  1. Anybody catch El Classico tonight? I watched it. Fantastic match. Quality goals from both Messi and Ronaldo. Didn't really want it to end.
  2. If you had the option to be nearer to somebody, then yeah, it makes sense to go for that. But, if you think somebody is worth the effort, then you'll try your best to make it work. Whether that means only seeing them on weekends or even months apart. It's not easy, so it has to be worth it. I don't really get the last part about "chances are that there will be someone nearer." I'm sure if I went out and spoke to 100 women, there would be a fair few that I would be attracted to. But, life doesn't really work like that. You meet people in different circumstances and different situations. At that point in time where I met Ine, I wasn't really looking for anything, and didn't really have anybody else in mind at that time. So, I just rolled with it and saw how it went. Basically, I fluked it. It seemed to work, we both liked each other, so why not.
  3. A good win, today! I thought Newcastle were going to destroy us. I wasn't looking forward to the idea of facing Ben Arfa. The two early goals won it for us. We started off quickly, but Newcastle grew into the game and played well. Cleverley's goal was immense. Thought he performed really well. Definitely a much better team performance than other week.
  4. Does this shoe shop cater to both male, female and transgender audiences? If not, OFFENSIVE. By the way, the bigger the heel, the better. The shoe doubles up as a self defence weapon. No need for bullet when you have dem heels.
  5. Well, the course I did was a bit unique. Some of us trained in both primary and secondary, whereas some were solely one or the other. We had certain modules where we all met up together, and then the rest of the time we did our own subject specific modules. So, sometimes I would be with one group of people, then in another module I would have a completely different set. I like to have a variation, purely because you get different types of things to talk about. For example, I talk to the women in my school about certain things that are different to what I talk to the men about. None of the women there have any interest in football (stereotypical, I know), but a few of the men do. It matters a lot to me, so it's good that I can talk about that there.
  6. Interesting questions. When I undertook my course, there were about 5 males, compared to around 30 or more females. Probably more. Maybe even pushing 40. Maybe even more than that. So, men were definitely in the minority. Only two of us wanted to do Primary, too. Pretty sure around 3 of them dropped out/changed course, and then were replaced by another male further down the line. That last question is a tricky one. I had four placements, two secondary and two primary. I didn't enjoy the secondary ones all that much, but loved the primary placement and had an excellent male teacher to help me. For some reason, I probably got on with him a lot more than the other two, who were both women. There's too many factors to take into consideration to say whether I enjoyed it more because he was male, or if the women were harder to work with. It doesn't really work out to be as simple as that. I would say more of it is down to personality than down to gender or sex. The male teacher was very approachable, so I found it relatively easy to talk to him in that particular setting. One of the secondary mentors was a bit difficult to talk to, she was quite set in her ways and didn't really like many of my ideas. Our personalities didn't match up. The balance wasn't right there.
  7. I've been up since 8. Made a cuppa at around half 8. Visited the Glastonbury website and waited for 9 o'clock. The time comes. We enter the queue. It counts down from 20. Down to 1. Then, it stops, reloads and the process continues. We do this for around 15 minutes, until...Disaster. The page displays a server timed out/page not loading error. Frantically we hit the refresh button, waiting for it to come back. It comes back. We count back from 20. To 1. Reloads. Errors. Reloads. Countdown. Error. Rinse and repeat until quarter past 10. Ine decides that we need breakfast. I stay glued to the screen. Until I need to go to the loo, the pressure is killing me. I come back. She has the laptop and is eating breakfast. SHE GASPS. BOOKING SCREEN. We enter our details. But, it takes us to another loading screen. We wait another 10 Minutes before we get to the card payment screen. We pay for it...and it is done. 1 and a half hours later. GLASTONBURY 2013. HERE WE COME. There had better be some good bands...
  8. Honestly, those were the types of reactions that I expected. The further down you go, the younger the kids are, and the stigma towards men interacting with children that age increases. I believe I got lucky with my current school. In another school, I might not have had that luck.
  9. So, is this a WiiU shop game? Or retail? Either way, it looks beautiful. Want.
  10. Hmm, I thought I would lose that game. I'm basically just going for DV now. Plus, saving my monies for next season. Promotion looks likely...I'm going to get arse-raped if I don't improve that defence.
  11. I'm going to answer this. It might get the thread on the right track. Although, I'm not saying it was on the wrong track... *gets shot by a sniper* Although, it's not what you're looking for. I'm a primary school teacher, but I have some experience teaching in secondary, too. Before I took on this job, I was expecting quite a bit of grief about me being a male in what is said to be a female orientated environment. In fact, I've been in the Nursery quite often and have helped out. Parents come in and don't seem to have any issues with it. Nobody has ever mentioned it, nothing has been said to me. Secondary on the other hand has felt a bit odd at times. In both of my placements, I was the only male in a department of at least 5 other people. At times, I did feel like an outcast, but I can't even say for certain if that was down to me being a male, or me being a trainee, or me being naive at the time or young or new. They were quite miserable. So, in these instances, I was expecting some kind of sexism, particularly in the primary setting. But, nothing. A nice unexpected surprise. I've been very fortunate in that case. As for sexism itself, I find it sad that this is still a problem, either with males or females. I feel nothing but pity for those that are guilty of it.
