    WE WON IT ONE TIIIIME

  2. I've sent mine now. Clearly the lower league of last season with DRAGOOOOO, Submarines, Elites, Haden's Rangers and Bayurn Neverwinnin was the best season evaaaaa. Brilliant banter, close title race, with the almighty DRAGOOOOO winning, obviously. DRAGOOOOO are also pleased to announce that they have moved to their new 60,000 seater stadium, Stade de DRAGOOOOONIA.
  3. I'm with you there! Love seeing this thread busy. Missed league football. Excited.
  4. Lol, I meant our medical staff, not yours. Jonny Evans was class last season. Utterly terrible against City, but came back and proved all the doubters wrong. Him and Vidic should be our first choice pairing. During our great defensive streak a few seasons back, that was the centre-back pairing at the heart of it, with Van Der Sar behind and Carrick in front. As for Anderson, he's been terrible with injuries and for that reason, I wouldn't mind a great deal if he was sold. But, when he has played, he has looked comfortable on the ball and can definitely make it at United. If he can get a full season under his belt, I'm sure he can make his mark on the league. Ferguson says a lot of things, he's a total wind-up merchant. I would've thought that would be evident by now. You never know what to expect with him. With Vermaelen, if Barca came in with a 30 million pound offer, would you be absolutely certain that Arsenal wouldn't let him go? Contracts mean nothing these days. Modric had 4 years left and he's set for Real in a 30 million pound deal. Anyway, we shall see. Should be a great season. My most anticipated matches are still the ones versus Arsenal and Liverpool. I'd love Wigan to stay up, but they are a two man club, Whelan and Martinez. They have good players, but all the better ones get sold (N'Zogbia, Valencia, probably Moses very soon) and they seem to be facing a relegation battle every season. I'd love to see them climb higher in the league and finish in the Top 10 but I think it's one season too many. Edit: Also...West Brom. I think they could be a candidate to go down.
  5. Brendan Rodgers's arrival should perk up the team and I think they'll get the balance right of playing good attacking/possession football whilst not leaking them in at the back. If Daniel Agger goes to City, then I'll be tempted to swap Liverpool and Arsenal around. Plus, Suarez will get a full season without any bans this time (I think), Lucas should be back and should solidify the midfield. Defensively, I think they will be quite sound. The difference is whether they can keep the ball in midfield and score at the other end, which I expect them to do under Rodgers. I can see Joe Allen starting off slowly but settling into his role and performing well in the latter half of the season. Something about Rodgers just seems right. I don't think they'll finish above Arsenal by much, it'll be a single point or two at the most. I can see them being incredibly difficult to beat at Anfield and wouldn't be surprised if they go the season there unbeaten. Away from home is where their finishing position will probably be decided. Edit: It also looks like Liverpool are going to get Clint Dempsey, who will probably operate behind Suarez and is worth about 7-10 goals in a season.
  6. I'm going to go with... 1) Manchester United 2) Manchester City 3) Chelsea 4) Liverpool 5) Arsenal 16)Norwich 17)Reading 18)Wigan 19)West Ham 20)Southampton I do think it's tough trying to guess the bottom 3. I feel it could be one season too far for Wigan. It will result in Martinez leaving for another job. Southampton and West Ham will start well, but run out of steam. Opposite for Reading, which will keep them up. Norwich will do just about enough but won't perform anywhere near as well as last season.
