  1. Sort yourself out. It's really not that hard. Gaming is expensive, but it's less expensive if you look absolutely everywhere for bargains and plan things properly. Get some cable ties or something to sort your wires out. Get some socket extensions to ensure that everything can be plugged in at once. Unless the back of the tv is visible, it shouldn't be too much of a problem then because you won't ever need to cable swap. As for the many controllers, get some drawers and put the controllers in there. Or, get a table and put the controllers on the table top or a shelf underneath if you have one. I do that. I've got about 4 wiimotes and nunchucks hidden away in a drawer, along with tons of other controllers (N64, SNES, etc). Just take out what you need to save space. So, for me, that's the PS4 pad, Pro Controller and the monstrosity of the GamePad. Two of those don't get in the way but I will concede that the GP is a mother fucker. Like I said, it's really not that hard. Just think it through. There's tons of good deals on the other systems and you regularly see prices for the XBone and PS4 for somewhere between £299-350 with games being included. Think there's a deal around £320 for a PS4 and Destiny which is a great deal. If it's pissing you off that much, you'll look for options that will solve that. Your options at the moment are: 1. Live with it. Look for what WiiU games you do like and enjoy those. 2. Keep complaining and hate the console. Nothing gets solved. 3. Look for an alternative system as well as the WiiU and profit. 4. Sell WiiU and look for alternative system. 5. Give up gaming and become a nun.
  2. The parallels between this thread and the PS4 one is quite humorous. In that one, it's much friendlier and it tends to be mostly about the games. Other than that, maybe info about upcoming updates, etc. This one has passed its sell-by-date long, long ago. It's basically some sort of hybrid between the Sales Discussion Thread and some sort of "Nintendo dun goof'd" discussion. I agree, it is boring and very circular. Buuut, these arguments will continue until something changes. I maintain that when things go right, nobody really complains. Hence why a lot of people in the PS4 thread are quite happy and why this thread is quite angry all of the time. So, how to achieve happiness? I think the time for many to admit that it's very difficult to get by solely on Nintendo's offerings has come and gone. It is interesting that the ones who are least defensive about Nintendo are also the ones who also own a Nintendo machine as well as something else. Hero-of-Time is a prime example of this. Honestly, I do think that's the only way to be really "happy" with what's out there. That way, you enjoy what Nintendo put out there and can still enjoy everything else. Yes, they'll always be behind with a lot of "standard" things like the OS and online/media capabilities, but that's just going to have to be accepted, imo. They'll make minor improvements, but that's it. Honestly, I feel much happier as a gamer now that I've got a machine that can do all of the other stuff that Nintendo can't and simply won't. It really is possible to have the best of both worlds in that regard. The only issue for me now is the quality and quantity of games that Nintendo output themselves now. As much as people try and proclaim them to be classics, I really don't think games such as 3D World and MK8 are the games that they are held up to be. It worries me that these are being seen as classics because...for me they aren't. They are "nice" but they're not pushing the boundaries like their predecessors. I can't love MK8 and I love it even less after seeing the total waste of a Battle Mode that is contained within the game. As good as Nintendo are, this was shockingly lazy.
  3. Braaaaaah, need some help.

I've been playing Injustice this weekend with Ashmon. I've realised that I fucking love the game but the WiiU poverty version is shiiiiiit because the DLC available is fucking wank. NO MAN OF STEEL COSTUMES. Wtf is this?

Is it worth upgrading to the ultimate version on PS4? Are you on it much? Is the upgrade really worth it, say £20? At the moment, I've only purchased on additional character, which is Zod. I hear that you can get his Man of Steel skin for that, is that true? Can't do that on WiiU. Are the extra characters any good?

  4. You shouldn't have to, but that's the reality of things. You're either going to be happy with what's on the WiiU or you're not. It really is that simple. You sound like you're hurt by it, so why not take a leap of faith and try something else? Better to spend a bit more money and actually by happy with what you've got than to be miserable.
