Buttt... If he gets InFAMOUS for £16.99, WatchDogs for a quid, he could the get Tomb Raider digitally. That's all three for less than £30
-
Yeah, it's pretty bad. I was always looking for an opportunity. Had an N64: Ooh, RE2 looks good. But, I haven't played any Resi game before because I was on that Nintendo-only time. Get a GameCube: Ooh, Resident Evil REmake. Zero! Looks great. *plays both* I'll just casually wait for REmake2. ... ... I then thought I'd go back and get the game for N64, but it was rare. Then, I thought I'd get it for the Cube, but never got around to it. I figured that they'd do it eventually, but it's taken so fuckeeeeen loooong. Capcom, y u do dis?
-
Wooo, I've never actually played it. After REmake, I held out and hoped that they were going to do a remake of 2, too. Tutu! Capcom never delivered. Capcom finally delivered.

If you go into The Order 1886 with what you said in mind, you'll have a good time with it. I'm in the "I thought it was great and had a fantastic time" camp. Think it got reviewed very harshly. Batman is probably the highest-review-scoring one of those four, but it's also the most recent, so therefore most expensive. It looks stunning and should be played. If you're just wanting to get your PS4 experience to a start, I'd get one of the cheaper games first. InFAMOUS ticks all of the right boxes because it's first party, it's pretty damn fun, it's open world/adventure, quite colourful in places. It's an ideal starting point. After that, the world is your oyster. Get Tomb Raider, though. It's cheap on PSN right now and you would be a lunatic to pass it up. Alien is sublime and is one of my favourite games/game experiences ever. It's the game that tipped me over the edge to get a PS4. But, I am a massive fan (fanboy) of the series and I would have sold my own mother to play the game. It completely delivered. It's not for everyone. It's very tense, pretty challenging, unforgiving at times and is not a game you can relax to after a long day at work. I'll always recommend it, but you kinda have to know what you're letting yourself in for before getting it. Bloodborne is very similar. If you're expecting a game that will hold your hand and go easy on you, neither of these two games will do that. If you're after something that is challenging, something with a bit of grit and a game where just getting to the end is a reward in itself, then both of these will do that. I'd keep them in mind for the future, as they are both games that should be played at some point. Alien's sound design is also brilliant. Think it surprised a lot of people. I was relieved to just get a passable Alien game that wasn't a wreck, but we got something that is god-tier. As for Batman, I didn't play Arkham Asylum and went straight into City. If it helps, there is some sort of double pack coming out containing both Asylum and City at some point. You may want to wait for that first and experience the the series that way. There will no doubt be others who will disagree and suggest you play Batman or another game first. It's up to you really. Everybody here will no doubt suggest getting Tomb Raider. What sorta bundle or deal are you going for?

I've got/played all four of those games that you mention. I'll give you the Pros and Cons of each one: The Order Pros: Fantastic graphics and sounds Excellent story Gunplay is pretty satisfying Cons: It's very linear There's no replay value (aside from doing the story again) It's not the longest game in the world InFAMOUS Pros: It's got a fun combat system + good powers The upgrading aspect to the powers is pretty cool It's fun and easy to get into Cons: I wasn't a fan of the boss fights It's a first generation PS game, so it won't seem as graphically amazing as the more recent games, although it still does look pretty great. Watch Dogs Pros: I liked the hacking mechanic There's multiple ways to approach a mission. You can shoot your way through, or go stealth, or use the hacking to do a bit of both. There's a good range of side missions Cons: If you've played many other open world games, it's probably not doing an awful lot new The storyline/cutscenes aren't that special, but they're not terrible either. The biggest complaint for many is that it doesn't look as good as it did in that E3 reveal, although I'd still argue that the game looks great. Batman Pros: Excellent combat system A good story that keeps you on the edge of your seat The dual-action sequences where you fight alongside other heroes (Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing) are excellent Cons: A bit too much Batmobile focus for my liking, but this is down to opinion. Some of the side missions can be a bit repetitive, but that's down to how you play the game. You could argue that playing a game in biiiig bursts is going to lead to it becoming repetitive. You should play all four at some point as they are all great games and they are all different to each other. Aside from Batman, you can probably get them all for cheap now. I'd be tempted to go for inFAMOUS, then The Order, then Watch Dogs before going for Batman. By the time you get to Batman, it'll become cheaper.

