  1. Steven Fletcher is Scottish. But, I agree to an extent. However, Wolves are well within their rights to ask for whatever they want, so more fool these clubs that pay the fees. A relegated club receiving 25million or so for two players is pretty awesome business on their part. I do feel that these two players do somewhat justify their tags. Jarvis in particular. Even before Wolves went down, I was surprised nobody came in with a bid for him. Both are bargains when compared to the likes of Stewart Downing anyway. I laughed at this because you said that the transfer window should close before the season starts, which is also what AVB said, which I just do not agree with. The transfer window is important because it allows teams to play a few games and see which areas need strengthening. If the transfer window closed before the first game, you would still have Modric (a player who wants out), you would have no Ade, and nobody else would have come in. Spurs have been terrible in this transfer window. Literally, terrible. You are spending far too long shipping out Modric, who has only left today. Why has that taken so long to go through? You haven't brought in a viable replacement. I heard all of this talk about Moutinho weeks ago and not one thing has been done to seriously try and bring him in. The attacking line/strike force is definitely one of the poorest in the Top 8. You have badly needed a striker, and although Ade is a step in the right direction, why has it taken so long to bring him and somebody else in? If Spurs are really serious about challenging for the Top 4, then they need to be bringing in more players to the club. Liverpool have strengthened, Chelsea have strengthened, as have Arsenal, City (I expect them to bring in another player) and United. All of these clubs should and probably will finish above Spurs. Wouldn't bet against Everton doing it if they stay injury-free for the majority of the season. You will be extremely fortunate to sign one of those players you listed. Even then, it'll be Dembele, who you classed as an "extra". Lloris is a no go. Moutinho is a non-starter situation. Willian isn't allowed to leave and Leandro for 22million? His club won't let him go for that.
  2. Hey dude, I've not got it yet. I've not heard anything about it either. In fact, I may purchase it from amazon now. I take it its out?

I still listen to Silent Alarm and A Weekend in the City a lot. Both are two of my favourite albums. Intimacy was ok but not as great as these two.

  3. How is it possible to forget any of the TP bosses? Aside from the first one (first boss always tends to be the worst or less good than the others), all of the others were brilliant. Including the final boss. Better than fighting Ghirahim 3 times anyway and calling that a boss fight.
  4. It also applies to the cold, too. They can't take the cold down here.
  5. There were meant to be fireworks yesterday evening down by the pier/beach. We got down there about ten minutes before it started, only to be told it was called off. Probably down to the weather, which was only really a bit of a light drizzle/small trickle of rain for most of the day. Bluddy sissies. I was exercising in that rain and hardly felt a thing. I think the further south you go, the weaker/softer people become. It makes sense because France is not very far from us.
  6. Lukaku is a beast. He's going to keep West Brom in at least midtable, I expect. I'm glad he's playing on loan somewhere instead of rotting on the bench at Chelsea. I'm glad Van Persie started the game and Rooney was dropped. I thought we played really, really well after conceding and some of the play in the first half was just excellent to watch. Rafael was immense and Kagawa looks so comfortable in this team. Fulham, though...probably could have got something out of this game as it went on. We were so shite defensively, especially with that second goal. Dembele ran their midfield and was superb. Tied for Man of the Match along with Rafael and Kagawa for me. I would be ecstatic if United put in a bid for Dembele. Edit: Rooney looks to be out for an estimated four weeks. Good job we bought Van Persie after all, then.
  7. 4th place. The new first. I admit, I'll be devastated if I end up being either promoted or relegated.
  8. It does seem pretty unfair that you get penalised even further when you lose games. As if going down/being bottom is hard enough, having low form is a bit of a kick in the teeth. My team did pretty well today, but Charlie said that he didn't really set his team/tactics properly. Plus, he was recently promoted and away, so it wasn't going to be easy for him. I'll be happy to finish midtable. 4th would be amazing.
  9. Ine and I are going there sometime in October. 30th and 31st, I think. Very excited. I get two weeks off from school but am doing stuff for the first week, so we've booked it in that second week. I imagine it won't be any good for you guys then, because there will be lots of children about. If anyone is going during that time (don't expect anyone is), we're up for seeing people.