  5. Quit being so butthurt about everything. If you're that bothered by how things are, go and get another system. If you really want experiences like Destiny, you're never really going to get that on the WiiU.
  6. I thought the concept looked great. Not sure what's wrong with it. Never a bad thing to take a leap with a well known franchise and try to shake things up a bit. If it comes off, you gain so, so much. Metroid Prime was a huuuuge leap of faith. Look at how that paid off. Better than just getting Retro to make the same game again and go for a Prime 4. That trilogy is over with, time to start again.
  7. I've finally tried the battle mode for this game. I've heard things about it not being good but I wanted to see it for myself. Oh my god, what have you done, Nintendo? It's pure laziness more than anything. We tried the battle mode with three players earlier and I don't think we actually encountered each other once, the levels are far too large to actually "battle" with your opponents. I lost one balloon when I slipped over a banana peel, then I took two balloons off two separate CPUs and then that was that. Still shocked at how it turned out. Considering that this is the most important WiiU game to date, I'm amazed at how Nintendo have acted with this mode. We checked the highlights reel straight afterwards and, well, fuck all happened basically. It's probably been covered before, but I had to get that out there after finally seeing it for myself.
  8. Wow, 1080 looks amazing, where can I purchase it from? I take everything back. Never go full retard, brah. Asking for 1080 and receiving Shaun White is the equivalent of asking for Scarlett Johansson and receiving Dawn French. I take it you assume that all racing games are the same, that all football games are the same, that all fighters are the same, too? Great, it's been out for a year in Japan. Who cares? We are N-Europe, the big emphasis on the Europe and it's pathetic that we are still waiting for that fucking game to arrive here. But, like I said, that's for the other thread. (where others have already mentioned their displeasure)
  9. O RLY? Europe says hellooooo. But that's another matter. Anyway, I am not surprised and am a bit disappointed that people actually bought the circle pad pro. You should know better than to buy Nintendo's endless amount of peripherals that are used few and far between. How's that 1080 snowboarding balance board supported game that we all wanted last generation?
  10. What did you say. Sonic Colours is awesome, brah. Great game, worth playing. I can't distinguish between the MegaDrive Sonic games. I played them such a long time ago and they all merge into one. Bluddy awesome though, loved the games when I was younger. Temptedings to search for my console when I go back home next. Dat nostalgia.
  11. Ok, awesome. Is it quite a tricky thing to do when you make a US account? Are you allowed to do that? What happens to your normal account if you make a US one? Iknownothing
  12. So, I hear that the PS4 is region free. Is that true? What are the drawbacks or things to watch out for, if there is anything?
  13. Ahahahhahaa. My sides. Ine is doing a mission where she has to rescue some prisoners who are being guarded. She decides to use the berserker dart on one of the guards. It all seemed fine at first. He took care of about two or three other guards and all seemed ok. Then, the guard went on a full on killing spree and destroyed the two prisoners who were nearby. Ine's cries of "noooooooooooooooo!" made my night. Fucking brilliant.
  14. Ha, fuck, so cloooose. I cannot use my psychic powaaars for the good of mankind. Anything is good to meet people. We're a fucking games forum for starters. You should have told them who you were and had somebody secretly recording the footage. Would have been funny for the nerdgasms.
  15. *Jim used psychic* Were you at the Bournemouth Air Festival? Think there was a Nintendo/Pokeymans stall? *waits to see if effective*
  16. Hmm, that's not very far away then. That'll fly by!
  17. That poster feels more Star Trek (new Trek, admittedly) than Star Wars. Even if it is fake. Is this really out next year or is the date wrong, too?
