I did like City when I played it, but I was still new to the idea of that type of open world setting, so that probably had an effect. I'm going to play through that again to see what I think of it this time around. I do agree though that Asylum is amazing. It never once felt like a chore to play through. It's through PS Now, so the game is streamed. The service continues to impress me and it still blows my mind how it even works at all.

Hnnnnnngggg. I've just finished Batman: Arkham Asylum and it was just a fantastic experience. I've played Arkham City on the WiiU and Arkham Knight on PS4, but there's something very no-nonsense about this game which makes it very likeable. I felt that Arkham Knight was too convoluted at times, whereas this didn't really have any of those issues. I loved the characters, the way Batman moves and just the general awesomeness of this game. Superb game that would have blown me away even more had I played it on release. Games of 2016 Flower - Finished Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Finished The Unfinished Swan - Finished Grim Fandango Remastered - Finished Race The Sun - Finished The Wolf Among Us - Finished Injustice: Gods Among Us - Story Finished The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Ico - Finished Tokyo Jungle - Finished Grand Theft Auto 5 - Finished! Good going, @Animal. Keep it up. Consider each day a victory as you see the kilos come off.

Leicester are sooooo close. Predictions for their final few games: Sunderland 0 v 2 Leicester Leicester 2 v 1 West Ham Leicester 2 v 0 Swansea Man Utd 1 v 1 Leicester Leicester 1 v 0 Everton Chelsea 1 v 1 Leicester 7 points is a fantastic cushion for them. I'm excited and want to see them do it now. Just for what it shows the rest of the league. It's a massive deal for football. I thought the United game was alright. A bit boring, but what's new? I don't think we'll get top 4 and still expect City to clinch that fourth spot. We're kinda just going through the motions.

I saw this again and I'm now in love with the film. It flew by the second time around...I could have easily sat through double the running time. There's one thing I missed out on first time around that I feel helps me appreciate Lex a lot more:

I wanted to bump the Arkham Asylum thread, but the last post was in 2010...even I have limits, ahah. I'm playing this through PS Now. I'm having a fantastic time with it. It's just very simple, streamlined and no added bullshit. It's amazing when you compare this to Arkham Knight and you can see how much the series has evolved. I'm planning to go through the series, from Asylum to City (which I played on WiiU) to Origins to Knight (which I've played on PS4). Not really fussed about 100%ing the game, I'm really in it for the main story.

I downloaded the demo for this and loved what I saw. It looks beautiful, the music was fantastic and I just had a good time playing it. I'm looking forward to the full release. Count me in.

Sean fucking Bean? Character death confirmed.

I've got some Amazon credit from Ine's parents for my birthday, so I decided to put it towards this: Looking forward to it.

Hnnnnnggggggg. The actual sounds I made whilst watching that were remarkably close to that, although some of it was inaudible. Games are becoming more and more beautiful looking. Hope this looks as good in reality as it does in that trailer.

With regards to the ending of the film:

Yeah, completely agree. As a storytelling experience, the Zelda series has stagnated and does need new ideas to improve this aspect. Because you never hear Link speak directly, it does make it difficult to relate to him as a main character. Also, like I mentioned before, (this is related to Link and all characters) because you have to press the button before the next part of the "speech" begins, it means that whatever happens on screen can't react as fluidly as it does in other games. It's very immersion breaking. I love Twilight Princess, but I do agree with all of the criticism mentioned and I'm expecting Nintendo to push the series on to fix these issues. They didn't do it in Skyward Sword at all with regards to the storytelling, which was much worse than it was in TP and WW. All of this adds up. If you do relate to the characters through dialogue and if they do react accordingly to what's going on around them (if the world is in peril...which the residents of Castle Town didn't), then it improves the whole experience a billion times over. You get sucked in and the atmosphere increases because of all that. Finally, that epic tune...Midna's Lament. They used it reallllly fucking well and they destroyed the atmosphere by having the enemy music override it. I'm glad the review touched on that. It does completely ruin that section and it's such a shame as that tune and moment were wonderfully crafted.

