  1. I wince every time I see that gif. Terrible attempt at a tackle.
  2. Aaaaand we're back to square one. Both goals were the fault of the right backs Smalling and Valencia. Why the fuck we didn't sort out cover there in the summer I'll never know. Such an obvious weakness. On the whole, I don't think we played that badly. Two mistakes cost us 3 points and we played much better today than we did against Norwich and we won that game. However...our build up play is so frustrating to watch. Here's how it works: - Somehow get the ball in midfield, whether it's by the defenders playing it out, the opposition over-hitting a pass or by the opposition keeper giving it away from a goal kick. - Play the ball backwards and keep it there for 5 seconds longer than necessary. - Move the ball to the touchline and then let somebody else have a go at doing the exact same thing. - Move the ball forward in the centre. Then, shift it out wide to either Valencia or to Evra, who has covered the entire left flank by himself for the past 4 or so seasons. - Cross the ball. If the ball gets into the box, well done, the opposition can now head it away. If the ball doesn't make it, aw well, one of these is bound to make it sooner or later. - Give the ball to Valencia. Even when he's at right back. If it's a good day, the ball may make it in. If not, then at least the area around Earth's atmosphere will be clear of debris as a result of his misfire. I don't really know what we were trying to do at the end of that game. The shape was an utter mess and we played so many long balls. We left it too late to up the tempo and I just can't get over the fact that we're not playing players in the right positions. In general, the tactics haven't been working, Januzaj has been one of our best players and he is barely old enough to shave. We've lost ANOTHER game at home. The annoying thing is that nothing will be done about this, Valencia will still probably play the next game or so (the smart money is Moyes will leave him out for the next one and then wait for everyone to forget (they won't) before putting him back in). Wouldn't put any money on us signing a single decent player in January. I can imagine we'll just go forth and plan for next season, maybe a youngster or two.
  3. We were 2-0 down against Spurs. We started out with Smalling at right back, then put Valenica there. We're playing Rooney in midfield, with Kagawa on the wing. Whatever happened to putting players in their proper positions? 2-1 now. Come the fuck onnn.
  4. Hmm...well, fuck. I had written this off as being a cheap cash-in and a bit of a lazy effort on Nintendo's part. Wtf. When did this suddenly become Game of the System/Game of the Year? Why is it soooo expensive?! Want it, but...shit, almost £40. May have to bite the bullet and pray it's worth it.
  5. I've been checking the news all day to see if there were any developments. The alarming bit about this for me is how it was initially thought that he would be fine and then the drastic change to his life being on the line. Had it been the other way around, I'm sure he would be making a swift recovery. The ways it's panning out makes me uncertain. I did think last night that if he hadn't had some positive development by today, then it might signal the worst. It's not looking good. Hope he pulls through and is ok. Terrible stuff.
  6. I'm just about to play some more of this. I do put myself off playing this. It's not a very pleasant game to play. Tense as fuck. I've got the Christmas tree with the lights blinking next to me. Dark house. Quite atmospheric. Fuck.
  7. Hmm, I would argue that sometimes you are made to feel bad for valuing outer beauty as it may imply that you are shallow. Or, that you only care about looks. You also take to find certain crowds spouting the "inner beauty all the way" lines as they don't value themselves as "beautiful". If they're overweight, for example. A bit of a generalisation, I know. Both are important. Why can't you have both? I wouldn't go on a date with somebody I didn't find attractive, and I wouldn't go on a date with somebody who was boring as fuck. I go for both. A boring personality puts me off, but I also need something that catches my eye in the first place.
  8. It's at the point now where there are big decisions are given the wrong call on a weekly basis. No single team is favoured, just like no one team is singled out and given decisions against them. However, the tipping point has now come or it is very close to that point. The fact that we have "selective" technology used in football is laughable. We have it for goal line incidents, which I admit are obviously very important. However, the incidents where the technology will be beneficial are few and far between. Maybe one incident a month, if that. The fact that we haven't got replays for things such as off-the-ball incidents, or for fouls in the box, or handballs, or late challenges and lunges is a joke. These incidents happen weekly. Almost on a game by game basis. It's almost a blessing now when you can go through a game where a referee hasn't missed a big decision. The argument that it "evens itself out" is wrong and bullshit, because it is then implying that things aren't even to begin with. It isn't much to ask for that the referees blow the whistle when it is a foul and give a penalty where penalties should be given.