Brah, how you going to do The Witcher in a month if it takes you this long to do Xenoblade?
-
If you were going to pick up any RPG, get The Witcher. I'm not sure I'll bother getting Dragon Age now after that. Good choice on those games. If there's any advice I'm going to give you, it's to approach everything with an open mind on this system. I don't really consider any game off-limits any more and I'm loving it, tbh. There's also a deal for The Unfinished Swan, but I can't see the price because it shows that I have already purchased it. Go for that, too. ALL OF THE GAMES. I didn't love it until...Blood Starved Beast, I think. Definitely didn't enjoy it up until Cleric Beast, started to warm to it when going up against Father Gascoigne. But, I felt like a fucking hero taking down Blood Starved Beast. Did a proper fist-pump, jumped off the sofa and did some sort of victory war cry. Srs. Loved it from that moment onwards. I'm not one for boss fights, but Bloodborne did them superbly. Never felt so much satisfaction taking them down.

Mechanically, I prefer Mario Kart on the WiiU to both the Wii version and Double Dash. But, steadily, I think it's becoming apparent just how limited the game is in terms of modes. Battle mode is an absolute travesty and uncharacteristically broken. There's a real lack of single player modes or challenge, at least in my opinion. It's not as random as the Wii version, which was truly awful at times. There's definite room for improvement. Graphics, sound and mechanics are still outstanding. Melee is untouchable.

With no offence intended to @Ronnie, I'm 99.9% sure that Bloodborne would destroy him. I was almost not ready for it. However, I've come to love it and agree that it is one of the best games I've ever played. That was after about a 10-hour period where it was the worst game I ever played. The gaming equivalent of puberty.

I've just started reading this from the beginning. It'sgoodman. Interesting to see the differences between the tv show and the books/graphic novel/comic.

@Ronnie, there's a summer sale taking place on the PSN store. Here's a few things that you might be interested in: The Order - £22.49 Tomb Raider - £10.79 Assassin's Creed Black Flag - £12.39 (do eet) Shadow of Mordor Legion Edition (not sure what edition that is) - £22.49 Dragon Age: Inquisition - £22.49 Alien Isolation - £14.39 (hnnnggggggg) Go here and click on Deals and Offers. I've not checked out Vita stuff, but there may be one or two things there. There's also some great deals for FIFA and PES, but I don't think you'd be interested in either.

I've been following it because of the transfer rumours of Pedro possibly coming to United. The RedCafe forums tonight have been absolutely hilarious. At the end: "Oh look at the mixed emotions, he's ours!" "He is coming for sure. His celebrations suggest that." "Cue Pedro signing new long term contract... " All tongue in cheek, of course. Had me in stitches. I prefer this more exciting Barcelona. Score moar, concede moar.
-
What's your impression of it? It does look pretty cool and I've been seeing the name crop up a fair bit lately.
-
It's a crime we got neither of those games. I don't think I'd go back and play them now if released, I'd much rather play a brand new installment made with newer hardware in mind.
-
He was most likely holding out for a bid from Everton, Spurs or Liverpool. I can see him lasting a few seasons at Stoke before getting picked up by one of those three, unless Stoke see a remarkable surge up the table. The guy will be after European football.
-
Hmm, they all look quite good, tbh. Order of preference is: Grow Home Armello Zombie Vikings Would be very happy with one of the first two, in particular.
-
I know he's had a few bad seasons, but he was great before going to Bayern and I still think there's a good player there. It's slightly surreal because, even though he's not been in great form, it's still strange seeing that Stoke have managed to bag him. It's an amazing coup on their behalf.
-
Yup. I'll just wait here for them all to arrive. ... ... ... :'(

That feel when you see that this thread has a reply, you rub your hands and praise the lord that there's another Chemical Brothers fan and open the thread and see this... Lyk dis if u cri evrytiem Seriously, the new album is great. One of the songs just came on the radio and I did a little squeeee.
-
I think that's a great idea. N-Europe A and B?
-
It is pretty sad, but I feel exactly the same as @Hero\-of\-Time, so I can only agree with him really. I don't think WiiU's online is phenomenal. But, that's my opinion and you have yours. I do think there is definite room for improvement in nearly all aspects for Nintendo. I only recently found out the price for the N64 games on the VC and...it's just plain extortion. I'd rather buy a newer indie title for usually a fraction of that price (and in turn, support another developer). I know it's been mentioned before but...subscription model for VC? I'd go for that.
-
Lovely. I've already told wifey-to-be that we're going to do what we did with Journey. We'll play it separately, so that we both get our own playthroughs without spoiling it for the other. Only just realised that these guys are Brighton-based, too! One of my many homes.
-
Cheers, I figured one game was Splatoon but I couldn't figure the other one that you meant.

Stokelona have signed Shaqiri for £12 million. Crazy. Wonder when Neymar will be here.