  18. I know you're joking, however...I've not touched my WiiU since getting the PS4. If anything, Watch Dogs and The Last of Us do the opposite of what you just said; it shows how other companies outside of Nintendo can make great games, too. Although we often say that Nintendo make good games, they're not really alone in that regard. There's just as much variety elsewhere. Even with Watch Dogs (which I loooved (although I don't normally play open world games, so have nowt to compare it to) and thought was really cool), the world feels big, there's a lot to do, plenty of longevity. The actual story missions are still good, but it's always fun to go offtrack and do the sidequests. The scale of it and content isn't really heard of on a Nintendo system since they can't get GTA, Saints Row, anything of that sort. I'm glad I've experienced it just to see how big and expansive environments can be, with so much going on. If this is average, then I can't wait to play the good stuff. And The Last of Us is more than average. Coupled with the DLC, it's one of the best experiences I've had in years. It's also the type of game that you'll rarely ever see on a Nintendo system because of the game's content, the narrative, dialogue, soundtrack, characters, settings, etc. I've been craving a game with an "edge" to it and it delivered. An Oscar Winning composer behind the music really, really makes a difference. I've had this on spotify on repeat for days. ACIV: Black Flag looks incredible from what I've seen of the other half playing it. Again, never played another AC before so can't compare it to owt, but from what I've been told by her, it's pretty fucking good. Either way, it's bad that Watch Dogs still isn't here. It's depriving WiiU owners the choice of playing the game if they want to.
  19. On a completely unrelated/non-Amiibo associated note, how cool would a Disney/Nintendo Kingdom Hearts style game be? Cross it with something like Paper Mario or Super Mario RPG. Think it has potential. As you were.
  20. Kinda laughing inside how suddenly everyone rates Welbeck. A bit funny that. :p He's a good lad and is a great team player. The season before Van Persie joined (that FUCKING season where City took the title), Welbeck looked like he was ready to become a huge part of the team. The Everton game where we drew 4-4 was a strange one because the Welbeck/Rooney partnership looked really, really good. Far better than Van Persie/Rooney has ever looked. Of course, we ended up blowing the title, bought Van Persie as a result and Welbeck hasn't had a look-in since. The one thing that worries me about him is how often is he going to play through the middle? He can do a job on the wing, but that's not really where he's going to score lots of goals. Also, if Walcott hasn't had much of a run at centre-forward, then does that not bode well for Welbeck? Or, if Welbeck gets played there and Walcott doesn't, then what's the future for him? I'm watching the England game right now and it's shite as usual. Norway look the better team in the second half. The thing that kills me is that it is just so fucking slow.
  21. Some of those games were brilliant today, some great moments. I was tired as fuck from work so didn't pay as much attention as I should have, but I thought I did alright in that first game. Got into double figures for kills! First time evaaaar. That second game with the helicopter was comedy, @kav82, where I accidentally took us out of the gamezone. I'll need to configure the flying controls, they were terrible for me! Yes, the controls were terrible, not me...lol That final part for the last game I played, I thought we did really well. I seemed to be getting loads of kills. Got the drop on quite a few of the enemies and took them out without them noticing sometimes. There was also that hilarious tank moment with @Blade. *drives straight into the path of enemy tanks* Hum hum hum *whistles*
  22. Which version? PS4? £44/45 from Amazon. You might be able to get it a couple of quid cheaper through something like Tesco if you have points. It's £42.95 from The Game Collection, but that deal runs out in half an hour. Hurry if you want that.
  23. I would buy Xenoblade in a heartbeat. It's the one I'm most looking forward to on that list. However, those two Miyamoto projects looked distinctively underwhelming. We need to see a lot more of those before they generate any kind of buzz. Starfox is one that I am dying to be great, but the series is now in dangerous territory where there are just as many bad games in the series as there are good. The only two stellar games in that series were Starwing and Lylat Wars...Lylat Wars was 17 years ago! Get the crew behind Sin and Punishment to do it and we should be ok.
  24. You've properly butchered my name, brah. :'( The trouble is that the majority of United's signings haven't played for the club yet, so it's difficult to identify who should be part of the best team. Also, for players like Blind and Rojo, we don't really know their best positions. I'll give it a go anyway. This is roughly who I'd play.
  25. What time are you thinking? I can manage a few games, but I've got a bit of work to do, too. Think I'll come on at around 9 for a few games. After my tea.