  9. It's been quite a good year. In fact, in some ways, it has been excellent. There were one or two downsides, but it's mainly been great. The upsides: - Getting more responsibilities in my school and feeling like I am quite important there/well regarded. This was after we had a fair bit of drama with our head of junior school leaving/doing a poor job, so it was nice to have some stability eventually. - Getting a new car! I've had so many car troubles and it was really pissing me off. In the end, I decided to go down a different route and picked up a Kia Picanto brand new. Love it. It's beautiful, no issues, no troubles. (except for one, which I'll explain later) - Going to Glastonbury! Definitely one of the highlights of my year/life. Will never forget this. Just an all-round excellent four days or so down in that part of the world. Excellent music, good company, feels, etc. - Going to Manchester to see Mogwai! This was fairly soon after Glastonbury and was another excellent time of my life. An utterly perfect "gig", and I finally achieved another milestone by being able to see the Zidane film played live, which I never thought possible. - Mini adventures, taking day trips to see friends in Brighton, going back home to see family, venturing to Cardiff, going to London with Ine's family. There were lots of these little getaways, and it always felt like we had things to do this year. Next year's plan is to go on an actual holiday abroad. Hopefully. - Getting fitter/trimmer. Had a lot of compliments from people in work as the weight just kept falling off. Initially, I was bulking and hoping to put on some serious mass. I do like this athletic look and it makes certain parts of my body look pretty good, such as my shoulders and stomach. - Finally falling in love again with music. I had lost this for a while and it seemed to come back in drips and drabs. But, I decided one Saturday morning that enough was enough and brought myself an electric guitar, my first ever electric. Love it. A new friend. I've also got back into bass! All a step in the right direction. - Improving my Spanish. This one is slowly coming along, but I've got a long way to go yet before I would consider myself happy with this. Baby steps. - A nice Christmas with Ine, our first one together. - Having a brilliant summer in the sun. Spent most days off in the garden, just chilling out, having a good time. The downsides: - I was ill twice this year and had to take time off work. They were in fairly close succession and I'm still not sure what the hell was wrong. Thankfully, it's all sorted and I feel great. - Picking up little niggling injuries when exercising. I hurt my wrist recently and also weakened my hip flexor in the summer. It feels better now, but I'm still keeping an eye on things in case they flare up again. - Work was topsy turvy, but it's finally evening itself out. - All of my friends seem to be getting married, becoming pregnant or both. Not the sort of thing I want right now, and it's a tiny bit annoying how suddenly things will change as a result of this. - My car's wing mirror got torn off, which is shit as it was only a few months old. Faith in humanity lessened. - Missed Ine's sister's wedding as I had work.
  10. I swear you posted YNWA before in a thread. I'm about 99% sure of it. Not sure what you're on about, brah. I've been the first to admit that we've been playing like shit since the start of the season. Not sure why you suddenly think it's a new thing that United fans have been ignoring.
  11. The trick would be to put other stuff on your list, e.g. learn an instrument, write poetry, create a sci-fi epic, conquer Iran, build a satellite. Then, once you do this, the women come to you.
  12. Last year's resolutions = blue, Result is in black, Next year's = red. Get out of this overdraft Didn't manage to do this, because we ended up buying a new car. So, not successful, yet successful in another way. Probably a better way, too. Next year: Get out of overdraft and start saving for a house. Ideally, be able to add 30kg to all of my "big" lifts Didn't do this in all the big lifts, but have made good progress in front squats and bench. My bench has improved a lotand it feels more comfortable than it ever has. I've improved in them all, but bench and front squat was noticeable. Next year: Increase my lifts. All of theeem. To gain some size, but not become a balloon. I did the opposite! I bulked, and then cut. The cut was successful and I feel leaner. Getting close to being able to see my abs. So, not a success because I didn't get bigger, but a success because I'm leaner and more athletic than before. Next year: Get lean for summer, but bulk at some point. To turn our school football team from chumps to champions They've got better, but they're not champions yet. Next year: Keep trying. To save up money for Glastonbury Done. Next year: Save up for Rock Werchter in Belgium! To improve my Dutch/Flemish and Spanish. I've improved my Spanish quite considerably. Dutch has flat-lined. Next year: Keep trying. To start looking the basics of keyboard. Didn't do this, but I've picked up an electric guitar and have improved quite a lot on that. So, a loss for the keyboard, but a win for guitar! Next year: Learn keyboard and be awesome. Somehow, someway, record an instrumental where I play bass, guitar and drums Didn't do this, still trying to find a way. I've realised that I probably need to get an electric drum kit as I doubt I'll be able to use an acoustic/ordinary set in our current dwellings. Electric would solve a loooot of problems. Next year: Save up for an electric drum kit. (lol at the teacher in me colour coding this shit)
  13. I love the taste of Scouse Tears. Why not support your team instead of worrying about United and Chelsea all the time? I'm surprised you've finally gotten over Chelsea's Champions League victory.
  14. Then he's not worth the time. Regret noooothhhhhing.
  15. From what I've been told from a number of girls in the past, boys are relatively easy. Girls, on the other hand, make things complicated. When boys are being complicated, they're usually "thinking like a girl" or over-think things too much. Like girls do.
  16. Wow. Moyes...is learning. Defensively, we're looking a bit better and he's making better substitutions. Bringing on Welbeck at half time for Giggs was a good move, and then Januzaj for Kagawa. Attacking subs. Much better. Three away wins in a row now. We're still not there yet, but we're getting better. Well done and unlucky to Norwich. They played better than us today. We got lucky with the goal.
