Sometimes it's better to just talk. It hides my massive ineptitude to compete in this game. I cri, evrytiem. Yeah, that's a good score. One day I vow to be in the positive numbers. I may even hit double figures one day. I BELIEVE.

I played for much longer than I planned to, tonight. No work was done that day, oh noes. @Sexual Chocolate, you are a beast at this. Think you got more kills in one game than I have done out of all my games combined. I am in awe. @Blade, those last two games were a good laugh. Don't think I paid any attention at all in that final game, I love party chat I do.

Motherfucker. I did not know this! I stupidly thought that the games would download to the hard drive but you wouldn't be able to access them, like a disc read error or software unable to be read thing or something. Gah.
-
I haven't been doing this. If I download a PS3 game on the instant game collection/free games wohoo, what happens? Where exactly does it download to? Does it use up hard drive space?

I'm slightly ashamed of myself that I had long and frequent breaks when I played this game. In fairness, it is a massive game, so I can easily see how people can be burnt out by it as it is almost overwhelming at times. I can also see the flipside and can imagine somebody playing this 24/7. When I eventually do replay this game, I'm going to do it over a period of 2 weeks or something and not have any breaks, because I do think it's better that way. Epic game, in many different senses. The world is just huge. Very beautiful locations, too. Amazing combat system. The only blemishes for me are that there are some rather large difficulty spikes at certain points which can make the game a bit less fun than it should be. Also, when doing certain quests (that ONE BIG QUEST YOU ALL KNOW I'M TALKING ABOUT...REBUILDING), it's hard as fuck to get some of the items needed for it. Aside from that, the game is wonderful. It also has one of the best videogaming soundtracks of all fucking time.

On the one hand, yaaay because more content for Mario Kart. On the other hand, does this information just kill the likelihood or an F Zero appearing on the WiiU? They've already got the track design in places, the whole inversion thing...if the Blue Falcom is included in this along with a track from the series, then it doesn't exactly bode well.

Although it's by no means an excuse for tonight's piss poor performance, none of Van Gaal's signings have played in the last two games. Of his signings, only Herrera has really played and he barely completed a half of football. This isn't his team. There's too many players out to ignore and not having somebody like Michael Carrick available is a miss. Herrera aside, he's the only decent midfielder we have.

What's more embarrassing is that you talk about United or Chelsea more often than you talk about your own. You're a bad ambassador for your team.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

@Mr_Master_X2 knows what's up. It's more open-structured than open-world, which is why I think Aonuma came out today to "clarify" that their definition of open world isn't the same as everybody else's meaning of the world. Haven't they talked about taking the series back to its roots and letting the gamer go out and choose how they approach the world? That's what I think they're getting at with this. That's what I think, anyway. Could be wrong, could be right. Looking at what we know, that's the best guess I can come up with. At least, it'll certainly be different to the more linear approach that they took with Skyward Sword. My one concern would be the narrative and how this "open world/open structure" would affect that. -
Van Gaal said earlier in the summer that his preferred formation is 4-3-3. He's played some sort of it everywhere he has been. The reason he gave for not choosing that at United is because "we don't have a player like Ronaldo or Di Maria", his "Robben", if you will. So, wouldn't be surprised if we switch to 4-3-3. The formation is mostly irrelevant, no matter what many of the pundits are saying. What's shocking is that EVERY United player had a bad game tonight, including the ones who are in the first team. If you're a left back or a left wing back, you should still be down that wing, delivering crosses, tracking back, etc. Jonny Evans was fucking dreadful tonight. Even our keeper who is usually solid as a rock wasn't any good. It's a confidence thing and many of our players were rock bottom last season. Many of them just simply aren't good enough to be at the club. Even then, you'd expect tackling, closing down, passion, a willingness to impress the new manager during a fucking transfer window where your arse can be shipped out of the club at a moment's notice. To me, many of the players are too comfortable and they're not determined to fight for the shirt. We lost that massively last season and it's going to take ages to get that back. Changing a formation won't bring back fight or determination. I'm shocked at just how badly this team performed. Even the youngsters who you would expect to at least try and stake some sort of claim for the first team during this transition were awful. One of the worst performances that I've ever seen. I hope we learn from this and Van Gaal comes down on the team hard because this was embarrassing. Well done to MK Dons, because they saw our weaknesses and used them.

I'm watching us play against the mighty MK Dons. I've also got a bit of work to do, so will give it a miss tonight but should be good for tomorrow if nowt else comes up.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch

I guess it depends on what they mean exactly by the term "open world". Either way, it's best to keep the expectations low and not pay that much attention to what Nintendo says these days. The only thing that'll get me excited is when we actually see more of this game and get some hands-on impressions. -
He's got all the time in the world now to sit back and eat a truckload of custard sandwiches now, then. Class player, but he's doing it at the right time. We need the youngsters to come through and form the team for the next tournament. It's a shame that this generation never lived up to the hype. We had two great midfielders in Lampard and Gerrard and somehow couldn't make it work. Also... Can't fucking believe it. Are Real Madrid out of their fucking minds?! That's a lot of money, but...wow, he was magnificent last season, him and Modric. I'm delighted. Never thought we could get Di Maria of all people, especially as he's in his the form of his career right now.

I'm not sure if I would advocate running all of the time. Use your "listening mode" ability to see which enemies are close by. Think about what you're going to do before you do it, that really makes things much easier than playing it by ear. The way that I had success with this game was where I planned out my attacks before I did it, which enemy I was going to hit first, what I would do then. If you run, it would be a good idea if you knew roughly where you were running to. You may find it easier to sneak past enemies rather than running past them.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Fierce_LiNk replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Basically, it's not the open world that we expect it to be (or want, probably). It may mean that there's a bit more freedom with the order you do dungeons. So, open in that sense. We should lower our expectations. -
Isn't it like most fighters where it's only spammy if you don't really know what you're doing or if you don't learn the attacks? At least that's what I found. I think the says more about the user than the game, imo. I liked it. It had a great character roster, it looked visually good to me, controls were nice and precise, tons of attacks that you could implement. I played a bit of it online and had a great time with it. There seemed to be quite a lot of additional game modes too, but I didn't dabble into any of that. Considering I only paid about a tenner for it, I was really happy.

That...they'll introduce it to arcades over here? No? Nevermind.
-
Haven't they got anything better to do with their time? Not exactly endearing themselves to the world, are they? Gah, fucking hate time wasters.
-
I quite enjoyed it. It made a nice change, actually. What didn't you like about it?
-
There was meant to be some maintenance work scheduled in for yesterday (I think) and that got delayed as a result of the DDoS. So, I thought it may be that.
-
Could it not be the maintenance thing they talked about? That better bluddy be it.

Thanks for raising my hopes up by bumping this thread. I thought we had news or something. Yes, play the game, you idiot. It's the best thing on the Wii. If the new one is only half as good, it'll still be like video-gaming cocaine. Be warned, it's not a short game. On the downside, I hate how there isn't anything of note to talk about with this game. There's just zero hype. It's so utterly boring. I want to know more about this.

This is fucking cruel. Cruel. We have the two elements for a game that I mentioned before would be really, really cool. A Zelda fighter, in the style of Soul Caliber. We have the Zelda "fighter" that I don't want (Hyrule Warriors) and we now have a Pokemon fighter that I don't want by the main programmer of Soul Caliber (and also with assistance Tekken Project series director) Hideously cruel. Just...put the right series with the right people and success.
