN should be called off. If they can't guarantee the safety of players, staff or fans, it has to be called off.

I heard it was pretty much that, although the reserve keeper bit is news to me. But, bluddy hell, this is an awful situation. The game against Birmingham could have gone either way. We absolutely battered them in the first half, then they go one nil up from a corner. I don't know what happened in the second half, but they had more of a go at us and we just couldn't respond. We were lucky in the end to get the point, especially when Fletcher got himself sent off at the end. We need to take tips from Birmingham. They can defend. At the moment, we just can't. If it weren't for Tommy K, we would probably have lost by about 2 goals today. Our defending this season has been bluddy awful. Sooner Rio and Vidic are back in defence, the better.

I keep reading it as Roo-stoof. I really wish you'd change it back to the Villan, though.

I know Jayseven has some family in Newport, and I know Jimbob is pretty much next door to me in Caldicot. I'm the first generation of my family to be born in Newport, me and my brothers and my older sister. The rest of my family were all born in the Manchester/Greater Manchester area. So, they originate from Manchester, but some of them were born in Bury, some of them were born in Rochdale, and some were born in Bolton. My grandmother's brother still lives up there, although I haven't seen him in years. Newport itself was an ok place to grow up in when I was younger. That's the famous transporter bridge. It stopped working when I was in Primary school, but then they got it working again some years back. We've also got a castle, which is by the town bridge. More recently, a small footbridge was created last year. I'm not a fan of it. Whilst it pretty much is across the road from my house, it doesn't feel safe to walk on at night. It's behind some houses, and there are a few "quiet" areas. If I was a mugger, I would position myself at the end of that bridge and wait for the money to come in. But I'm not a mugger, so it's ok. But they exist, though. So, be careful. That's one end of our highstreet. They've been doing a lot of work around the city in time for the Ryder Cup which arrives later this year. Thing is, they didn't really...finish any of the stuff they started. This is a CGIed (I think) imagine of our shopping centre. They pretty much demolished the old one and created this. Did they create all of that? Nope. All they did was create that centre bit which says Kingsway Shopping Centre. There's barely any shops around it. There's a subway, and a greggs, I think. That's it. The picture there is nothing like how it looks in real life. Not only that, but that shopping centre flatters to deceive. It looks impressive on the outside, but there's a lot of empty space inside. There's maybe 8 shops, and one of those is a Wilkinsons (which I HATE) which is two floors high. All in all, I'm not a fan of living here, especially after living in Brighton for 4 years. I know I'm not going to stay here forever, because it just isn't where I want to be anymore. To be honest, I'm not sure why my family moved down here all those years ago. I asked my Mum, and she said Ask your Dad. I asked him, and never got a straight answer, so I played some Wave Race instead. Since then, I just couldn't be bothered again. I quite like Hasselt (that city Ine posted). It definitely feels different to me...I'm there and it just has a different feel to the UK. You can definitely tell its in mainland Europe, if that makes sense. Plus, I love the smell of waffles when we go shopping.

Add me to the "I love His Dark Materials" group. Great series of books. Aye, I grew up in Newport, but I don't look or sound like I'm from Newport. It's got quite a distinctive accent. "So I goes to him, le's go to da pah-k in ma cahhhh, brah" Do you know where exactly she lives?

If a film is created to use this technology, to use this tool, then surely you can see that you're not experiencing it how it was intended by the director if you watch the Non-3D version? It's like watching 2001 in black and white instead of colour. The film was designed to be in colour, so you're not getting the intended experience. You'll still be watching the same film (never seen it in black and white though, haha) but you won't be watching it how it was meant to be seen. How can we do that? Mmm, steaks.

Great post, man. Also, props for mentioning 2001, I love it. Although, the book differs from the film, in that more is explained in it there. Kubrick really held back quite a few things when he made the film, because he thought it would add a more mysterious element to the film. Which it does. Take that last scene for example. That scene left me scratching my head when I saw it. But, when I did some research into it, I found out that the book goes explain the purpose of it. So, I'm now trying to get the book! I think something like the last 20 mins of that film feature no dialogue. It's definitely a trip, and I love it. A favourite of mine.

I keep thinking of Debt for some reason. So, the bigger it is (your debt) the less you see your money. Because...it kinda isn't there anymore. Actually, that makes very little sense. Edit: Doh, I didn't see the above comment about it having to do with darkness. An eclipse? Edit, the sequel: Bah, that was rubbish, too. I haven't got my riddle hat on tonight.

I did enjoy Avatar in 3D, but I wouldn't want to watch every film in that way. Not at the moment anyway, because I don't like wearing the glasses. It's a barrier between yourself and the film. But, if they can accomplish 3D without the need for glasses, I'd like to see what that would be like. As for the plot of Avatar. Yeah, it wasn't extremely original. It's pretty much identical to the story of The Last Samurai, which I loved. But, it worked for me. Whilst it wasn't original, I didn't think it was a terrible story at all. The story isn't the focal point of the film anyway, it's mainly about the Na'vi, and Jake's interaction with them. Gradually throughout the film, you see less and less of the humans until the final battle.