This is a game that I've been playing for some time, but I've finally got around to finishing (the story at least) this very early morning. Grand Theft Auto 5. The only GTA I've ever played was the original. @Eenuh bought this for me for Christmas 2014...so, I've had it for a while. I started it, then for some reason stopped playing it, so decided to start completely over a few months back. I had the urge to really get into it this week, so I've been playing it looooooads in big play sessions. This game is outstanding. I love the setting, I love the characters, I can't believe how utterly breathtaking it looks and how there's so much to do within this game. On a technical level, it's 10/10. But, it also delivers the goods, too. The heists and set pieces in this game are top drawer. The final few missions were excellent and it does a great job of using the three-character mechanic really, really well. It's a feature that I hope they use in future games because of how well it was done here. The choices for the radio station are just amazing, too! Being able to drive around to West End Girls by Pet Shop Boys has given me a new appreciation for that song. For my first GTA game, it has completely blown me away and I'll be getting the next one on day one for absolute certainty. The storytelling in this was something that I hadn't been anticipating and it did feel like I was in some sort of American crime drama/soap opera and I particularly liked how there were lots of little stories going on in the game that you kept revisiting, such as that random old British pair who were on holiday looking for celebrities. As breathtaking as the flying sections were, I found those controls a bit fiddly. It made a few of the last missions a bit less fun than they could have been, but that only takes it from a 10 to something like a 9.99999; a small blemish on what is a superb game. Wow. Games of 2016 Flower - Finished Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - Finished The Unfinished Swan - Finished Grim Fandango Remastered - Finished Race The Sun - Finished The Wolf Among Us - Finished Injustice: Gods Among Us - Story Finished The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Ico - Finished Tokyo Jungle - Finished Grand Theft Auto 5 - Finished!

The Jack Wilshere/Phil Jones ship has sailed, imo. With the wear and tear on the body that comes from the intense training and with age, the players are only going to get worse. If you're not playing week in, week out at that age due to injury, you've got no hope really. I don't think either player has progressed at all. It's a shame, as they both at one time looked like real prospects. Wilshere in particular looked like he would be controlling that midfield for England and Arsenal for years to come.

Hey @Kaepora_Gaebora, you're a reeeeeally fucking good host, brah. Your voice is like water. Bringing up the forum stuff was really cool. It definitely gives it more of a community feel. Keep it up. -
I never actually finished ZombiU, so I'm curious to see how this holds up. Part of me can't be arsed to go through the game again...we'll see. How long is a play through of this, roughly?

Yeah, gutted. I'm not surprised. From what I read many months back, he actually decided to walk away after Man of Steel and ruled himself out of the running for BvS before changing his mind. So, it looks like this has been on the cards for a while. It might be a good thing for him as an artist not to be associated with just one genre of film, so I imagine that could be part of his reasoning. I'm seeing him next month when he comes to Bournemouth. Very excited! I'm a particularly massive fan of his Interstellar soundtrack. Man of Steel's music was also superb. As was Inception. Fuck, the list just goes on.

Really looking forward to this. It looks lovely! I haven't played a Final Fantasy since FF: Mystic quest...

I'm going to wait to get some firm information so that I know what we're dealing with. As long as this doesn't fuck up my current situation, I'll be happy. I won't be pleased if games suddenly start becoming New-PS4 only, but I can't see that happening. I do wonder what this does mean for the future of gaming hardware, so I'm curious to get more information.

I watched all of this whilst eating my tea. I agree with a lot of it, particularly the bit you mentioned about the lack of reaction when shit is going down with the people of Castle Town. Although the game has a nice amount of cut-scenes, I do feel that there's a wooden/detached sort of feeling compared to how the storytelling is told in other games. Especially thanks to the whole "press button to continue text/cutscene" bit. Imo, this breaks the pace of those parts and they're not as fluid or emotional as they could be. I really hope that the storytelling improves in the next Zelda and I do wonder if some sort of voice acting (maybe gibberish like it was explained in the video) could be introduced to improve this. Also, he's right, the slingshot is a pointless item and needs ditching.

I saw this today with a friend who is a huuuge Marvel fan, isn't massive on DC and hated Man of Steel. To make matters worse, he was late to the cinema by about 40 minutes due to an accident holding up traffic on the way in. The people selling popcorn and drinks kept looking over and giving sympathetic smiles like I'd been stood up for a date! I could have cried. We managed to get into our seats barely seconds before the film was about to start. Within two minutes, the guy next to me had spilled his entire drink of coke onto the person next to him (luckily not me!) and rustled his sweets all the fucking way through the film, which irritated me and my friend. Adding all of this together, he shouldn't have enjoyed it. But he did and I really enjoyed it, too. I watched Man of Steel again before seeing this and I do think that the two films marry well. I will say that I went in with reeeeeeally low expectations due to the reactions from critics, etc. But, I didn't really want it to end.

Remi Garde leaves Villa by mutual consent. I feel really sorry for the fans of that club. They're being properly dicked about.
