Unfortunately, Leeds represent many of the things that are wrong about the game, at the moment. At least, on an ownership level. Looks like it's about to change with Cellino agreeing to sell up. On a side note, it's sad to see what's happened to that club. I had friends in school who were big Leeds fans and they just looked depressed as fuck when things started to go wrong. It should be seen as a warning to all that things can turn back very quickly.

Golden Joysticks 2015 - Game of the Year
Fierce_LiNk replied to Jimbob's topic in General Gaming Discussion
A few years ago, I wouldn't have given Bloodborne or The Witcher 3 the time of day. You could probably include GTA in that bracket, too. But, you can't argue with quality. There's a reason why these games have great scores, are thought highly of by fans and sell by the millions. The Witcher 3 is now my favourite game of all time, it's superb. I'm glad to see it get the recognition that it deserves. Bloodborne is brutal and is not everyone's cup of tea. There's something very visceral about it and it would have been my Game of the Year had The Witcher not happened. -
The only way he'll be able to finish it in a week is if he doesn't do any of the sidequests (which would be a tremendous shame - Don't do that Hero!) or if he decides to not work a single hour this week and dedicates his entire time to playing this game.

@Daft, I tried your structure for benching today and I must say that I quite enjoyed it! Previously, it did feel like there was added pressure on the entire routine, not just one set. So, if you hit say 100kg (not yet for me) in set one for five reps, you're then telling yourself that you should be able to hit it in the next set/rest of your routine. You do mentally tell yourself that you've still got more to do later, so I guess you're always saving that little bit more in the tank for the rest of the routine. I went straight into it and, although I was shattered for the rest of my benching routine, I did feel a bit happier than I was able to lift more - even if it was just for the one set. Will definitely be trying it again. At which point do you personally decide to move to the next weight? When you hit 5 reps?

Tomb Raider is sublime. It's learned a lot from the Uncharted games, which in turn took elements from the original Tomb Raider series. I've yet to play Uncharted 3, but 2 was very good. There's something very satisfying though about Tomb Raider's gunplay. In general, I think I prefer the combat in Tomb Raider, particularly that heavenly bow.

Yeah, I popped into GAME earlier and it was £25. It's crazy how quickly games drop in prices these days. Hope you enjoy it.

I think it was @Cookyman who swapped out his HDD immediately for a 2TB one. Looking back, I kinda wish that I'd done the same. Although, it's not really that big an issue. However, if you're like me, you'll start saving screenshots and videos all over the place, which are a pain in the arse to move afterwards. My advice: Get a bigger HDD sooner rather than later. You'll have less stuff to move now than you will later on.

Eenuh did suggest that earlier, but I'm not sure if they'll be in the mood to try something like that after a super long journey. We'll have to see. The Evil Within is definitely one on my list. The problem is that the list is ever-growing. It's also getting pretty expensive.

I would agree that the quality has declined. In the past, I would truly believe that Nintendo were at the forefront of pushing certain genres forward; they were the leaders who set new benchmarks for how certain games should play. In a technological sense, the N64 was a beast of a machine and the GameCube followed that up nicely. They set the benchmark and standard for how 3D platformers should look and play, they defined how local multiplayer games should work and they featured so many important games on their systems. Goldeneye was a massive game, Metroid Prime changed things and (even though it didn't stay exclusive) Resident Evil 4 gave birth to so many other sub-genres that we see today. I don't truly believe now that Nintendo have the same goal now as they did beforehand. Whereas before I believe they were leaders, I now see them as playing catch-up. I even think that they've regressed in some ways or haven't moved forward. Mario Kart 8 is a gorgeous looking game, but it's single-player is essentially the same as it has been for the past few generations. The battle mode is pretty disgusting, tbh. Especially considering that they've already done this before and were very successful at it. I couldn't believe it when I tried it for the first time just how unplayable it is, for a title of this magnitude. In my opinion, we're also not seeing the same calibre of titles that we've seen in the past. There hasn't been a racer of the quality of F Zero GX for now two generations. Nintendo did well at the start of the WiiU's lifetime to ensure that Batman: Arkham City came to the system, but the third party releases have dried up after that. Sports games are essentially gone. There are positives, their games do look great and visually Nintendo's games haven't looked greater. But, for me, the problem is to do with the substance. The games seem to be geared towards a very narrow audience - whereas in the past Nintendo gamers actually encompassed many audiences. You could have a Nintendo fan who played Mario Sunshine, then another fan who bought an N64 for WWF No Mercy, then a separate fan for Goldeneye/Perfect Dark, another for the likes of Killer 7, etc. Games like Star Wars Battlefront need/ed to come to the WiiU because the type of gamer who grew up with the likes of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark would be the type who also wants to play that sort of game. The type that grew up with something like Super Metroid is going to struggle to find a similar sort of game on a current Nintendo system, or a game that changes gaming in the same way that Nintendo did when they created that sort of stuff.

Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

I forgive you, but you're still a nutcase as those three sequels that you mentioned were far superior to their originals, imo. I liked Starwing, but LOVED Lylat Wars. Mario Kart 64 was tons better than Mario Kart SNES for me. Hmm, Super Mario All Stars or Super Mario 64? That's a close one. Still, you should build a time machine so that you can go back into the past and hate your younger self in person. The N64 is perhaps the only console I would actually slaughter a man for disliking. I swear to God- -
I was given a £20 reward card for GAME by one of my classkidpeoplethings and marched into the store today with the intention of spending it on something. The Evil Within stood out, as did Mortal Kombat...then there was Far Cry. They had Until Dawn at full price. The preowned copy was also full price, too. I noticed that it was going for around £35 on PSN as part of the Halloween deal, so I exchanged the card for PSN wallet monies and downloaded the game from there. Pretty happy with that. I've been eyeing this one up and it's been one I've constantly searched the internets for, looking for deals. Not going to be able to play it for a few days as @Eenuh's family are coming tonight from Belgium. But, yaaaaay, moar games. *feels guilty as fuck for not starting Uncharted 3 or Witcher dlc*

Pic is not working, braaaah. Welcome! Start adding us up! My ID is teh_jimzor. If you want an easy way to add people from here, you could add one of us off here and then just go to the friends bit and just add from there. LEECH AWAY.

Bournemouth and the surrounding areas are fucking expensive, braaaah. Brighton was just as bad. It sucks living in the South...although, I do admit, everything is gorgeous down here. Coastlines are amazing, New Forest, etc, etc. I want to buy a house in the North, attach some wheels to it and push it all the way down to the South. I have two pads - a sexy black one and an even sexier blue one. I flirt between the two. I mostly lean towards the blue one because it makes me feel like a God.

Have you not played Walking Dead Season One yet? Do eet. I only played it this year, but it's one of my highlights.
-
It's actually crazy how many people were in the beta. Every kid in the school that I work at who own a current-gen system seemed to be in the beta. It'll sell crazy numbers just off the Star Wars hype alone. It'll be a magical Christmas.

I know, looking at it again, it is stupid. That second part of your post (PS4 can't tell difference) is more what I was getting at.

My mind is blown. Oh gaming, how far you've come!

Nintendo Switch - Happy Switchmas Everyone!

You must have ridiculously high standards if the N64 was your most disappointing Nintendo console. Lylat Wars, Goldeneye, WWF No Mercy (The best wrestling game of all time), Wrestlemania 2000, Mario Kart 64, OCARINA OF FUCKING TIME, Majora's Mask, PERFECT DARK, Mario Tennis, Super Mario 64, Paper Mario, etc, etc. Perfect Dark alone makes it one of the best Nintendo consoles. Sickening amount of content, especially in multiplayer. 4 player split screen PLUS bots that you can actually assign to teams. You could even issue commands to the bots on the fly. Co-op and counter-op story gameplay. Excellent cut-scenes. Hnnnnggg. It's that sort of quality that's missing from current Nintendo systems. RARE were in god mode on that console. It's a shame that Retro aren't being put to good use. -
There's no way every single one of those will hit those dates. Firewatch, The Division and probably Gravity Rush will miss those dates. If they don't, that's a sick lineup for the start of the year.
-
Haha, there's no way it'll happen any time soon, if it ever happens at all. It's probably easier for us to travel to the moon than it is to buy a house in the South of England. Prices here are disgusting. That's awesome. What about if it's a retail release? Is there anything stopping you from playing it on two consoles? (not at the same time obviously, as you only have one disc)
-
Yeah, it's that sorta stuff that I want to know. So, I could log in and out of both PS4 A and B at will? As long as I keep uploading my data to the cloud, I mean? Might even be easier to assign one PS4 to myself and the other one to her. :p Hope there's more colours in the future. I want a sexy blue one.
-
Bastard. You're living my dream, at the moment. Question: Let's say that there's PS4 A and PS4 B. A would be the system that we currently own. B would be the system that we don't own yet. How does it work in terms of signing in? I've got a ton of stuff saved to my HDD on PS4 A. Would it simply be a case of upload data to the cloud, sign into PS4 B and download data onto PS4 B?
-
I'm liking the look of this. Was the first game any good? I've never even heard of it.
-
Is it a bit wrong that I want a second PS4? @Eenuh is playing The Witcher 3 right now and I kinda wish I could play FIFA or some Battlefield at the same time. Definitely thinking about it when we eventually get our own house.