  17. I'm definitely a Nintendo gamer. My second love would be SEGA, particularly for the MegaDrive era. My order of consoles in terms of buying them/receiving them are: Sinclair Spectrum ZX - passed down from family to me. Commodore64 - again, passed down. Phillips Videopac G7000 - Loved thisssssss. Dem feels. I'll call that Era One because that was all before I was serious about gaming. Then, I had the following: SEGA Master System - Present from family SNES - Christmas Present SEGA Megadrive - Bought one after my uncle brought his around and I discovered Streets of Rage - in my top 10 all time games. Era Two. Started off hooked on the SNES, then drifted to the Megadrive, and then eventually went back to the SNES. I have to admit that my preferred console was the Megadrive, but I loved both. Then, Era Three: Nintendo 64 - bought this as a Christmas present with help from my brothers. Went back and bought a NES - for nostalgia purposes. Era Three was when I was hooooooked on Nintendo. I went back at this point and caught up a little on the NES/SNES games that I missed out on. Here was when I discovered Mario Kart, The Zelda series, F Zero, etc. Lylat Wars. Feelsgoodman.jpeg. Era Four: GameCube - First ever console I pre-ordered. Dreamcast - Bought one on the cheap, second hand. Xbox - Bought it second hand, split with my brothers. I loved my GameCube and spent a lot of time on games like Eternal Darkness, Melee, F ZERO GX. Great system. I bought a Dreamcast as I discovered I could get one on the cheap. I...didn't really click with it. Controller is one of the worst I've ever used. Console felt cheap. It didn't have a terribly next-gen feel to it. I really want to play Shenmue 1 and 2 at some point, but the only games I ever really connected with were Soul Caliber and Crazy Taxi. Big disappointment for me. The Xbox was meh. Ended up only buying a handful of games for it and quickly ran back to the GameCube and never looked back again. Again, didn't get on with the system. Didn't like the build of it, the feel, the controller, etc. Halo was meant to be its flagship title and I just hated it. Never again. Era Five: Wii Only went with one console this generation and I fared much better as a result of it. It's going to sound strange, but looking back, it's probably one of my favourite ever consoles. There was enough variation there for me to enjoy and it seemed to "fit" my lifestyle at the time. (the transition from uni student, to teacher in training, to actual teacher, to somebody who had a lifestyle with other time consuming hobbies, too). Games like Xenoblade, Galaxy, No More Heroes defined this generation for me. Loved it. And now, I have the Wii U, which will hopefully bring me some joy. I'm enjoying it so far, but it's going to take some doing to beat the Wii, Gamecube and N64 for me. Looking back on it, I'd say my allegiances were split in the MegaDrive/SNES generation. But, for some reason, the SEGA Saturn didn't appeal to me. The N64 was the defining console which hooked me on Nintendo. By that point, I couldn't get enough. I wanted to play everything that they had ever done.
  18. Cracking football yesterday. I watched our game and was horrified when we went 2-0 down. Having to take Rafael on for his injury and bringing on Januzaj changed the game, though. They couldn't handle him. Defending was so poor though for the two goals. Valencia is also a bit of a prick for getting himself sent out at the end. It'll probably mean we go with Januzaj and Young as wingers for the next game. Would love to see Zaha start, but he might come on as a sub later on. I'm getting a bit more confident looking at our next few games: Norwich away, Spurs at home and then Swansea at home before the big match at Chelsea away. Think we can take maximum points for the next three.
  19. I have this. Help a brah out and tell me that the Man of Steel skins are available on Wii U, please.
  20. Fuck me, the eShop is dreadful. Even when the actual thing is working like it should, it's a cluttered mess and it feels slow to navigate. But today, eurgh. I've received Injustice: Gods Among Us for Christmas and I thought I'd take a look at the DLC available for it. General Zod is up there, but where are the Man of Steel skins? Please don't tell me that we've been shafted as Nintendo console owners and these aren't available on the Wii U. Secondly, I've paid for Zod. I've inputted the card details, which the eShop took very quickly (funny that) and yet my download keeps failing. It says that the download is complete but it fails on the install. Basically, complete bullshit. If you're quick enough to take my money, you should be just as quick to give me that item that I paid for. I thought I'd get a quick bit of Injustice in before Match of the Day but this whole fiasco took around 40 minutes and I STILL haven't got my fucking General Zod. Fuck you, Nintendo. It took me an age to even get onto the eShop today, and that's counting the amount of times I was kicked out with some sort of error code.
  21. I was told something similar, but with apple seeds. "If you eat apple seeds, then a tree will grow in your stomach." "A big tree?" "Yes." "But, I'm only small...because I'm 7." "I know." Brb, avoiding the seeds like the mother fucking plague. My sister once told me that eating boogies would give you lots of protein. I called bullshit on that. She wouldn't fool me there.
  22. Merry Christmas, bitches.
  23. Maybe he had too much passion for you that meant if he didn't get rid of it immediately (making love at you right there and then) then he would've gone and committed a violent crime that very night. I think you dodged a bullet there, brah.
  24. Reminds me of our game against Chelsea earlier in the season. Chelsea are hard to play against because they somehow manage to turn a game of football into the most boring "spectacle" imaginable. So boring. Wasted my evening watching that shite. :p