  7. The demolition was also evidence of Arsenal leaving things late in the transfer market and lacking in squad depth. As for injuries, Nemanja Vidic played 6 league games last season. Darren Fletcher played 8, Anderson played 10 (played well in the games he did play in), as did Tom Cleverley. That's 3 central midfielders out, and our best defender. In addition to that, we had players coming in and out of the team like Jones and Smalling, both of whom are very young, but who gained vital experience. This season, we will have Vidic back, Jones, Smalling, De Gea, Evans, Lindergaard are all more experienced and a year older. Fletcher should also be back if he recovers. The important thing is that you just have to learn to cope with these problems. Just like United never complained that having Vidic out for so long meant we lost the title. We lost it because we weren't good enough. Goal difference is still hard to take, but City played better than us and finished well. It doesn't make a difference though when it comes to the final league table, which is really what matters, and pretty much decides the future of the club. You finished one point ahead of fourth. 3rd sounds good, but it doesn't sound good when you actually look at the table and see the points. Giroud, Podolski and Cazorla are all unproven in the league and will take time to adjust. Once again, this is a "new" and "unproven" Arsenal side. Consistency helps you win games which will then lead to trophies. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if somebody like Madrid or Barcelona come in with a bid for Vermaelen next season. Edit: Just had a look at previous league tables. The last time Arsenal were within 10 points of the team that finished top was 2007-08, and they still finished third. Edit2: Injury league for last season
  8. Player for player doesn't really mean much, it's about how the overall team plays and gels together. As "poor" as this United team are said to be, we finished 19 points ahead of Arsenal last season, and that was with Van Persie playing out of his skin. Plus, we will have the likes of Kagawa in midfield and a fit Cleverley to give an extra dimension to what we had last season. I understand Arsenal have strengthened, but so have other teams. 19 points is a huge gap to make up. Can't really see them finishing higher than 3rd at an absolute push, and even then, I think it'll still be another 10 points or so off the top. As for Wenger, yes, I do feel sorry for him to an extent. But, he stopped competing and was too stubborn with his philosophy. It would have made him look stronger if he admitted he had got things wrong and made changes in previous years. There are always quality players there if you look for them, as is evident with the signing of Cazorla this season and Kagawa for United. Ultimately, if the likes of RVP were sure that Arsenal would be competing for the League, they would have stayed.
  9. Your report on DRAGOOOOO brought a tear to the eye of Graciano Velho, who NEVER cries, as he is one tough motherfucker. I'll PM you my nominations. Good luck to both teams in the cup.
  10. In fairness, Van Persie said he wouldn't be signing a contract long before we expressed any interest in him. Also, if somebody else had come in with a decent price, I'm sure Wenger would have flogged him abroad. I'm up for that. But, I'll need to think on it. Also, it looks like Song could be leaving Arsenal, as well. Crazy.
  11. If you guys don't like the look of the game, why buy it? If the sales numbers for this are positive, it will just convince Capcom even more that this is the direction the series should be taking. Which it shouldn't be. I've watched the video and just feel nothing.
  12. I don't really watch much tv at all. Usually because the stuff on BBC1+2, ITV1, Channel 4 and 5 isn't great. I watched a ton of the Olympics and I'll watch the football if that's on. If there's a film on, that's usually the time I'll watch something on there. Generally, I'm a bit bored of panel shows, like you say @MoogleViper. I turn them on and within a few seconds I know if I've seen this episode or not. It's disappointing. There's two things I watch on telly now, and they are Supersize vs. Superskinny and South Park. Lovefilm is a God send. I probably watch more films in a week than I do tv shows. Also, I laughed at the gritty brit flick video. So true.
  13. I'm not sure if I'll bother with this. I enjoyed it for a while, but then Xpert11 took over, and I don't think I've checked my team since November!
  14. I was at home, happily receiving my daily dosage of N-Europe, when the postman repeatedly rang the doorbell. There's somebody out front doing some gardening, so he probably thought I didn't hear him. There was a massive rush to try and find my trousers, because I wasn't really prepared to meet the postman in the state I was in. He happily hands over this big parcel to me. My initial thought was that this package was Ine's contact lenses, or something, as the last thing I ordered was a skipping rope...yesterday. No way could Amazon be that fast! Opened up the package, curiously. Inside was a Lego Darth Vader Alarm Clock, with a message from one of my best friends in Brighton, thanking me for our years of friendship. Very sweet. Wasn't expecting that!