  10. Well, Daft is single-handedly reviving GenChitChat.
  11. I don't personally believe that he is guilty. As you say @JonSt he's been tested a phenomenal number of times. Somewhere along the line, he would have either realised that doping is pointless as he'll just get found out, or he has found some way to beat the system, which I don't think exists. Feel sorry for him. Some people seem bemused as to why he's not fighting the charges, but I can see these carrying on for a long time. Not good for a man who wants to settle down now. Apparently, there are other cyclists who are validating the claim that he did cheat.
  12. Taken from the N-E mainpage Such a shame. Inevitable, I guess. But, I did think they would see that this one remained open, as it is their flagship store.
  13. Yeah, they can do that. But, as of now, the maximum sentence that can be handed out is 21 years, which is what he received. What I was saying was that they didn't amend that law specifically for him, so he received the same treatment as any other person out there.
  14. Source for the news Today, he announced that he wouldn't continue to fight against Doping Charges brought against him. As a result of this, he has been effectively "assumed" guilty and stripped of his record 7 Tour de France titles. He has also received a lifetime ban and all of his records from 1998 to present day have been wiped. Insane...as far as I know, he has never tested positive for anything. He said today that "I refuse to participate in a process that is so one-sided and unfair," and that he had grown weary of the accusations brought against him.
  15. The way I see it, the Norwegian people have conducted themselves very well over this. They risked making a martyr out of this guy, as I'm sure there are plenty of people in Europe who share his views. But, they kept the case relatively simple: This man committed murder and he must be tried. On that basis, he received the maximum life sentence possible for the crime committed. So, going by the rules of their legal system, he was given a fair trial and the right outcome was reached. It would have been farcical if he had gotten off with an "insane" classification. Some could argue that rules could have been bent/remade/broken to ensure he spends longer than 21 years in prison. But, I feel that would have been wrong. In a way, I feel that would have served as a victory for Breivik, to know that in some way he had caused a change in Norway, which is what he set out to do. As for their "cushy" prisons, I don't know anything about it. If they feel its working and they can back it up with facts, then who are we to criticise?
  16. Steven Fletcher scored 12 league goals last season. That's good, even better considering that the team he was playing for is woeful. Matt Jarvis scored 8 and had 4 assists. And Jarvis is two years younger than Stewart Downing, who cost around 18 million. (This is the same player who scored and assisted with 0 last season in the league) Considering that the team they were playing for were so utterly dreadful last season, I think they performed really well. Definitely the two standout performers in that team. So, yeah. You could argue that the prices are fair. I expect Jarvis to do well at West Ham.
  17. I'm sure DuD is thrilled to hear that.
  18. I don't think there's much chance of that happening with me! It's going to be very competitive this season, I expect. Hmm, I'm not really sure what you can do, unless you bring in some more experienced players. Maybe a better keeper and one or two very highly skilled midfielders? The problem is because your league is very competitive, it's going to be harder to promote youth, win games AND stay up. You could write the season off as a no-go, accept you'll go down and just spend the year trying new things out. Or, you can bring players in, spend quite a bit of money, and leave yourself a chance.
  19. Wow. West Ham get Jarvis for 10.75 million and Sunderland get Fletcher for 14. Big money boost for Wolves, there. Stats wise, you could argue that these two justify their tags. But, personally, I think it's quite a bit of money.
  20. I'm going to go on a media blackout of this. I don't want to see too much of it/know too much before playing it. Is it wrong that I still expect something to be fundamentally wrong with the game?
  21. Play TP again, it's worth it. Trustttt meeee. Banana Blitz really is poor. I remember getting it on launch. "controls are good, this is quite fun." "Hmm, boss fight...doesn't really work, but ok." "This is ok, level design is a bit bleh, though..." "yay...boss fight..." "lets check out multiplayer...ahhh...nothing worth playing. Ok, singleplayer it is." "BOSS FIGHT:shakehead" Those are the two things I remember from the game: Shitty multiplayer. BOSS FIGHT. All SEGA had to do was remake the first game with Wii controls, add a few multiplayer modes/tighten them/rework them. Then, release it.
  22. Triple tap? Can't tell if serious! I've tried tapping the pass button three times and nothing happened. It makes such a huge difference being able to selection whether you want to play a ball high or low into the box. Definitely not going back to Automatic.
  23. Yeah...I hope I don't get promoted. There's a huge gap/jump between Middle and Elite. I'm looking at the squads now and they look pretty terrifying. I would love to finish fourth for another 3 seasons, before making my ascent into the Elite League.