  12. That's a good point, and I think the same applies to me, too. When I met Ine, I was in the fourth year of Uni, so was coming up to the end of it. After that, I spent a year supply teaching whilst trying to find a proper teaching job, moved back home, then moved again when I got a job. It was quite hectic at times. In a way, the long distance nature of it meant that I could look forward to going to Belgium, without having to worry about my grumpiness impacting on the relationship on a daily basis. I guess. It can work, but it depends on certain factors. Money is a big one. It has to be the right time and the right person, too. Otherwise, it's difficult. If I was 19 again, I don't think I would have been ready for a long distance relationship. I would have missed out on quite a lot. So, the timing was right in that sense. Also, long distance should only be a temporary thing. It inevitably should lead somewhere, which is being with that person. Either here or there. I don't think I could have done it for much longer. Any longer and it would have been too dragged out.
  13. Totally agree. You can't be top of the league and then be labelled average. You'd have to be well above average to even get into the top 4. Chelsea's attacking players in Torres, Mata, Hazard and Oscar...just seems insane to me. All 4 of them (now that Torres is looking better) would walk into any side in the league. It's better for the league as well to have these kinds of players, it will make it more entertaining. I've got a feeling it's going to be a crazy year. Everybody can be beaten. City have defensive problems, United have defensive problems, Spurs want to do well with AVB, Liverpool under Rodgers, Wenger meaning business.
  14. That's right. Except this time, he is stealing all of our love. From deep down in our hearts. Or something. Happy Birthday, Mr OdWIN. You are the true Father of Xpert11. Father because you're the old guy. Everyone else remains youthful.
  15. I'm reading that article and some of those comments and it amuses me. People never learn. What are they mostly talking about after the game? Fergie's jibe about injury time. What should they be talking about? United's defensive frailties, Rio Ferdinand looking wide off the mark, no defensive cover if either him or Evans become injured. He's done this plenty of times before, to keep the pressure off his players. Mancini adopted this last season with his "the title race is over" remarks. It's good management.
  16. I'm amazed that these are still going. How are these films still getting made? Who approves this crap? Can't believe that there are people actually getting paid to create horseshit like this. The films don't even work on a "I like it cos it's trashy" level. Normally I don't advocate reboots or remakes, but this series deserves one. But, not for a while. Give it at least a decade.
  17. Normally, I'd agree with you. But, I don't, for two reasons: 1. This is Capcom. (see all their "hype" with MH4) 2. This is Resident Evil, a series which has massively lost its way. I would have walked on coals of fire for this if it carried on with the traditions of the series. But, it's evident we won't get that type of game from Capcom. I don't even think it's worth playing for the story anymore, it just doesn't seem to be worth it. I worry a great deal about this genre. It's become far too action-orientated.
  18. Great news about the Murfy sections. It adds a different dimension to Origins whilst not detracting too much from the platforming elements. I reckon it'll be great. So, the Ubisoft fuck-up we're all waiting for will be to do with ZombiU.
  19. I have zero sympathy for you. It's looked like shite ever since it was revealed. I'm pretty sure you and I were even bitching about it earlier in this very thread!
  20. Fook off. :p
  21. Second half was a bit crazy. Probably spectacular for the neutral. But, fuck, how did we not get at least a point from that? Well played, Spurs. Dembele and Sandro were beasts. Rio was awful today. You can't and shouldn't really blame a loss on one person, but he has to take a lot of responsibility for that. Terrible position for the first and third goal, devoid of any pace and couldn't get a tackle in on Bale for the second, and just generally looked so sluggish and slow. Can't believe we learned nothing from the game against Liverpool last week. Anderson and Cleverley score in midweek and generally look pretty great. Start them? No, let's play Ryan Giggs and see the likes of Dembele, Sandro and Dempsey run rings around him. Playing Giggs and Scholes in midfield together is suicide, especially against a team like Spurs who play with pace. We should have bought Dembele before Spurs did. In the first half, we had nobody who could close down the Spurs midfield and nullify their threat. Was on my feet when the freekick hit the post. It looked like it was there.
  22. Got a surprising victory over Aqui1a. I went a bit nuts and dropped my two best midfielders, with the hope of giving the lower DV players more of a chance. Didn't think I'd win 4-1. Thought we'd draw for sure. Graciano Velho was a beast today. HE'S DRAGOOOOO's SAVIOURRRR HE'S DRAGOOOOOOOOOOOOO's SAV-IOUUUURRRR-RRRR GRA-SEE-AH-NO VEL-YOOO HE'S DRAGOOOOO's SAVIOUUURRRR
  23. Totally agree. The owners don't have a clue whatsoever. Why didn't they sack him in the Summer? Why sack him now when the club sit third in the Championship? You would have to be a complete nutcase to take on that job. Who would want it?
  24. That's really good, dude. I normally do them towards the end of my workout, so I'm pretty tired when it comes to them, but I managed 55kg last week. I get a great pump from it. I've been slacking off with the weights since starting school, again. I've done some skipping tonight and weights Sunday. Will do weights tomorrow and hopefully a few more times this week. I run an after school football club on Friday, so that's been ticking along nicely for me.
  25. I got bummed 4-nil. A bit undeserved, I think. I don't think I played badly. A bit gung-ho. 4th place, here I come. Just when I was seriously thinking about going for the middle league. Aha...hahah....ha...*cries*