  15. In the last month or so, I've managed to buy quite a lot of things... 3 t-shirts from Oniell. (bluewater shopping centre) Davidoff Champion 50ml (bluewater shopping centre) Calvin Klein Eternity for Men 100ml (I think, will check) (bluewater shopping centre) Davidoff Cool Water 125ml (20 quid...bargain) (Belgium) Another t-shirt, from Jack & Jones - (Belgium) 2 2-day tickets for Alton Towers in October! A hotel room for the night for my best friend's wedding, which we went to a few weeks ago. A skipping rope which I ordered yesterday, as I broke the other one. House of the Dead 2/3 for Wii (bluewater shopping centre I think, or Cardiff) Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles for Wii (bluewater shopping centre or Cardiff) The Libertines - self titled album (Cardiff) Arcade Fire - Funeral (Cardiff) Doves - Some Cities (Cardiff) Death in Vegas - Scorpio Rising (Cardiff) Pretty sure that's it. A lot of this stuff, like the albums and the games were in deals, so the albums only came to a tenner, as did the games (I think). The t-shirts were about 15 quid each, which is pretty good. Most expensive things were the smellies.
  16. Bwahahhaa. Your team seems fine. No major issues. Good balance all round. Clearly you are the problem.
  17. That section at around 0:49 with the car just looks really poor. There's a reason nobody has ever made a Die Another Day game. You need good source material for it.
  18. I'm eating pretty clean at the moment, yes. Thinking about everything that's going in. I wouldn't say I'm bodybuilding at all, rather just watching myself and seeing if I can get into shape. Looking back at old photos of myself, I see a positive difference with my arms, shoulders and back in particular. It's about being healthy more than anything, and seeing if I can get that balance right between work, working out, home-life, and other fun stuff. So far, it's good. Yeees. I love oats. A big one that I'm doing at the moment is mixing two sachets with 180ml of milk, and putting that into a frying pan. It becomes a pan-cake, which I share with Ine. You could have one to yourself, but it's better to share it. So, so nice.
  19. Pretty good deal for Arsenal there. 24million is a lot of money for somebody his age. I still don't know what to make of this. Outstanding last season, but we've already got Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, Berba and Macheda, as well as Henrique who we just signed today. I'd love to know what formation we'll be playing next season, or how we're going to accommodate all of these players. Berba will get sold, I imagine Macheda will be loaned out, as well Henrique. So, that leaves Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck and RVP, provided the medical goes ok and he agrees personal terms. If this means either one of Welbeck or Rooney get pushed to the wings, I won't be pleased.
  20. Yeah, he's got no other choice but to retire. Sad, but so necessary. I reckon he'll get a coaching role. He seems to be well liked and he's been through a lot, so I think Bolton will keep him on in some way, or they'll help him on the next step of his career, whatever that is.
  21. Oh dear, are Capcom still talking? It's fantastic and amazing at how much Capcom can talk without saying a single thing.
  22. Yeah, last year of his contract, so Dortmund weren't really in a great bargaining position. They were excellent last season, so it was going to be hard for them to keep their players. Excited about seeing Kagawa in the league, he looks brilliant so far. Chainrai has withdrawn his bid for Pompey. That could be it now.
  23. The rise is pretty shit. I've had quite a lot of experience with using trains, and it is just so pricey for what it actually is and what you get. I refuse to get the train going into London now and prefer to get the National Express, which the majority of the time is cheaper. Wales is poooooor for trains. The majority of the carriages have not had any work done to them for decades, no modernisation. They are the same trains that were probably used when I was born, no exaggeration. The times (except going into Cardiff) are poor, there's never a guarantee of a seat, the prices are too high, meh. Plus, the routes that you have to take to get to certain places is laughable. To get to this one school I was working at for a week, I needed to get two trains, the first at 5:55 and then a taxi to get there for 8:30. It's nothing more than a 35 journey by car... I feel sympathy for these people. It is expensive. It is a rip-off for the most part. There is no real advantage in getting the train.
  24. I...uh... There's TWO of them. Two. Oh, my.
  25. The gameplay footage is a lot better than that trailer at the top of the page. It seems good, but also feels like an amalgamation of various other things. Seems very much like Heavy Rain crossed with WatchDogs. Not necessarily a bad thing, I guess.
